Agreed. I think the customization should include actually choosing your chapter. So any future features that may represent your marine actually includes that stuff.
FYI: I-frames are "invincibility frames", they're mostly meant to prevent a player (or enemy) getting stun locked to death or to allow to evade attacks. A great example is the roll in Dark Souls.
I’d argue either give gun strikes s or have the ability to turn them off for higher difficulties. Several times I’ve tried to shoot my melta at a warrior, only to accidentally get locked into shooting a pistol at a minor gribbly and taking more damage than it’s worth.
@simonlarge2052 Weird, considering sometimes it just shoots with my main weapon and ignores the gun strike. I usually switch to my pistol to do it because I thought I had to
11:30 I think you've misunderstood what the devs mean when they explain decisions with "because lore". What they're trying to tell you (subtly, without pissing GW off) is that they've been told by GW leadership to treat the IP with some extremely narrow restrictions in some cases. They're trying to quietly explain that they would probably do it, but *someone* is telling them no.
I don't understand why GW(the owners of Warhammer) would have to keep it a secret that they don't want someone ruining their lore. Like why would they not be able to say "yeah we almost did something not lore friendly and GW corrected us" like why would it be a conspiracy?
@@grondunn9707it’s absolutely GW they have done this with WHTW for a decade. It’s not a conspiracy they are just being respectful to the IP owner because they want to keep it. It would look bad internally if devs were blaming GW publicly for limitations.
Yes, but there is no real lore restriction to classes. Are you telling me Iron Warriors can't use shields? Are you saying there's no Black Legion raptors? There's no Night Lords with bolters? The dev response of no World Eaters with snipers is horse shit. Khorne does not care how the blood flows, so long as it flows. Nah, the lore answer is a cop out. If GW is legit stopping them then GW doesn't know their own lore.
bro those little things take lot of times and some times creates lots of bugs in the game, lets hope we get some sort of DLC for salamander lore or someting.
@@TheBacktohell yeah those little things like robe colors take time and could cause bugs so lets add an entire dlc about a chapter thats not in the game, makes sense.
Anytime they say something about class identity or lore based reasons as to why cosmetics wont be more widely used across classes all i hear is "GW wont let us, those pricks dont want u to have as much fun as we can give u"
I was playing operations with a bot team, I had an assault bot that would stand still and watch as the tyranid right beside him would call in reinforcements.
One neurothrope spawn in my operation playthrough and it was a pain in the ass. Got myself overwhelmed by warriors and gaunts while my bot team keeps getting stagger by the neurothrope's attack wave. Took forever for the bots to revive myself and get myself run over by tyranids again. It was on Average Difficulty btw.
As someone with a pretty extensive PvP background in other games, I love that the devs are sticking to the visual distinctions between classes. It’s so much more helpful than people realize, *especially* when abilities aren’t actively engaged As far as the “lore” stuff. My understanding is that certain aspects are dictated by GW
Visual differences between classes already exist and will exist anyway, because everyone's equipment is different. There is no need to tie a class to the traitor legion. The loyalists are not bothered by the fact that all their classes by default are very similar to each other at a distance.
the first game never had a problem with this and you could have the same armour and skins for each class, its pretty easy to tell whos who when the difference is a MASSIVE FUCKING JETPACK ON THEIR BACK or a MASSIVE FUCKING HEAVY BOLTER IN THEIR HAND
I think the problem just comes down to the devs seeing pvp as like a hardline try-hard Esports thing. The player base just sees it as fun and it's never gonna be a pro pvp.
@@АртёмШахов-ь4х Fr, the only thing i could see being confused is the vanguard getting mixed up with tactical maybe? But if you can't tell that a guy with a jump pack is a raptor or a guy with a shield is the bulwark then its sort of on you. World Eater bunny horns are really the thing that'd be confusing but everything else would be fine imo
im a bit of a new gen and while ive been interested, ive only really gotten into the lore and games post-Primaris and even i have to admit the firstborn gear and aesthetic is way better than the Primaris stuff, i would kill for that mark 8 Deathwatch gear to be in the pve
@@ghost_1153Not necessarily, of the few dimensions that remain the same would be the helmet, pauldrons, and maybe the shin armor, but that would be about it
It’s honestly a crime I can’t have a cloak or cape on my wannabe Victrix Guard Bulwark. Should’ve given us 2 sets for Ultra edition, the current 4th Company one and a full Victrix set for Bulwark (shield included) Also, the lore excuse they gave for Chaos is bs. SM1 had it just fine, regardless at least give us earnable sets for the Legion of the class then. The concept art for the Chaos side was way better and those armor sets should’ve just been earnable in game rather than scrapped altogether
This is something I can get behind. I also want to make a Victrix guard or hell even wear a cape on my tactical. The offical models have it as well so why can't we?
Warhammer has always allowed people to invent their own chapters, ie painting your minis whatever color you want. But the World Eaters would never Snipe or go Invisible, they’d find it cowardly and disrespectful to Khorne.
You realize it takes time to make content right? There's 6 classes and 6 Chaos legions between them, that's 36 sets of armor they still have to design and update unto the game. Multiply that by another 6 if you want each legion to have tiers of armor sets like loyalists, that's a ton of content.
And you can 6 skittle Marines on Chaos as well, you're just trying to make it seem like that has something to do with why there isn't armor sets. It's much easier to allow freedom of color than it is making completely unique armor sets.
@@yall_mightThat's 100% BS. Khorne doesnt care how the blood flows, so long as it flows. For a clear indicator of what should be allowed in traitor legions look at Horus Heresy. World Eaters have everything, heavy, scouts, snipers, jump troops, etc. It's a cop out answer. There's no justifiable lore reason to limit it.
