We prefer Tulum bc of its newly renovated style, rooms, children’s activities and proximity to the beach 👍🏻 we’ve been to Mexico in October and have always had great weather - even though it’s hurricane season
Coba, yes - Akumal, no. Tulum and Coba are “Grand” hotels and Akumal and Asian Ka’an are “luxury” hotels, so you can only visit hotels in your category.
The process of booking is easy on the Bahia Principe app - just make sure to book them early on in your trip as the popular restaurants book up pretty fast 👍🏻 thanks for watching! 😊
Hi guys. We're thinking of booking between here and riu palace costa mujeres. We have 4 kids to keep entertained. Which one would you recommend? Thanks, from UK
That’s a tough one! BP Tulum has great splash pads and kids areas, but the beach isn’t great. RP Costa Mujeres has lots of great activities for kids, an amazing beach, but no splash area. It depends on what you’re prioritizing
@@WherewegoingNext Thanks for the reply. The wife is a huge beach lover, so thinking we'll go with the Costa mujeres. Kids can always use dunamar slides right.
The beach looks beautiful. I am going on April 9 and I think there will be a lot more seaweed though 😢 I didn’t know it came at certain times of the year
@@sempercrazy101 I actually got back from my trip a couple weeks ago, and yea to be honest with you the service wasn’t the best just based on the fact there is no mobile drink service (where they take drink orders and give them to you when you are chillin on the beach or pool) you have to go up the the bar. Also, you have to line up at the bar in a line..like isn’t the point of a bar to be able to crowd around it? that was annoying. Also, I am a big tipper for better service and I didn’t notice any better service for the tips I gave at all. but honestly other than that it was great, the beach was beautiful with almost no seaweed, our room was perfect. Fridge always restocked and room always cleaned and the AC was a lifesaver to cool off. The food was pretty good too, some of the a la cartes aren’t actually a la cartes though and they are buffet as well, which was disappointing.
@@AmmarNomani it was beautiful with no seaweed for about 80% of the trip but near the end the wind was crazy and that’s what brought out the seaweed, luckily we didn’t see much of that though. It really just depends on the weather. The beach was beautiful when it was calm Edit: sorry I didn’t see you reply earlier
Hi! Thank you for the review! Lookin to go to Mexico this summer We are a family of 4 with my two kids who are 12 and 14 We have been to Aruba The waters are beautiful Any beach resorts that are similar to Aruba waters or even better that you recommend? Really appreciate any feed back!
We haven’t been to Aruba 🤷🏼♀️ but if you’re looking for amazing beaches, we would recommend RIU Palace Peninsula in Cancun, or any resorts around that one 👍🏻 another great spot is Bahamas 👍🏻
That’s a tough one! Depends on your budget and what you prioritize in a vacation 🤷🏼♀️ Tulum is newly renovated, right on the ocean and has great restaurants and pools … whereas Coba is not on the beach, older rooms and resort, but amazing pools as well and great entertainment- great for families 👍🏻 you can’t go wrong with either 🙌🏻
What would be the best place to go for kids coba or tulum? It’s extra £300 for tulum. Also I quite like the bay beach area are tulum residents allowed to use this area of is it strictly for combs residents?
Both hotels have lots of amenities and entertainment for kids - but Tulum is newly renovated and more modern. It’s also on the beach, whereas Coba is not. Tulum can use Coba facilities, but Coba can’t use Tulum’s.
Either Tulum or Coba. They both have great water parks for kids. Tulum is newer and right on the beach, whereas Coba is set back from the beach, but is more budget friendly.
@@WherewegoingNextthank you… how’s the beach…is there rocks in the water? I almost book Coba n my travel agent told me that it’s 15 to 20 minutes from the Coba n suggested Telum, hence looking at reviews like yours.
Sorry maybe I missed this but can you use all the amenities at Tulum and Coba if you are booked at one of these resorts? I take it Sian Kan and Luxury Akumal is separate from Coba and Tulum, amenities wise.
Tulum can visit Coba, but not vice versa. Correct, Sian Ka’an are in the Luxury category - so also not allowed to visit 🤷🏼♀️ they full list of rules is listed on their respective websites under “all inclusive” 👍🏻

We haven’t been to any of the Dreams hotels, so can’t comment. BP Tulum a a good family resort, although geared more towards smaller kids. Beach is not the best, but good food options. I mentioned in your other comments that we recommend RP Costa Mujeres - we think that will tick all your boxes. We went on an adult vacation and had a great time, and saw lots of families enjoying their trip as well. The beach is excellent, the pools are great, food and service is great, water park next door, lots of activities.. list goes on. This is a newer resort, so the rooms and amenities are very nice 👍🏻 Make sure to check out our full tour, buffet tour, and room tours of that place!
@@WherewegoingNext thank you very much. We're trying to stay in an area closer to where we can take an excursion to Chichén Itzá and/or Coba for the day. I think that's why my travel agent suggested the ones I listed but not sure. I appreciate your videos and for the quick reply.
I’m looking at the cost of the in-room Wifi of $16./ day. My telus travel plan is also $16./day. So my question is, how’s the cell signal in the rooms? Vs their own in-room wifi? Which is betting. I’m sure the internet is very important for you as a blogger.
The wifi is excellent throughout the resort and it’s free. We didn’t need to use our phone plans at all - we used FaceTime or WhatsApp for wifi calling. We don’t think you’ll need to buy wifi 👍🏻
@@WherewegoingNext That’s interesting. Even the resort website states you get 1hr of free wifi at the resort lobby only . Perhaps it’s free through out the resort just before you were there last. Thanks again.
place sucked in my opinion as a person who experienced Cancun more than once. Reservation process sucked, buffet was repetitive everyday, my suite was eh and the place is understaffed and it showed. Much better off staying at a AMR resort.
