Totally shocked on the price increases, it was forecast for the prices to increase (50-60% increase) but not this level (300%). Personally I think there is some market manipulation going on here.
Absolutely market manipulation going on for sure. I think anytime something drastic happens people take advantage and try to get a piece of the pie. As a collector, I absolutely hate it. To us it's cool to see the value of the collection, but honestly it's just a number. We never plan on selling it and it'll be our son's someday.
Yeah, it's wild out there right now with 360 unless we see something for a killer deal that we absolutely have to have I think we're pretty happy with what we have in the collection now and probably won't be adding more to it.
The Xbox 360 spike I actually felt like came pretty late. 360 games have mostly been cheap for years, and very abundant. The store closure announcement caused these skyrocket. Great video guys!
I think consumers affect the market greatly. So many people were focused on PS3 that Xbox 360 flew under the radar for a while. We only want what we can't have I guess lol
WILD watching the prices go off eh!? I've been updating the values in my collection app and shaking my head at the prices. You're got some solid ones in the 360 collection: loved seeing your top 10. So far this is feeling eerily like the WiiU and 3DS situation last year... Except this time, Im not trying for a full set XD.
Probably best you're not going for a full set on these ones because dear God... You'd have to build a new game room! It's crazy though because the list keeps fluctuating and I'm sure we could go back through this top 10 and they would be different. Crazy times out there for sure
Just completed the full 360 set. The last month it’s been a fight against rising prices, but I’m so happy to be done. Like yall mentioned skipping the $40 games before, it really bit me in the backside not buying the last few years.
Bruh that's wild you have the full set! My kids and I started collecting right before covid cause it was cheap, 355 and counting..but I'm done with this craziness and can wait till things drop as they tend to do
Yes, I agree. The prices will certainly continue to rise. No wonder at what point? PS3 will close and if that will affect things too. It's crazy how no one really cares about a system until it's gone
Its Less listing for a lot for these games as time goes by . Like we down to the last 20 games listed on eBay. I don’t see prices going down by much if game spiked at 110 USD it may settle at $80 if not it will reach its new peak your best option will be going to GameStop and pawn shop finding mispriced games
Surprise! I forgot to comment 😂 I can’t believe how much Wet has gone up! I completely forgot about that game it’s a gem 💎 I think it was inspired by Kill Bill. I’m truly shocked at Saw, 50cent and that mech game 😮 I wish I never traded my 360 games back in the day, possibly the best lineup of games in history.
Crap, sorry to hear you traded them all out! We really got started on the 360. It was the first console our son got into so it has a lot of nostalgia. Definitely a fantastic library of games and can you believe the console will be 20 years next year?!
Yeah it's insane out there with right now with 360 games. I've come to the conclusion unless I can see the few. I still want locally and I can trade towards them. I won't bother getting them unless they drastically come down in price. I have close to 1600 games. I'm not lacking for things to play. LOL
Glad I picked a lot of these up when the prices were very reasonable several years back. Just nuts now! Don’t remember this happening when the PlayStation store was going to shut down 3 years back. I mean a lot of these aren’t even exclusive to 360. I bought a few digitally for $20 each on the store while it’s open and may end up selling the physicals at some point (Otomedius/Fatal Inertia) depending.
Yeah I don't remember the PS3 going this insane either. I mean a few games I can think of. Went up quite a bit and then came reasonably back down but never to this extent.
Those prices are insane!!! The big question is will you sell now and gamble on prices dropping later then pick the items back up again and make a profit? My 360 collection is mainly triple A titles which have not spiked like that
Nope, definitely won't be gambling and selling. Not willing to put that on the line, especially since it'll be Alex's in the future and it's where he got his start gaming. The prices are complete madness. I'll dip into price charting every now and again just to see how much the market has gone up. Our entire collection on the 360 has increased at this point by $1700!