I've got a fucking heavy class customized with blood angel colors with black Templar cross on his helm and black legion symbol on his shoulder. I think the lore is already right out the window
@Chapter Master Valrak on the last QNA thing it's referring to during the gun strike animation people are requesting we become invincible like during executions. I- frames are called immunity frames and those are instances where any attack goes through you and doesn't deal damage. It's also how our Dodge works
I really appreciate that the Devs can stick to their guns and say "no" when they have to, to the community. People being able to have 3 or more members of the same class on the same team would be a fucking NIGHTMARE for everyone else involved, and create stupid toxic metas. Same goes for the customization and visual clarity. Yes, I am always for more customization, but not to the detriment of gameplay. Overhaul, their clarity, nuance, and willingness to stand their ground is making me quite a fan!
There was a ton of Chaos Marine customization in the first game, not just armor sets and colors, but also Chaos Champion designs that were unique. Now this game is different in that there are 6 classes instead of 3, and the sub-variants include different patterns of Mk X armor, but that's also another topic.... Would any Chaos Marines have power armor beyond say Mk IV or V? The World Eaters Vanguard in SM2 currently isn't wearing Mk X Phobos, and the Alpha Legion Sniper looks like it's wearing Mk V. So to your point Valrak, I don't see any limitations in the lore, especially since there's a great precedent to follow in how this was done in SM1 and all the "bones" are there for this to work in SM2 already.
100% agreed. The whole “lore” excuse is the most Bs thing ever. It was done before, and it was done well. “Lore accurate” but, its fine if my Deathguard Bulwark is painted in Khorne colors with Slanesh emblems.
I want to play with different armors in PvE. The only option we have is the Primaris armor (MK10), but I would love to play with an old Space Marine armor, such as MK7 or even MK2. They can easily add more armor options to the game. The MK7 armor technically exists in the game (Deathwathc armor in the intro mission), and there is also a mod that makes you play with Deathwatch armor in the campaign. So it shouldn't be an issue, they can add it easily into the game.
@@BoşnakPanda I feel the same way, even just the MK7 helmet would be enough for me, sadly they really want to promote the Primaris. That's just the way it is I suppose
I would be willing to bet that will come later, but it's important to remember that GW is pushing primaris very hard. Personally, is love to see everything. I'm a huge fan girl for Mk III and Mk IV, but having some beakies, 5s, 7s, etc would be cool.
@@BattleBro77 I agree brother captain. It seems the MK7 armor will remain only in the original Space Marine (2011) and become a relic of the past, much like the miniature sets, an much like in the lore. The non primaris marines are a dying breed. Sad times brother captin.
Something to keep in mind. If the weapons that people think are "OP" are all unlocked after lots of play, that means the people using them are all people who have played a lot. It could just be an experience/skill issue and not really need balancing. (I'm not saying "get gud", just that hours of play naturally will make you slightly better)
@@TheDwarfishjoePerhaps the other weapons need to be buffed. lol Especially the plasma rifle. It’s strength 8 on the tabletop. I shouldn’t have to shoot a warrior or rubric twenty times in the face with supper heated plasma to execute/kill them.
@caseyanders1601 Yeah, that's what I was going for. I've only played like 2 hours of campaign, and 0 of PvP. Put me against bad, subpar players who have played a hundred hours and they'll likely beat me just because of their experience.
I've been having a LOT of fun with it. Its a great sign when people just want more content to grind through as an excuse to play. They nailed the fun, just give us more things to do and level up. Maybe balance the health system a little better and buff a few things, but outside of that we just need more mission types, a true horde/defend waves mode, and more things to level up and unlock. Fantastic game, though I do feel it could have used another year in the oven.
Hard disagree on the one year more in the oven. They already had to delay for one year. Each month in development costs hundreds of thousands of dollars for one. Second, they have an amazing foundation and now They are building on it with community feedback. Customers already contributed ideas and help shape future content. Do you want them to waste another year on content they have no way of knowing if people like it? Thats how you get a concord.
@@cirescythe "That's how you get a concord" is not equal to "Delay Space Marine 2 a year". Concord failed because it was yet another bad Overwatch clone with bad art and zero sex appeal. Simple as. You're talking out your ass for speculating on how a delay would impact them. A more polished fleshed out game will always lead to more sales, and there are other things that can set them up for future profits during the delay like iterating on content and future DLC up front. Many studios have done this. I'm not saying its as dire as something like Cyberpunk was, I just feel like it would feel like a way more richer, feature complete game at launch, which is a nice thing when it rarely happens these days. I'm not even fully against what we have now because its so fun. Just talking about options.
The whole class identity thing is honestly pretty stupid. Like the Bulwark will always have his shield, the assault will always have a big jump back, and the heavy will constantly be carrying around a big ass gun with an iron halo on his back regardless of how you customize them to look. The hardest class to make look difference would honestly be the Vanguard and even that can fixed by adding something that goes with the class that can be easily identified, but also experience has shown that this class identification also doesn't really matter. What this reminds me of ultimately is how before Battlefield V released the devs were apprehensive about customization because it would ruin the silhouettes for each class only for customization to be added with Battlefield V and it not to matter at all and classes were still easy to identify just by how the other players played and by what weapons they used. I understand there are some stupid players but if Saber honestly thinks that most people would: A. care about a World Eater sniper B: Be unable to tell that the man with a big jump pack is an assault because he isn't a nightlord Then they're pretty stupid themselves. Of course I'd rather see bugs fixed before customization expansions but this whole excuse they're using about lore and class identity is a really weak that doesn't hold up at all, especially when you consider Space Marine 1 had full customization for each side while also maintaining the ability to tell the differences of each of the three classes. And if it really is that hard, then they can easily make a system where when you aim at an enemy player and you see their health bar a small symbol appears over their head indicating their class! You know what game also did this? Battlefield. This is truly a nonissue that they are creating themselves. A link to this very idea on Focus Together: community.focus-entmt.com/focus-entertainment/space-marine-2/ideas/4696
They don't want people to make a World Eater sniper or heavy for lore or gameplay reasons, but then they give the World Eater vanguard a combat knife as their melee weapon instead of their iconic chain axe... Yeah makes sense.
