  • In today's tutorial, I'm excited to guide you through a dynamic training session aimed at teaching your dog five key commands: Place, Off, Stand, Low Crawl Forward, and Low Crawl Backwards. These commands go beyond the basics, incorporating discipline and agility into your dog's routine, while also fostering a deeper connection between you and your companion.
We'll initiate the session with the Place command, teaching your dog to identify and go to their bed upon cue. This command is crucial for managing your dog's space, providing them with a calm and secure spot. Through positive reinforcement, we'll encourage your dog to view their bed as a positive place, gradually increasing their comfort and compliance in various situations.
Following that, we'll address the Off command, vital for discouraging unwanted behaviors like jumping on people and furniture. Establishing clear boundaries through this command helps maintain respectful interactions, ensuring a harmonious environment for everyone.
The Stand command will be next, where your dog learns to transition to a standing position from sitting or lying down. This command is beneficial for grooming, vet checks, and as a foundation for more advanced training, promoting balance and muscle engagement.
We'll then progress to the Low Crawl Forward and Low Crawl Backwards commands. These are not only impressive to watch but are instrumental in enhancing your dog's physical fitness and mental focus. We'll start with simple exercises to introduce the concept, rewarding each successful attempt as we gradually challenge your dog to perfect these movements.
Throughout this session, we'll utilize a variety of positive reinforcement methods, including specific markers to signal different types of rewards. These markers facilitate clear communication and maximize the efficiency of your training efforts.
By the end of this tutorial, you'll be equipped with a set of five commands that not only showcase your dog's skills but also contribute to their well-being and behavior. Let's embark on this training adventure together, enriching each session with new learnings and strengthening the incredible bond with your dog.

crawling is a lot of pressure on the soft bones. do not do much of it till they are fully grown. a little bit will do no damage and so you can use the formative months to build the muscle memory and make it a great experience. but to do it over longer passages and train continuity in it: wait till the dog ia 18month old. this will reward you with a longer working lifetime of your dog.

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? If this isn’t good quality for you, maybe spend some money on taking his 1:1 course if you like to learn from him. But if you’re looking to research for yourself, DO THE WORK YOURSELF.
Damn. This generation wants to be spoon fed.
      Great job Nate.

My pup is only doing the down on a mat why is that? Help me Nate

If you only trained your pup down while they're on the mat, they might not realize that the cue applies to other situations. Dogs aren't the best at generalization, so that's why it's recommended you practice in different settings. When practicing a cue your pup knows in a new environment/ situation, you might have to go back a step or two. For example, if you used a treat to get your pup to lie down, but now you can just say it, go back to using the treat in the new situation and work your way back up. I hope that helps. 😊