@@RetroRivals i could only afford the cheapest of the cheap but thats how I ended up with games like Dark Spire and Little Red Riding Hood Zombie BBQ. No one else wanted em. I just wish I had bought Solatorobo when it was $10 at GameStop back then
How tf did Wet shoot up in prices like that?! I remember seeing that in every shop like 3 years ago for 10-15 bucks… I don’t think I’ll ever understand the resale market lol. Because that was a Bethesda published title I think, so there should still be plenty of copies floating around out there…. so bizarre
Yeah Wet being as expensive as it is, is mind-boggling! It's weird because I keep going back into the price charting app. Just out of curiosity to see how much the 360 collection has gone up in value. As of today, it's increased by $1,800. It's stupid! At this point we're not adding any games to 360 collection but that was also true a year ago. There's maybe a handful that have always been on the wish list that we just haven't seen and I'm not adding them when the market is artificially inflated. I can wait. I have a few other games I can play LOL
Ooh those Beatles Rock Band peripherals look so cool! I had no idea those existed! I used to have a lot of Guitar Hero and Rock Band things, but like everyone else, they got thrown out and now they are so expensive to try and replace! I have recollected most of the 360 rhythm games I want (still need Green Day Rock Band) but I have yet to pick up a guitar!
I think we're one of the few that continue to play rock band over the years so we've put a lot of money into investing in that. You should see how much the adapter to play it on the Xbox one goes for. It's insane! Green Day rock band is freaking awesome! Getting up there in price though 😔
You're not wrong. At the time we recorded the video it had been about a month where things had really started to spike. I would say we got lucky and started collecting early but we missed the boat on collecting PS2 and Xbox earlier to get the better deals. So we didn't want the same thing to happen with the 360.
I’ve been looking at getting a 360 again for some titles are aren’t playable on series X. Systems are still really cheap and I’m hoping to grab a few titles before people catch on that they are going way up in value. Great video! Still waiting for that Q&A 😆
Lol I promise another Q & Eh when we reach 10K.... So sometime in 2027 LOL Systems are still cheap and that's at least the good part, but I think it's going to be hard to find those games cheap now which is sad
Dude, I've bought so many xbox 360 for 2 to 5 bucks a piece back when GameStop was basically dumping inventory and doing but 2 get 2. Alot of those are now stupid expensive.
I wish we would have done the same thing. They had already started phasing out the 360 games by the time we started heavily collecting. At our GameStop we only get current gen and very few last gen. Ps4 and Xbox one seem to be the exception though since well you know....
Man prices over there are crazy. I just bought Wet here in the Netherlands last week for 2,50 euros/ 3.71 cad dollars And the average price is like 7 cad dollars for that game. bulletwitch and ninja blade go here for like 15 cad dollar. The 50 cent game is also pretty expensive here though.
Holy!!!! I had to go check it out on price charting to see what it's going for now and that's insane! Our lame stop doesn't have any older gen games only current and last. I would imagine though if they had it now they would definitely be pricing it according to this crazy inflation.
I've been collecting 360 and ps3 games 3 years before the series x and ps5 come out. Alot of mine don't have the manual and are beaten up but they were cheap. As long as the game works that's all I care about. My collection is dirt and grit collection but I think it gives a little charm personally. Some were ex rentals with the stickers still on it and my way of thinking I was the last one to own the copy out of all the people that rented it.
Smart way to collect. We missed getting into collecting PS2 and XBOX OG when it was dirt cheap so we made sure to get ahead of the game in the 7th generation. The stickers do make it cool from that perspective. As someone that loves art and paints I have to take the stickers off because I love the cover art and want to see it and display it. If it's on the back it doesn't bother me as much.
Oh I had no idea about that! It's weird because things in price charting show up differently than on eBay in our price charting that's still showing $78, but it's because it hasn't caught up with itself yet
Fist of the north star makes sense since kens rage 2 only was released on xbox (same with zoids, onechanbara, culdecept saga etc) and the only way to play it on ps3 is importing a pal copy. Marvel gold edition also will be expensive since you can't get the DLC characters anymore and they are stuck on the disc This video seems to be shot a while ago because the US prices are way more insane. After seeing people like Mr. Wright Way make some many fomo vids with thumbnails like "hurry and buy this now!!" Its no wonder scalpers and resellers are grabbing up these games.
Yeah we shot the video close to a month ago. Didn't want to put this out as a hurry up and buy these games now more our shock on how much they've gone up and how ridiculous it is.
Sony talk about closing the PS3 store, the Sony Ponies rallied and stopped that nonsense. Microsoft are shutting the 360 store, and not a peep from the X-Bots 🤷♂️ proof positive that team blue are the true passionate gamers 😉 Nice score on the Beatles Rock Band 😍
Bahahaha good one! Honestly I think Xbox is just throwing in the towel anyways. I think people can sense it and they're not willing to fight for a console market that doesn't want to fight for itself.