The main argument against their class identity stance is the fact you can customise the loyalist marines. They either need to take away custimisation for loyalists in pvp or add it to chaos, because right now its ridiculous to make that claim when half the players directly refute it simply by exsisting in the match.
@@sevenbutcher5729so you are yelling at the chef, flipping the table, yell at other customers until the restaurant has to close down so no one can have another burger and you scammed yourself out of your fries.
I love this game, but I've find myself often thinking about how that cancelled (or not cancelled but never planned) open beta could have helped. Maybe these issues would have already came up, and even if there wouldn't have been a solution by launch, we could still get them much closer to release.
I need to be able to farm XP and upgrades when solo-playing Operations with bots on Xbox Series X. I've lost nearly a dozen levels for finishing Operations with a pair of bots. That's a total slap in the face. I love playing with bots. I'd prefer that I am able to keep my XP and gear after completing Operations solo... Not too difficult to fix this.
@@Inquisitor_Vex Yeah they definitely dont have that 10 seconds to return to battlefield thing implemented rn, i saw a video of a guy that got glitched out of the map at the bridge on decapitation and he fell like five levels of solid out of map platforms before he died so he could respawn
Their whole answer for not allowing legion changes to classes is a load of nonsense. Death Guard for example never have, and currently do not, use shields. Mortarion built the legion with no specialization in mind, being able to grind down any enemy with bolter fire, grenades, and knives as they approach. It is actually more lore accurate with them as tactical than Black Legion. Also, being able to identify the enemy's class? When I'm playing chaos I haven't the slightest clue what class the loyalists are playing because they've customized themselves to the gills. The statement just doesn't do it for me.
Yeah it just seems like since it's a lot of work they just didn't want to add it. Imo it doesn't even have to be as extensive as loyalists but let us get different ornaments and stuff to add on instead of full custom armor as a compromise would be cool
I think the idea with the color palettes is that you need to unlock multiple different chapters to get the right color combinations as an extra progression gimmick.
The multiple-class fix could be pretty simple. The team bonuses apply to everyone except teammates with the same class as you. That way you avoid perks being stacked up, but individual and unique teammates still get the perk bonus. For example: Your team receives 20% contested health back on execute (disabled for other assault players on your team) That way people in ur team that dont play assault get your team bonus but not the 2nd assault
I get their comments on not allowing tabbards on certain classes and not allowing exessive changes for the heretic astartes. It's all to do with the silhouette (outline) of a player. It is INCREDIBLY powerful, a glance tells you everything that that player can do because they look like a Bulwark or Assault marine you instantly know how to either get out of their way and attack from another angle or take them straight on, and you will make that desicion in seconds thanks to the characters silhouette. It's one of the most important parts of character design when it comes to class based PvP. Look at games like TF2 or Overwatch, hours and hours will have gone into the design of those characters to make sure that their silhouette is different from one character to another to enable quick reactions when playing off of and against one another.
I bet that the lore restrictions come down from GW on high, if I had to take a guess. They've mentioned a few times so far that they can't give certain classes on the Loyalist side certain weapons for the same reason, so I would bet any amount of money that's why. It would be kinda cool if they at least unlocked a Chaos legion or two for every class based on legion specializations so we can have a little bit of variety, but if we can at least just get really drippy Chaos cosmetics like we saw in the concept art, I'll be okay with that at this point.
Yeah some of their responses regarding cosmetics in particular have been fairly disappointing, I should be able to put cloaks and capes on any of my marines ideally, restricting customization to this extent is very player unfriendly. Not to mention their whole reasoning for not allowing old school mark helmets for space marines is completely ridiculous, they can absolutely do it but I'm 90% sure Games Workshop doesn't want it to happen so they can keep promoting primaris models.
They can just add the class symbol next to the name tag and healthbar when you're looking directly at an enemy in pvp. Don't really get that some classes are pretty obvious like the guy with a huge jumpack is obviously the assault and the person with the big ass gun is the heavy and the guy with the shield is bulwark.
I think it's good that the developers explain how certain design choices are intentionaland won't be changed, instead of making empty promises to keep people happy. And readability is incredibly important in a PvP game, if everyone ran around with camo cloaks you would have a much harder time distinguishing the classes. Team Fortress 2 is a good example, with every character having an instantly recognisable shape.
Being able to run campaign missions in operations mode would be huge. It seems like there is a mod for this so devs should be able to add that fairly easy.
Wouldn't be surprised if, as a first pass at least, they let us change our faces to other classes' faces. Likely that it won't be full-fledged face customization, at least at first.
Totally agree. Will vary the customisation a lot without changing much. Then maybe further down the line let us make our own with some limitations to stop the stupid looking ones like in MORDHAU. lol
I dont mind no fov slider or shoulder-swap, Dont think either are necessary for this game. I dont think there are any "broken" classes in pvp, or overpowered ones. The Heavy could swap the dodge to a hop, rather than a roll, which'd help make them a bit more vulnurable since they're so tanky, but the bulwark just needs the right approach (stun grenade). The assault in pvp is easily the most difficult class to play, but I've seen people dominate with it. Team-swap and randomization is a must. I think in terms of how the chaos class/factions are handled, probably would've been easier to just have generic chaos marines and allow color/armor changes. You wouldn't get the cooler cosmetics, but at least there'd be room for customization, where's now they're a limited.
I-Frames are invulnerable frames where you can't take damage or be interpreted. You get I-Frames during parries, dodges, and executions. Some people want I-Frames on gun strikes because it locks you into a action and you can end up taking more punishment than the 1 blip of armor for the kill is worth. I think most people (myself incuded untill it was cleared up) thought gunstrikes were more reward only for getting the enemy into that state over being a risk/reward opportunity on if you think you can take the shot to get your reward be it the damage on a bigger enamy or the kill and some armor.
