Detectives Seek Suspect Impersonating LAPD Officer and a Robbery Suspect

  • Chinatown: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s, Central Division are seeking the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the identification and arrest of a outstanding robbery suspect along with a suspect impersonating a LAPD officer.
    On February 26, 2019, about 11:30 a.m., a grand theft occurred at Jewelry Store at the 800 block of North Broadway in the Chintatown area of Los Angeles. Officers were able to locate Gerald Roberts, a 19 year-old, from Los Angeles. Roberts was arrested and booked for Grand Theft with a Bail amount Set for $20,000.00.
    The second suspect is still being sought and is described as a male Black, black hair, brown eyes, standing at approximately 6 feet tall, and weighing approximately 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing sunglasses, a brown cap, red polo shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes.
    On February 26, 2019, about 3:45 p.m., a male Hispanic entered the jewelry store and identified himself as a Los Angeles Police Department detective and he wanted to get a chain similar to the one that was stolen earlier that day.
    The jewelry store owner did not feel comfortable and asked for a business card, which the suspect provided and then left the store.
    The jewelry store owner then called LAPD Central Area Detectives to report the incident.
    The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, approximately 180 pounds, in his 20s. The suspect was wearing a blue Dodgers baseball cap, sunglasses, a Dodgers shirt, blue jeans, with a badge, and a set of handcuffs clipped to his left hip.