I think it's crazy how all these game's for all platforms are skyrocketing in price's, even NES, SNES, and some Genesis games, it's mind boggling. 10 year's or so ago, you wanted NES,SNES game's you could find them dirt cheap, now game's like Dragon Warrior 4 is over a $100.00 dollars, Drmons Crest is over $100.00, where does it end, the only way you can get these game's is if you download an emulator, and get it for free, but it's not the same, like you guy's I'm a physical media collector and feel it's way better than playing on an emulator.
Even in the 5 to 7 years we've really been hardcore collecting. We've seen a big jump in prices, especially since covid. I hate the idea of emulating too, but we've started dipping our toe into the pool a little bit more because there's just some games we're never going to be able to get. I know what you mean about it. Just not feeling the same though because Scott and I both played Castlevania symphony of the night and absolutely loved it and we played it on original hardware and Denis played it just recently on PS4 and didn't like it nearly as much.
I bought the anniversary castlevania collection for the PS4, and yeah I love it, but it's just not the same, you're gonna think I'm crazy, but I had Castlevania 1&2 on the NES, but traded them in last year, to buy some other game's I wanted, because I bought the Anniversary Collection at a Retro game swap meet here in California, because of the fact I wanted all the game's on the collection, but knew I wouldn't be able to afford the original copies of each game
Yes, we can certainly do that. We likely won't do another Xbox 360 video like this. I don't want to inundate the community with only this content but when we do game reviews or pickups we typically mention prices so I can do that going forward
Some amazing and valuable games you've shown in this one! Got to admit that I'm a bit jealous about a couple of them lol! But like you said, I'm not going full FOMO mode on these because some of them will come back down in price eventually. Will they become cheap again? Probably not but at least I won't need to take up a 2nd mortgage to buy them! Some of them though will keep their inflated value like Marvel UA Gold because of the added bonus of the DLC being on the disc! It would be cool if you revisit this same list in a year to see how much it has changed! Great video and keep up the good work!
Honestly a revisit would be really cool to see if they have come down after the hype has worn off. I agree, now is not the time to buy because the fomo is insanity! We've even had to stop ourselves cuz there's a couple that we've heard about now that everyone's talking about 360, but I can't justify it.
Oh, I'm very certain Microsoft is not going to do anything substantial or mind-blowing with their exclusive announcements this summer. They seem to be on the way out or they want to be a streaming service only. It's like a fire sale over there!
Prices are stoooopid, I am defo with Scott, it is baffling. The bubble will burst, its 😊a trending topic at the moment, with some content creators shouting from the rooftops...but dont actually know what they are talking about or have not actually played any of the games. Cool vid and really interesting to see how much these games are getting "artificially inflated" Top Stuff ✌️
Really hating the artificial inflation and there's a few games that we've been wanting to get for quite some time, but you know what? I agree the market will come down even if it's not all the way and now is not the time to buy and be part of the madness
I will have to check my collection to see if I have some of these and maybe trade or sell for other games I want. Mostly I do rpg's and I have the ones I want for the 360
That's very smart. We're all about keeping what you like and trading out what you don't! Part of our plan this year is to play through even more of our Xbox 360 games and trim the fat
I'm very confused. You literally just said you'd rather emulate them and then no choice but to pay the price because you can't emulate them. We're not trying to jack up the prices here. Typically we do a lot of game reviews, pickups, topic pieces.
Luckily I gave up on fomo years ago and I'm better for it, it's a terrible trap but you soon realize there are way too many games on various different consoles that it would be impossible to have them all so I just focus on what I actually want to play . Luckily when people were panicking over the PS3 games a few years ago, I went in and got most 360 games for cheap, blue dragon for 5 pounds, wet for 4 pounds , lost odyssey for 6 pounds . Not that it is worth anything but I kept my sealed red dead redemption Canadian version on the 360 too lol which I got for like 3 dollars
Yeah we learned really quick to stop chasing the FOMO. We built the bulk of our collection in a 3-year span when Scott and I were both looking to jobs so we had lots of disposable income. Now that I took a big pay increase and we both only work one job, we have come to the conclusion that some games we are just never ever going to have and that is perfectly fine because there are a number of ways to play them not physically LOL. I think you hit the nail on the head when you said the main focus is to play the games and we honestly couldn't agree more.