I disagree on their comments regarding recognisable classes for Chaos. I'm sure it wouldn't be impossible to differentiate a Chaos Tactical and the other classes. Havocs could be visually more armoured, Snipers less armoured, Bulwarks already have a shield, and Raptors have a unique style anyway. The only class that could be an issue would be vanguard, but you could just give them bone or daemonic adornments like you see with executioners and possessed?
An easy fix. Please get all the chapter symbols available on the right pauldron. As a Deathwatch player, the DW Pauldron is on the left and the chapter symbol is moved to the right, I want to rep more chapters like blood angels and not only the 4/5 that happen to have right pauldron symbol options.
I'd really only change 2 things for PvP so far. -Vanguard grapple should not* stun until they land the kick. -Bulwark shield bash should stun enemies. Other than that, it feels pretty balanced. *Edited for clarity.
@@RatchildUK yes 100% this is actually ejat I would change so people had a second to deal some damage. This should stop Headon assaults which are frankly cheesy
They could ad ranked versions of the game modes to restrict the options and make the regular to be just for fun and rewards alone while ranked also includes some more special armour pieces and things like that
A possible solution for "customizing" AI is to have them default to whatever your current loadout for that class is. Vermintide 2 does that I believe. The statement about i-frames on the gunstrike makes sense. You can still take damage when using a gunstrike because if you could chain gunstrikes with i-frames you could potentially render yourself near-invincible by doing so.
According to reliable french news (Les Echos), SM2 should reach 5 million units sold by the end of the week and potentially reach 10 millions over its life cycle. Also, the game cost around 40 millions euros in development budget.
€40 million for such a story rich game that plays & looks really good along with the co-op and PVP is great. Those high quality cutscenes alone I thought would cost tens of millions. Lol
I strongly believe they should add several legions for each class at least. Tactical> black legion, word bearers, thousand sons Assault>night lords, black legion, and khorne Bulwark> nurgle> iron warriors > black legion... Yes, if they went full ultramarines with loyalist they eventually should go full black legion with traitors so if we can paint them to look like other traitor legions easier.
Dark angles don't use cloaks for normal troopers, and they are very different from the cape on the sniper. The cloaks are largely worn by the higher level commanders or elite units. The majority of Dark Angels that wear cloaks focus on power sword usage, much like the bulwark that can currently already wear the hooded robes the DA wear.
Yes, but their should be cosmetic options for high ranking marines like the company veterans they are cloaked and use tactical marine weapons. So tactical should get a cloaked armor set too
being able to change my SMs face/skin colour will be a great bonus. I'm a Raven Guard successor player and none of the bare helmet models fit the legion and/or chapters that spawned from it (Raven Guard gene seed is known for causing their skin going alabaster white and almost translucent as they age) it'd be alot of work but I would like to see a series of heads to choose from and a skin tone gradient going from Raven guard pale white to Salamander obsidian black I agree regarding robes, cloaks and tabards. personally i'd prefer the option to remove them entirely from my Marines. I dont need a see a loincloth to tell my marine is a Bulwak... the big ass ruddy shield kind of gives it away! at the end of the day the 1st legion on their 'unforgiven' children are on the way next... its going to be "MONK ROBES FOR EVERYONE!" soon enough to be fair so far my grumbles about SM2 are either minor or cosmetic in nature. the vanguard/reaver class is missing the heavy bolt pistol from its side arm selection and it's also missing the fully enclose Vanguard helmet
The one point I specifically hated the AI bots, was the early mission where you have to clear Tyranids off of the communications tower in four places. You're basically forced to scramble all over the place by yourself and clear them, because the bots will only shoot the bugs they have direct simple line of sight to. They won't move to objectives, and they wont ensure they're cleared completely. And you're doing this while there's enemies spawning all over the place on the ground too. It was infuriating how useless they were.
An i frame is an Invincibility frame. Essentially you dont take damage. Think in mario when you get hit and mario blinks for a second and cant get hit again. i-frames on gun strikes will make it so you do not take damage while performing a gun strike while you currently do.
I could be wrong, but I feel as though the restrictions on Chaos Customization could be coming from the GW side rather than just Saber themselves. I hope one day, if this is the case, they can come to some sort of compromise where you can at least get rid of the legion specific armors with more generic chaos ones. Sure it would be weird to see a Khorne Berserker as a sniper, but that doesn't mean a bloke from the Black Legion or some other Renegade warband wouldn't have snipers. Overall this is a good Q&A where it shows that the dev team is listening to us and taking into consideration what we the gamers want and not afraid to address the gamers on where they can and can't deliver (looking at you Blizzard). They have a good thing here with this game and I hope they can continue to keep with this promise on letting the players having a hand on the future of this game.
Just saw your initial reaction to the trailer 2 years ago. It was so wholesome. I hope you enjoy/enjoyed this game as much as i did. Its so fucking awesome!!!
I-frames means "invulnerable frames" Basicly while you do certain actions, you cannot be damaged and you are invulnerable. This would be a thing they should have in the PvE since sometimes your animation is so long for some combos, your shields are completly gone and your HP is 50% or less because monsters got free hits on you while you're doing a combo..
I'm honestly fine if Chaos is sorta fixed I just want something to work towards and add some bling. So a few heads for the Berserker, a bare arm, more chains etc. Death Guard we all know could be amazing even if we're just limited to that class. I'd assume they'll do something similar to that Ultramarine armour and we'll be seeing new unique sets of armour that dont have any customisation options
It's not just the jump pack. It's the lack or armour and health farming perks. The lack of damage you can deal with melee compared to ranged. You don't even get the most versatile melee weapon (power sword) with its 2 modes. In pvp it still suffers from being a melee class that isn't any better at it than any other class but with naff ranged. I've started photographing my leaderboards at the end of each game now to get some data on it. On the 10 or so I've got so far assault is rarely even on the board which tells you a ton! (People don't want to play it, likely because it's not as good). It's also usually at the bottom or mid. I personally play it a lot and can play around it a bit and can get in the top 2 about 60-70% of the time. However that hinges on your team being able to do what you can't with your class. Skill makes a huge difference. But assault is still underpowered I'm certain the data will show this. It needs the plasma pistol and power sword, a jump pack buff, 3rd armour slot and something needs to be done about melee across the board.
