    Rocketlab has the same things that make SpaceX successful, drive, pragmatism, a valid business plan, and the ability to admit and adapt to mistakes. They are NOT competitors as much as fellow travelers.

    Great coverage here, A++. Rocket Lab checks so many boxes it's ridiculous.Charismatic founder, inspiring vision, private launch sites, growing range of products and partnerships, steady backlog of launch orders, commitment to good design and reusability, major catalysts in the pipeline, govt contracts, amazing PR and media content, etc. Launch Window Research did a comparison piece with Astra, it isn't even close. With RKLB stock ~$8, the TradingView +142% price target seems conservative.

    • @dunker2be
      @dunker2be 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      They might compete for certain launches, but honestly I feel like Rocket Lab will complement SpaceX more than compete with them. The Electron will do a nice job of filling the void that SpaceX misses (or is weakest at) by providing small satellites with optimal launch windows and specific deployment locations at a cheap price. The Neutron will compete with SpaceX for some launches, but since they aren't willing to land their rockets at sea, SpaceX will maintain control over launches that may require this for booster recovery. Either way, it's an exciting time for spaceflight innovation!

    • @TheHat--Man

I hope so. The more competition we have in space, the better. Let's also hope Rocket Lab continues to refine its technology and engineering to bring launch costs down and make space vehicles even more re-usable.

    Rocket Lab is awesome. I love their attitude. The only thing I dislike is their helicopter recovery system. Spaceflight moves to another level when you involve human lives. There is risk. We saw how difficult this transition can be when SpaceX went to human flight. Risking lives to go to space makes sense. Risking human life to recover a booster out of the air instead of the ocean does not imo. I know they use the best helicopter pilots around, but if one makes a mistake you can easily loose the booster, the helicopter, and any people aboard. It's just too big a risk to recover a booster that seems to survive parachute splashdown just fine. Again, just an opinion.

    I have been following Space technology for close to a decade, and I really cannot wrap my mind around the fact that all space agencies have and share (for a lack of better words), one common goal. To achieve a better tomorrow? But at the same time, there is so much animosity between private companies, and agencies. Just imagine if all agencies and private sectors collaborated, and successfully executed just one single mission. We would be playing football on the moon by now, and have so many ambitions of living in space, and on other planets reality. Not even to mention the LEO habitats, and how crazy advanced space technology would be. Now I'm sure there is a few countries, and private sectors already doing this, but when you turn your head this group is trying to have a pissing contest with the other out of stubbornness, ignorance, and just plain old power. We have a future to uphold, and we all have the tools to sustain it, but actions speak louder than words. Sorry for the bad grammar, and I hope you all have a great day! ☘☘

    Here’s a type of technology needed to help those using methane powered rocket engines!! Tech that can do 2 great things!! Tech that can suck the extra methane in the air to help lower methane levels in the air helping clean up the atmosphere to healthy levels!! Then that captured methane could then be recycled to be used for rocket launches!! That along with carbon capture technology that can clean the atmosphere to healthy levels!! As well as used that recycled carbon for other things!!! Also if water can be used to create rocket fuel then we should have a bunch fuel refineries down in Antarctica!! I know that would be tough because of the cold!! Even with that hard work this could be amazing!! That if we could build huge refineries all of the continent we could try and remove as much of the ice as possible and in a span of 2-3 & 4 decades from now we could have a whole new landmass to live on!!!!

    The only company who could be like spacex is Blue Origin but ... bezos.
    Satelite Launcher can never reach the level of a astronaut launcher.
    The future of space is Exploration Colonization, Space Mining and other things in the direction

      What's wrong with Blue Origin ? Simple , Bezos is not an engineer , he is arrogant , thinks he knows everything, totally narcissistic. These are not the qualities required of the head of a rocket company , great on Wall Street !

    Why doesn't anyone else use the carbon composite and 3d printing for components? Is this only suitable for small rockets?

    • @Earthtenant223
      @Earthtenant223 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very difficult to produce to a high standard. Also if you are testing your design, it’s hard to make adjustments this way as you need to create a new mould. With metals you can just weld additional structures on.

    • @Earthtenant223
      @Earthtenant223 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also the materials tend to be more costly also.

    • @hornet07able

      @@Earthtenant223 More costly? But isn't this their sales pitch, that they're making cheap rockets?

    • @Earthtenant223
      @Earthtenant223 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hornet07able it is more expensive for the materials yes, but they’ve become one of the best in the business for carbon composite. The idea of using this material is also to reduce weight as much as possible, which means less thrust required to send the payload up which factors in to their reusability design. But as mentioned in the video, there are many costs to consider than the rocket itself.