Yes, they will remain high because the online store is shutting down and people are realizing what excellent games the 360 and PS3 had compared to the crap being released today. You featured games from different genres and levels of creativity not seen in today's games.
I totally completely agree. I was actually talking to Scott about this the other day in regards to horror games that have been coming out and I feel like it's a lot of jumpscares for no reason and sounds and atmosphere without any real agency in the game and fear of dread that you might die. A bunch of glorified walking sims with a horror filter
Love to see people always yapping about collection value, go sell it and see what you get about 1/4, of what price charting has it listed for.. Value means nothing it's only worth what people are willing to pay.
Very, very rarely do we ever talk about value of a collection. You should go watch some of our other videos. Trust me we play our games and we have no interest in selling them. We're just shocked by the market and how much it's gone up.
The Playstation store Never ended up closing that's why prices came down. Xbox is permanently closing theirs. so the prices are not guaranteed to go down this time. It unpredictable what it will do gamecube didn't go down and either did the rare games on PS2.
It's hard to predict what will happen since Xbox is in a weird place right now and hasn't had a good console release since the 360 era. Might very well stay up because of that. It's anyone's guess really
I hope so too. It's unfortunate but the games that are increasing are because they have DLC or low print run. I heard Saw II is not great so I get what you're saying.
We're certainly not trying to spike the prices. We're not resellers or scalpers. Just covering what we've been noticing inside our collection. Typically we cover more of our gaming and pick ups without talking about prices.
I actually love the sound of cases clicking shut!
I'm with you I actually enjoy it too. I understand it though for the people with the headphones 😂😂😂😂
Totally shocked on the price increases, it was forecast for the prices to increase (50-60% increase) but not this level (300%). Personally I think there is some market manipulation going on here.

I know! It was inevitable, happy we got them when we did
I don’t think the prices will be calming down. The online store hasn’t even closed yet. My bet is that they will spike even higher.

Great video you guys. Selling my Xbox 360 and games. Not a fan of Microsoft. Hopefully they change my mind this summer with exclusive announcements.
Cool vid and really interesting to see how much these games are getting "artificially inflated"
Top Stuff ✌️
Really hating the artificial inflation and there's a few games that we've been wanting to get for quite some time, but you know what? I agree the market will come down even if it's not all the way and now is not the time to buy and be part of the madness
I bought kens rage 2 on eBay for 59$ three months ago
That's an absolute steal and you got it at just the right time!
Emulating these games are a pain so I have no choice to pay these damn prices especially being in a Xbox nostalgic mood
I'm very confused. You literally just said you'd rather emulate them and then no choice but to pay the price because you can't emulate them. We're not trying to jack up the prices here. Typically we do a lot of game reviews, pickups, topic pieces.
@@RetroRivals the xbox360 emulator is hard to emulate compared the original Xbox emulator so I sadly I gotta buy em if I wanna play em!
Nice Video ! Sub & Big Like ! And Love Xbox360 Games !
Thanks so much for the sub and the like. It really means a lot. Xbox 360 is a fantastic console. Happy to hear you agree
I'm going to get my own Dragon Age inquisition deluxe edition xbox 360 video game
That's awesome!!
I scored wet for 20.00 cdn a month ago. From amazon
That's freaking amazing!! We've had similar scores on Amazon as well.
Dammit my comments keeps disappearing
I'm seeing them unless you're putting something in the comments that TH-cam is flagging we never delete anything
Hopefully these games come back down in a couple years. Most of these games are crap
I hope so too. It's unfortunate but the games that are increasing are because they have DLC or low print run. I heard Saw II is not great so I get what you're saying.
Stupid i mean i respect the hustle and dedication but its stupid it only spike up the prices between scalpers
We're certainly not trying to spike the prices. We're not resellers or scalpers. Just covering what we've been noticing inside our collection. Typically we cover more of our gaming and pick ups without talking about prices.
I really dislike the title of this video.
Curious what you would have titled it. Always open to constructive criticism and ideas. Thanks for your input 😊