@jarlwilliam9932 1. the logic of "one person can do so everyone can" is stupid. 2. As I said I can do well as assault but it is heavily dependent on your team. 3. Wheres your proof?
@@Bikeadelic it’s more dependent on how you play the class. Assault is the melee version of vanguard, it’s an assassin class that excels at hitting lone players. Flanking around an enemy team to hit stragglers or the periphery of the other team. Assault is meant to drop on an alone player and then get out before every starts shooting at it. Another key area where assault excels is scouting out the other team and highlighting players and areas where the other team is for your team. Assault isn’t a key centerpiece class that gets stuck in and stays in like tactical or bulwark. I agree something needs to be done about melee across the board, but the assault can two shot every other class with melee attacks and has a close range pistol for shooting people rolling away.
@@jarlwilliam9932 There's what the class is and what it should be. It should be a formidable hit an run class that people fear getting into melee with. Just like facing down a heavy or tactical in a long corridor with no cover is. Melee in its current state means a guy with a kn-ife is pretty much as good as a guy with a thunder Hammer. Secondly, you are way off with the assassin nonsense even if you accept the way it is as absolute perfection (which it can't possibly be because we didn't even have a beta). I play Capture and control mostly and I am able to use it on the objective with everyone else. Darting around using the jump pack dash to get behind people and break their line of site. Then the actual jump when I need to break contact and get a breather. This is why teamwork matters so much. If the rest of your team melt on first contact then you get overwhelmed immediately after. I leave the scouting rubbish to classes that are actually supposed to do that. Like snipers which currently are ruined because people grab an smg grenade launcher and pop up out of nowhere to spray down anyone in range. This often happens when you try and drop down on a player even when they aren't a sniper. People keep complaining about ass-ault for a reason. People choose not to play assault as much as other classes for a reason. It sucks to play because you get walked over unless you put in crazy time to get used to it. Even then you are permanently disadvantaged compared to other classes. The idea one specific class isn't supposed to be able to do as well as other because it's a scout is a joke! Especially when the assault isn't even the scout!!!! The sniper and vanguard are LITTERALLY the scouts in lore!!!! 2 shot other classes with melee 😂 now you're just making things up! You say you can sho-ot people with the pistol as if we wouldn’t have noticed 🤣 There's two problems with that approach. 1. The assaults ranged output is pathetic compared to all other classes. Even bulwark has the plasma pist-ol. 2. It's a class all about melee...........melee which currently means a tactical is just as good with a chainsword as assault or bulwark AND tactical has some of the beat guns in the game! How can you even argue this game is well balanced.
So what i can tell is the GW is telling them to not add proper chaos customization because of lore reasons but GW can Gaslight people by saying there where always Female custodes?
Also on tactical, the left gauntlet has a spot on the wrist that doesn't match the selected color. (The non metallic ones like base and purity wrapped). It turns out as a brighter color than slected. Hope they can fix that and other color issues but based on what im hearing im confident theyll get to it.
Pvp crossplay on consoles should be a toggle with 3 options: vs all, vs console and disabled, with default being vs console. This allows it to be opt in vs pc players for those whom want to rise to the extra difficulty but also keep the larger and more casual playerbase from experiencing the extra difficulty of vs kb/m and/or cheats.
Most the classes in PVP are fine. People are just not playing correctly. Most new assault class players jump on top of you or Infront of you. Just double roll back & shoot. If they attack from the rear you can die before reacting to their attacks. Assault isn't underpowered. Bulwark only seems overpowered to some as they're coming up against players who know how to use the class. Again, people not learning ways to counter them. They're harder to move off objectives because that's their literal strength. Lol The heavies are fine tbh, slow, vulnerable but can dish out a lot of firepower and with their ability take a lot of punishment from shooting too. Only the vangaurd grappling hook range/ability against players stunning you so tou can't defend yourself just needs a little nerf. That's it.
Great comment. Also for vanguard if you have a frag or shock grenade, throw it at your feet as soon as you are out of the grapple stun and it almost guarantees a kill every time. If a vanguard thinks you will try to roll away they will just shoot you, so i just throw a grenade first and then roll
@@jesse76th96Thank you brother! I'll definitely try that, when I spank them in melee they roll back & spray with their faster firing carbine bolters. So the frag in their pocket trick could be one to try when I finish work a little later and get home. Lol
@@ConWWWYeah it can get annoying agreed. I play a tactical so use Auspex on the lanes the usual attacks will come from. Able to catch them out. But if your teammates are all servitors it feels like you vs their snipers most the match whilst your team never realises you're keeping them from getting flanked constantly. Lol
its good that they are keeping each class look a certain way in PVP, they shouldn't have all items for all classes. PVE on the other hand it shouldn't matter how you look and what classes you pick,
I want a game mode where you have 1 life as each of your classes first to deplete the opposing teams roster and if your out of space marines you can infinitely spawn as a guardsmen loyalist or chaos orientated depending on teams obviously but you should be just as squishy as the ones in the campaign it'd be great fun.
Class issues could be solved with a simple mouse over to show a icon, or they could have the same Approach from Final fantasy 14 displaying text above the head indicating the class.
Sniper and Vanguard counter the heavy, how is that even an issue. It sounds like people are just running in over and over again meeting a heavy shooting them down, rather than flanking or not derping into them again and again. Other than that, a pretty fair analysis.
How tf sniper counters the heavy?! You can't even kill them in 1 headshot. You shoot once, take half their health, then they turn on their shield and you go respawn.
