You should rinse them warm ( mild soap )soapy water after wearing them. Dry them over a soft material like silk, linen natural fiber to prevent Marks on your pearls.
Restring them yearly? Why? I have several strands and they all are in excellent condition- 🤷♀️ pearls will not simply slide off the strand should it be broken - each pearl is held into place with knots on each side of every single pearl
