I've been using that software for a while now and have the best mixes in my career so far and landed the biggest album so I can safely say it works. However just like anything you need to be constantly using it and learn the sound like the back of your hand
can't mix without Realphones now. Also will never go back to listening to music for pleasure without this software. 'Pleasure Listening' from the 1.8 legacy presets is my personal fave.
Got this after trial for a week. It's invaluable. Your comment about how it "wakes you up" to issues you may not have noticed after long sessions is right on the money.
I have a very poor acoustic space at home and thats why I've been using my speakers less and less as I have been using the V1 for about two years and I can say the V2 is a MAJOR, major upgrade in terms of sound. The new environments just sound uncanny in many cases and the different modes in each environment offer super useful perspectives into the mix and individual elements. The version 2 is really worth every penny.
Something the product industry should always be working on is better headphone mixing solutions. The number of professional mix engineers with big studios that will undoubtedly travel at times need it just as much as us on a budget
Hey David, I'm just here to say I appreciate you always pumping out quality videos and always providing new info for the community. You always bring good vibes man and it's really appreciated. Much love and God bless ya brother 🤙♥️
Dave, Thank you for all these great videos you have been making. They are excellent. I hope you do the SSL bus + verses WesAudio NG Bus compressor soon.
What is in this plugin turns out to be a simulation of different audio spectrums in your headphones. If anyone is using this (similar to the Abby Rhodes 3 plugin) the best quality headphones are essential, and most importantly, you need to be able to hear your mix from monitors as soon as possible, which will sound far away from you.
Sonarworks Sound ID is much better for headphone frequency correction, but Realphones is better at simulating spaces and environments. The good news is, you can use both at the same time as system-wide (that's what I do) to get the best of both worlds.
I have been mixing with the CLA-Nx by Waves and the Sony MDR7506 for a while, I like it but haven't tried any alternatives yet. What do you think of the CLA-Nx?
(I have waves Oceanway and Nx Germano... Any suggestions on which dsoniq version to get based on what I already have? Standard$54 ...Professional $82 ... Ultimate $120 ... 🤔
I have Sienna and I am a big Acustica Audio fan. But Realphones is soooooo much better. I uninstall Sienna. But it have almost no effect on my AKG K 812, because its linear right of the box.
Without dedicated hardware for the software, you're just getting phasy room noise. That's why Slates VSX wipes the floor with these "Calibrated for different headphones" software packages like this, waves and similar software only "room emulations".
@@Kommentar_Roboter Agreed: I'm trying the trial and when I switched to the studio environments from the headphone reference I nearly fell off my chair, it was like the headphones just simply disappeared. I've tested a few of these (altho not VSX) and this wipes the floor with everything else I tried to date. And once you've listened for a while you really start "seeing" where the mix is lacking.
@DreamGamers4Life oh really? Let me show you how idiot your comment is before sending you back to gaming: the fact that I am lucky enough to be able to work (note: work as in making my living off my mixes and mastering hence not needing to "sell out" to anyone, and it has been the case for decades) in not one but two professional studios, doesn't mean that I'n not aware that many of my followers do not have that option. Hence, I'm here helping them and showing how they can make things easier IF they have no other option other than mixing on headphones. Because my gaming friend, I don't sell plug-ins. So of all channels out there, I'm pretty sure you are blabbering at THEEE wrong one. Now you can go back to your gaming console in your room before I straight up ban you for making idiotic comments like that. Go.

Hey, can you tell me which presets did you decide to go with and learn?
@ayraninnit if you use any can you tell me 😂😂
@@zephigh I don't use any anymore bro. Doing everything on speakers now.
@@ayraninnit Then good day to you my man
This plugin helps a lot : we know our music will finish in two options : smartphones or cars (no bass or too much bass 🤣)

This is what I use with Sony mdr7506 the $99 headphones and still get mixes to translate
That is the sound of well translating mixes there. We NEED to have your room in the plugin ;)
We can try to make it happen
I agree. We need it)
Best headphone solution 🫡

Using it. With calibrated headphones of course. In my opinion it’s overestimated. But it is better than nothing.

Excited to try this plugin out! Thanks for the review!! Have a great weekend!
Im presuming you mixed this song, sounds good on every option which i suppose means you did a great job!
Yes, and thank you!
Yeah, Realphones slays VSX, also you're not stuck with their cheap & flimsy chinese headphones
Everything was pretty good, but the car test blew my freaking mind. Sold me instantly.
that reggae joint sound sick
Thank you, doing 3 riddim right now for the same production 👍
Do you prefer this over Morphit?
I notice you moved the correction knob here and there, when am I supposed to be moving the correction slider when mixing? Would I not have it at 100%
Thank you Sir for your awesome content!!
would you happen to know which version of real phones is the demo version?
You should do another video on your Stamchild. Now that you have used it for a while, how do you feel about it and what does it work well on. Tricks?
Is the Version 2 free for owners from Version 1? Thanks for Information
I have the slate digital VSX headphones for emulation, did I make the wrong purchase decision? is Realphones 2.0 better then VSX?
I haven't tried VSX, I hear people loving both
if you dont have good monitors or room acoustics...realphones and headphones are the ticket !

You're missing literally half of the plugin
I may have missed this but does the simulated environment include crosstalk?
Yes it does, altho' some HP amps and monitor controllers now have that option (which I personally don't like that much)
Better than Sienna ?
How does this compare to Sonarworks SoundID Reference with the Virtual Monitoring Add-on?
Sonarworks Sound ID is much better for headphone frequency correction, but Realphones is better at simulating spaces and environments. The good news is, you can use both at the same time as system-wide (that's what I do) to get the best of both worlds.
Realphones 2.0 vs. Slate vs. Waves?
Realphones
Vsx!
mate what do you think about the beyerdinamic 990 or 770 pro senheizer is much better?. Thanks for your content.
I have very limited experience with those, not enough to say
Sennheiser is better indeed, but beyerdynamic phones are pretty flat, they have a pronounced high though
How to load harman AutoEq profiles for a headphone a not included in Realphones list ?
I have been mixing with the CLA-Nx by Waves and the Sony MDR7506 for a while, I like it but haven't tried any alternatives yet. What do you think of the CLA-Nx?
Never tried that sorry
At first time i liked cla nx it but you lose transparency. Realphones is the best tool i ever trie😊d for my HP and got the bigest customisation.
Realphones is better and bigger. Check the 40 days trial.
(I have waves Oceanway and Nx Germano... Any suggestions on which dsoniq version to get based on what I already have?
Standard$54 ...Professional $82 ... Ultimate $120 ... 🤔
Pro is the best bang
I'll buy it if it works on linux OS...I'll test the trial...
That reggae 😍
It's for headphones isn't it?
what’s the best correction % to mix with ? l mix hip hop vocals
Correction? You most likely want 100% (and genre doesn't matter) that's what makes your hp linear
I have Sienna and I am a big Acustica Audio fan. But Realphones is soooooo much better.

Well... blackbox audio finally have finish their EQ!!!
I hope you get a hands-on with that when it's ready to go out
Black Box Analog Design *
Obviously, you know... saw your comment
Yes Eric showed it to me some time ago, he said the 1st one is mine he's coming to bring it to me (we live very close) 👍
@mixbustv wow, you're the guy to see it first through... I can't wait!!!... waited so long I completely forgot about it 😂
Damn that’s good

"dedicated hardware" meaning a pair of headphones? Ok.
Try it for yourself. It's extremly realistic.