@@UKAndrewL heavies still easily wreck snipers as they reload their rifles. Or roll away to get their shield up. This all would work if sniper had a 1 hit head shot. I really can't wrap my head around why it doesn't.
I think its GREAT that GW is looking after the lore. And i'm sure, as this game develops they'll realize that PvP is where you can be way more flexible.
Assault in my opinion needs a nerf not a buff, I’m a bulwark and have my shield up the assault slams down on me and takes some of my health while I have my shield up, I can’t do any damage back because I have to keep my shield up or that big ass hammer is going to deplete my health bar, but It doesn’t matter if I keep it up because the power slam heavy attack will just take all my health away any way, if I try do dodge away that doesn’t even matter because it’s range still gets me from the slam to the swing of it. When I try to attack an assault they fly in the air slam me and stun me then fly up again and rinse and repeat. We need a good parry system in PvP because it’s just unfair that if they slice my health away I can’t do anything back or else I die, I just have to keep blocking and pray the don’t use a heavy attack on me. I would like to be able to interrupt them or something…anything.
I play Assult mostly because its fun . Having peashooter that does nearly nothing as ranged weapon is real underwhelming , fighting melee you feel like you melt nearly instant and constantly try fish finishers to keep yourself alive whit sliver of hp. Jump packs feel horrible, you cant even jump over railings/upstairs/down from some cliffs even when its where you are gonna drop down anyway. Getting staggered out of charged heavy attack when literally your thunder hammer is allready in front of your head, its not like that kinda mass of hammer stops instant mid swing.
I'll go direct to the case... I'm a pvp player and i want crouch stance/ movement, shoulder swap camera and fix the tik damage of weapons. That's all...
Gonna have to disagree on the cloaks and robes, i agree with the dev team theyre important to the class based model. In a class based medium paced third person shooter, differentiation is important not just technical abilities but visually. You can tell a sniper based on the gun and the cloak ability sure but in the middle of a firefight while bullets and grenades are flying? I should be able to tell what kind of threat im facing from the look / silhouette alone. A great thing about Team Fortress 2 when it first came out was the ability to tell each character apart from the silhouette alone, and make a threat assessment instantly. This makes for good gameplay since you dont inaccurately assess a threat and go "WTF" when you got one shotted. They've ruined that since with their hats, but that was genuinely good design for a class based shooters. I think thats important here. Seeing a cloak flap next to a charracter model in the distance and my brain can instantly make the sniper threat assessment instead of having to wait for a shot to the head or a de-cloak. this isn't Call of duty after all
As someone whos been playing awhile i do think the difficulty could use abit of tweaking,or atleast have abit easier gateway to the harder difficulties via a more reliable way to get armory tokens as it can really suck to have to go into rutheless with only green gear and come out with no armory points bcs a boss didnt spawn or you couldnt find it,i think atleast the two actual bossfight missions should garuntee a armory point of the given difficulty
biggest beef with the content news is nothing is made to change PVP melee, currently it is like hitting air instead of enemy, no connection, no melee weapons clashing, no melee stagger. Ranged players can keep firing into assault's or bulwarks face despite being attacked in close quarters. Blocking enemy hits affects nothing, the other one just keeps smashing attack, giving no option to retaliate back. Other thing is that bulwark cant fucking parry in PVP. So thunderhammer is having a feast with bulwarks, whereas a bloody Heavy can manually block a thunderhammer swing with his heavy bolter! In Eternal Crusade, melee was at least somewhat talent based (rock-paper-scissor like) rather than this ADHD light attack spam that ignores armor.
I'd like to have customization for Space Wolves - wolf skulls and furs and stuff. Otherwise - everything they said is quite fair. Private lobbies NEED ASAP
To be clear I'm fine with each traitor class having legion-specific armor, I don't care for having a heavy with night lord bat wings and such. But not having any generic chaos armor options is a big loss, no matter which traitor legion you'll play as, vanguard will always have the berzerker horns and Khorne symbols, or bulwark will always look like a plague marine. At least they could make some variants of, say, the current tactical/black legion's armor for each class as the "generic" armor set, like how there are generic chaos space marine models in the TT that can easily be painted to look like any other legion and not be out of place.
Keep in mind that when they cite lore as a restriction, that may very well entail a limitation instated by GW, not themselves. Which the creative director has alluded to in comment responses.
They say that Chaos classes are built around lore but yet Khorne beserkers are running around with a knife and a rifle shooting people more than stabbing. I want to fly around as a berserker with a hammer or chain sword
They should release an expanded perk system so that if there are 4 different tactical marines, they can choose different specials. I know that would be an insane amount of work but still...more tactical choice can make the game even more special
I have all faith saber will add and balance this game, it's not even been out a month yet looking at the latest BF game on launch it was terrible but in it's current status it's 100% better. I have a few I like to see so I'd like to see what your community thinks of these. 1- A 5 v 5 terminator mode (or even a space hulk style pve mode. 2- council control mapping (the default set up button choice on ps5 does not feel natural let me put dodge to square not X 3- give us empire children and thousands sons( thousand sons models are already in the game super confused why they are not in the PvP)
I suspect Thousand Sons might turn up with a Librarian class. Then maybe Word Bearers with a Chaplain class and I suspect Emperor’s Children would come along with an Apothecary class. That would be my guess anyway.
Can wait till they add techmaines, apothecary, librarian and captains to space marine 2 and maybe some balancing to some of the guns and enemies (auto bolt rife and bolters in general ) (thousand sons marines ).
I can understand them not wanting to have chaos classes be swapped between legions because of armors and what not. Thats fine but at least go crazy on the customization then for those specific legions similar to the loyalist side.
