Exactly, the husband was the better person. The wife came off as the hard femnist, masculine independent attitude and boss chic. Like all women are perfect attitudes. This is why most women don't stay married, they can't see the bigger picture for the purpose of marriage. Too much independence and head strong makes couples bump heads, because only the man is supposed to have that level of masculinity and leadership

People do have difference in opinion and do all war at times, but That comes to show all women then, because most black women come up with the concept that other races of men are all better than black men, so now the world can see, how even when most black women date and marry other races, that there is still dysfunction and toxic confusion. Though marriage isn't perfect for any races, there is and still should be a level of respect.

Difficult person you say? What the hell did he see in her? Sad part about it, there are wives in real life just like this monster. Not going to say what he should have done or not. Marriage is for keeps, God doesn’t like divorce, those involved in difficult marriages must work their way through it. Thurman’s character Jordie, did not become that since they were married, that, race, race, race” issue was always there. Some of us find it repulsive to be talking about race 24/7, people who do that become bitter, entitled individuals grossly in need of inner peace.

@@andreasmith1836 He was trying... AND ALSO it is up to each individual to determine who to give grace to, or not. And where was HER grace??
She showed him grace throughout a multitude of ignorant and questionable comments he made, & all while she was suffering a traumatic time and worried about the place of she and her child in the country in which she resides.
She was "trying" as well, whilst facing something that the husband didn't personally relate to - let alone understand. But you're more concerned for HIS grace?? Lol The grace that he did receive, btw.
But this is the typical reponse for the experience of Black women in this country. Reside in trauma while trying to feel your way through and work it out.... but also worry constantly about everyone else's grace, even when they intentionally or UNINTENTIONALLY keep repeating ignorance that adds to their harm??
This is victimization, the proverbial overused "race-card" playing. This is a fcking REALITY which many don't understand nor care to.

@@robinvolpi I do understand. I was raised in the south during the 60’s. So I have seen segregation first hand. And a Black woman to boot! I am not saying there was not validity and dismissal on both sides. I have just been through enough in my lifetime and seen enough; to understand that marriage is hard enough on its own. I have always known that marriages fall apart from the inside out. Seldom is it the reverse. COVID was tough on everyone. But, I am sure that the things he said and felt were not new. But now their emotions can’t be dismissed or pinned. It had to be dealt with and dealing is not always fun or easy.
No one was forced into the marriage, but staying in the marriage is a choice. I understand all your points and as I stated earlier, I feel personally that some of her anger was misdirected at him. These issue were not new, but perhaps they never made or took the time to address them. Now we have to address them and as the person I love and have a child with. We need to extend each other grace to work through the pain. Cause it is tough and my Blackness has been deeply traumatized. I do appreciate your response. Thank you!!!