I know it’s probably to much to ask but I’d love maybe in the next game a map and mode editor with the most popular maps and mods being brought over to the core experience also with a custom games browser
Keep the game difficult. All you players crying about it being too difficult when you’re alone or in general, try to get better. There’s people running through ruthless ops on their own while we speak. It’s achievable so work for it
Brother you must’ve not played much of the game or seen much in pve. People in ruthless mode are doing nothing but rolling constantly to avoid being one shot and are using the few weapons that aren’t severely underpowered.
Me personally, I think the difficulty is fine. It’s just that I do better with human players instead of bots. Most of the time the bots just stand around, shoot what you don’t shoot, and revive you when you’re down. They don’t focus important targets, they don’t coordinate fire with you, they don’t point out items that you missed, they’re just augments instead of teammates, and when I have actual humans with me that doesn’t happen
It needs a little tweak to make it a little more accessible. It's a grind at the moment and the power fantasy wanes when Goatmen tank multiple melee hits...
In terms of new classes..surely the chaplain class would be easier to implement first. They have a model for it already considering hes a big part of the campaign.
Bulwark banner needs Chapter specific banners.
Agreed. I think the customization should include actually choosing your chapter. So any future features that may represent your marine actually includes that stuff.
i heard this champion pack dark angel will be for bulwark so if banner will be dark angels maybe they will do it for others
Or at least make it a generic Imperial one.

FYI: I-frames are "invincibility frames", they're mostly meant to prevent a player (or enemy) getting stun locked to death or to allow to evade attacks. A great example is the roll in Dark Souls.
Better example here would be Executions ^^
I’d argue either give gun strikes s or have the ability to turn them off for higher difficulties. Several times I’ve tried to shoot my melta at a warrior, only to accidentally get locked into shooting a pistol at a minor gribbly and taking more damage than it’s worth.
@simonlarge2052 Weird, considering sometimes it just shoots with my main weapon and ignores the gun strike. I usually switch to my pistol to do it because I thought I had to

As far as the “lore” stuff.
@@LFXGamingExactly, the weapon profiles, shields, and other equipment already do enough to let you know what the enemy can do.

Also, the lore excuse they gave for Chaos is bs.
Bingo.
Yeah honestly the customization questions and answers really left a sour taste in my mouth, i know it’s likely GW but it still sucks.
God forbid we see a sniper world eater. Meanwhile there are 6 skittle marines in my team. Good one.
Chaos characters need a default armor set that isn't specific to a Chaos faction for each class. That would be perfect 👌
You’re the type that cheered for the Helldivers nerfs…
Overall*
Agreed on the class distinctions. No multiples of the same class per team allowed.
Pink eye has returned
I highly doubt GW will let them
@@BattleBro77 I agree brother captain. It seems the MK7 armor will remain only in the original Space Marine (2011) and become a relic of the past, much like the miniature sets, an much like in the lore. The non primaris marines are a dying breed. Sad times brother captin.
Chaplin and Agressor class would be Dope. And letting the Heavy use the Heavy Bolt Rifle would be mint. I want to play as a Heavy Intercessor
Something to keep in mind. If the weapons that people think are "OP" are all unlocked after lots of play, that means the people using them are all people who have played a lot. It could just be an experience/skill issue and not really need balancing. (I'm not saying "get gud", just that hours of play naturally will make you slightly better)
Bruh, the meta gun is op because the idiots forgot to balance it. It does EVERYTHING better than any other gun/melee.

I'm halfway to max rank but they should add a prestige system. I have no issue replaying with basic equipment
@@cirescythe "That's how you get a concord" is not equal to "Delay Space Marine 2 a year". Concord failed because it was yet another bad Overwatch clone with bad art and zero sex appeal. Simple as.

@@cirescythesounds like you’re just coping with the fact you’d have to wait another year before playing the game lol. “Hard disagree” 😂
I understand there are some stupid players but if Saber honestly thinks that most people would:
A. care about a World Eater sniper
B: Be unable to tell that the man with a big jump pack is an assault because he isn't a nightlord
Then they're pretty stupid themselves.

Yeah it's mostly to avoid abusing the mobility. The jump pack levels are designed around it but must of the games levels are not
Their whole answer for not allowing legion changes to classes is a load of nonsense.
They should let us add ornaments instead of different armour as a compromise
Also how to tell if someone is sniper class
A. Turns invisible
B. Has bolt carbine
@@silo_olis Agreed, it would be fairly easy to implement as well as the faces are already modled and textured
@ChapterMasterValrakk1 thanks mate! Let me try and work out how to hit you up… 😂
I'd really only change 2 things for PvP so far.
-Vanguard grapple should not* stun until they land the kick.
-Bulwark shield bash should stun enemies.
Other than that, it feels pretty balanced.
*Edited for clarity.
And parry should stun the attacker.
this is all fair changes I say
Vanguard grapple does stun the second it hits you. And it shouldnot, its op and cheap.
Vanguard grapple absolutely 'stuns' before the hit, as soon as the rope touches you the character shakes and cannot move.
@@RatchildUK yes 100% this is actually ejat I would change so people had a second to deal some damage. This should stop Headon assaults which are frankly cheesy
They could ad ranked versions of the game modes to restrict the options and make the regular to be just for fun and rewards alone while ranked also includes some more special armour pieces and things like that
Agree with the color palette sentiment, I'm using khorne red for blood ravens because the one they give us isn't bloody enough
Got the article to that?!
@@ChapterMasterValrak In french and behind paywall. However, I have the screencaps. Will send it to you on discord.
@@papazoulou9326Your duty does not end! Lol
€40 million for such a story rich game that plays & looks really good along with the co-op and PVP is great.
Those high quality cutscenes alone I thought would cost tens of millions. Lol
I strongly believe they should add several legions for each class at least.
Tactical> black legion, word bearers, thousand sons
Assault>night lords, black legion, and khorne
Bulwark> nurgle> iron warriors > black legion...
Yes, if they went full ultramarines with loyalist they eventually should go full black legion with traitors so if we can paint them to look like other traitor legions easier.
Im good with them just fixing the servers for now because gezzz...
HAND DECALS! I will be able to be a crimson fist instead of a Crimson Arm!
Dark Angels use cloaks too, i didnt know that they are all Snipers
Dark angles don't use cloaks for normal troopers, and they are very different from the cape on the sniper. The cloaks are largely worn by the higher level commanders or elite units. The majority of Dark Angels that wear cloaks focus on power sword usage, much like the bulwark that can currently already wear the hooded robes the DA wear.
Yes, but their should be cosmetic options for high ranking marines like the company veterans they are cloaked and use tactical marine weapons. So tactical should get a cloaked armor set too
being able to change my SMs face/skin colour will be a great bonus. I'm a Raven Guard successor player and none of the bare helmet models fit the legion and/or chapters that spawned from it (Raven Guard gene seed is known for causing their skin going alabaster white and almost translucent as they age) it'd be alot of work but I would like to see a series of heads to choose from and a skin tone gradient going from Raven guard pale white to Salamander obsidian black
I agree regarding robes, cloaks and tabards. personally i'd prefer the option to remove them entirely from my Marines. I dont need a see a loincloth to tell my marine is a Bulwak... the big ass ruddy shield kind of gives it away! at the end of the day the 1st legion on their 'unforgiven' children are on the way next... its going to be "MONK ROBES FOR EVERYONE!" soon enough
to be fair so far my grumbles about SM2 are either minor or cosmetic in nature. the vanguard/reaver class is missing the heavy bolt pistol from its side arm selection and it's also missing the fully enclose Vanguard helmet
Someone farted on his pillow again smh
The one point I specifically hated the AI bots, was the early mission where you have to clear Tyranids off of the communications tower in four places. You're basically forced to scramble all over the place by yourself and clear them, because the bots will only shoot the bugs they have direct simple line of sight to. They won't move to objectives, and they wont ensure they're cleared completely. And you're doing this while there's enemies spawning all over the place on the ground too. It was infuriating how useless they were.
A private lobby is a must, with options to be open and friends only.
Strange I usually hit around a 2.5 to 3.0 ktd and run top of the leaderboard using assault.
@jarlwilliam9932 my replies keep getting auto deleted and there's no abuse in them......
It's not gonna be face customization, we're most likely just gonna be able to change between the already available faces
So what i can tell is the GW is telling them to not add proper chaos customization because of lore reasons but GW can Gaslight people by saying there where always Female custodes?
Its their"fuck you" to the fans for being upset about the femstodes
New class Ideas
Chaplin/Dark Apostle (Word Bearers)
Terminators (Red Corsairs)
Apothecary (Emperor’s Children)
Librarian/Sorcerer (Thousand Sons)
Also on tactical, the left gauntlet has a spot on the wrist that doesn't match the selected color. (The non metallic ones like base and purity wrapped). It turns out as a brighter color than slected. Hope they can fix that and other color issues but based on what im hearing im confident theyll get to it.
What about skin Customization? My Salamanders look European.
Lol
The heavies are fine tbh, slow, vulnerable but can dish out a lot of firepower and with their ability take a lot of punishment from shooting too.
Sniper invis/smg combo needs to be brought down more than anything imo.
I was going to say the same thing. Vanguard is a direct counter to the bulwark, sniper counters heavy.
@robertwood9572 if there was a ranking system like halo for instance, I think it would sort out the various skill issues for players
How tf sniper counters the heavy?! You can't even kill them in 1 headshot. You shoot once, take half their health, then they turn on their shield and you go respawn.
@over9000lord because they are sitting ducks when shooting, and they dont always have sheild on.
🤣 Devs are worried about lore yet in operations the characters you are playing are ultramarines cosplaying as other chapters! 🤦
I just want a librarian. They already have the chaos model.
So what I heard about Chaos customization was that I won't be doing a Plague Marine Tactical or Heavy any time soon. Feels bad man...
Anyone else notice how much Shaderak, Valrak, and Foilrak seem so similar? Do you think it's an Alpha legion thing?
I think Fabius Bile cloned the original
@@BattleBro77 so he is a heretic?
Keep in mind that when they cite lore as a restriction, that may very well entail a limitation instated by GW, not themselves. Which the creative director has alluded to in comment responses.
They say that Chaos classes are built around lore but yet Khorne beserkers are running around with a knife and a rifle shooting people more than stabbing. I want to fly around as a berserker with a hammer or chain sword
They should release an expanded perk system so that if there are 4 different tactical marines, they can choose different specials. I know that would be an insane amount of work but still...more tactical choice can make the game even more special
chapter icons on right pauldrons, so we can make proper deathwatch characters.

2- council control mapping (the default set up button choice on ps5 does not feel natural let me put dodge to square not X
3- give us empire children and thousands sons( thousand sons models are already in the game super confused why they are not in the PvP)
I suspect Thousand Sons might turn up with a Librarian class. Then maybe Word Bearers with a Chaplain class and I suspect Emperor’s Children would come along with an Apothecary class.
That would be my guess anyway.
Dodge on square? What about reload? I can see dodging being on circle but not square…. Typically every other game circle is used for that mechanic.
I'm on veteran, so I'ma try to beat it before they adjust it
I know it’s probably to much to ask but I’d love maybe in the next game a map and mode editor with the most popular maps and mods being brought over to the core experience also with a custom games browser
Keep the game difficult. All you players crying about it being too difficult when you’re alone or in general, try to get better. There’s people running through ruthless ops on their own while we speak. It’s achievable so work for it
"look at me I use the meta and I can "solo" it dont mind the AI helping me and saving my bum at times" yea I seen the game play its trash
God forbid people want to enjoy the game.
Just because some gamers can do something, doesn't mean the vast majority of the rest of them want to.
Primary issue in PvE is health system. It's unbearable even if you have perfect parry/ dodge technique.
Being able to customise the weapon load out for bots in campaign and PVE would be fantastic thanks.