@@Pokekrew So your everyday options besides the buffet are the truck, andale burger, and the poolside snack. the truck and andale burger menus do not change and the poolside snack has something different everyday. As far as the restaurants go they are part of the all inclusive as well but you can only dine at those 3 times per week and each require a reservation which is difficult to acquire because the 8 or so restaurants serve all 4 resorts. If you want something particular your best bet is to try and reserve in advance but that is a task itself depending on how you booked your trip. If good dining will be a fixture of your stay I would personally recommend to stay elsewhere.

Great...I'm looking to book today...would you say the extra $$ are worth booking the bahia principe grand tulum Superior ocean front...verse the other rooms?
The superior premium is definitely worth it - here’s the link to their website so you can see the style differences:
www.bahia-principe.com/en/resorts-in-riviera-maya/resort-tulum/rooms/?_gl=1*2pgidu*_up*MQ..&gclid=Cj0KCQiA8aOeBhCWARIsANRFrQFWE4bDobEMQI5XKUErve7775ER5i3db_1-aBrcpp6PdWj0klhu_V4aAkI1EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
Do they have any bigger slides for kids 12 or older?
Nope 🤷🏼♀️ Riu Dunamar has a water park with large slides 👍🏻
Hello!
I'm currently shopping for hotels and this is one is on top of my list. How many A La Carte meals do you get for a 4 night stay?
I’m not sure about a 4 day stay 🤔 you get 3 if you stay a week.
Hello, are any of the ala carte restaurants adults only? Can't seem to find that info. TIA
No they’re not.
How did you find the bus ride from the airport ? I heard that due to construction there are delays? Also did you have any safety concerns?
The bus ride wasn’t bad - we caught a bit of traffic, but no construction when we went. We felt perfectly safe. 👍🏻
more importantly how was the food !?????!!! x
The food was great! Especially the gourmet a La carte restaurant! A buffet tour will be posted on our channel soon!
Would you recommend Bahia Principe Grand Tulum or rather Coba for a family (daughter is 7)? Any experience regarding coming in October (weather-wise)? Thx
We prefer Tulum bc of its newly renovated style, rooms, children’s activities and proximity to the beach 👍🏻 we’ve been to Mexico in October and have always had great weather - even though it’s hurricane season
If you book at Tulum, can you access the amenities at Coba and Akumal?
Coba, yes - Akumal, no. Tulum and Coba are “Grand” hotels and Akumal and Asian Ka’an are “luxury” hotels, so you can only visit hotels in your category.
Great stuff as usual. How hard is it to make restaurant reservations ?
@waynehiggins7950 yes they can! You’ll love Costa Mujeres!! It’s our favourite RIU and we’ve been to all of them in Mexico!
The beach looks beautiful. I am going on April 9 and I think there will be a lot more seaweed though 😢 I didn’t know it came at certain times of the year
Yeah 🤷🏼♀️it’s very hard to predict too! I’m sure you will still have a great trip!
Trippy was there seaweed?
I keep seeing really bad reviews concerning rooms, customer service, food, buffet drinks....
The beach was beautiful when it was calm
Edit: sorry I didn’t see you reply earlier
Do they have elevators to the second and third floors?
Nope 🤷🏼♀️
Hi!
Thank you for the review!
Lookin to go to Mexico this summer
We are a family of 4 with my two kids who are 12 and 14
We have been to Aruba
The waters are beautiful
Any beach resorts that are similar to Aruba waters or even better that you recommend?
Really appreciate any feed back!
We haven’t been to Aruba 🤷🏼♀️ but if you’re looking for amazing beaches, we would recommend RIU Palace Peninsula in Cancun, or any resorts around that one 👍🏻 another great spot is Bahamas 👍🏻
@@WherewegoingNext
Thank you for response
So to your experience best beaches water wise would be around Cancun
Yes, but particularly around the Peninsula, where there isn’t much seaweed
So are we allowed to access the other Bahia principe resorts around it or is that not possible anymore
Just the Coba, not the other 2
We have 4, 2 and 8 month old. Can my 2 yr old play in the kid club area if we join him or is it strictly for 4+ yr olds
Sorry, im not sure how they enforce the rules - I’m bet it’s fine 🤷🏼♀️
How can I choose between Coba and Tulum? The price difference is large. Just me and my two kids going next month (12 and 15).
Out if the 3 resorts, which would you recommend for families?
Either Tulum or Coba. They both have great water parks for kids. Tulum is newer and right on the beach, whereas Coba is set back from the beach, but is more budget friendly.
Thank you
Is it true that the bathroom or shower is open concept with the room?
Yes, the bathroom is open to the bedroom - but the shower and toilet room both have doors. We have a room tour on our channel that you can watch 👍🏻
Hello, is there wifi in the room, how’s the reception? Thanks
There is excellent wifi all over the resort, including in the rooms 👍🏻
@@WherewegoingNextthank you… how’s the beach…is there rocks in the water? I almost book Coba n my travel agent told me that it’s 15 to 20 minutes from the Coba n suggested Telum, hence looking at reviews like yours.
@david888a yes, it’s a rocky beach 🤷🏼♀️ there are some clear areas that you can enter the water from, but we definitely recommend water shoes.
Great video. We are thinking of going there end of April. Will you be posting a video of the 2 bedroom suite?
Sameee
Yes, we will be posting a few room tours for Tulum 👍🏻
Sorry maybe I missed this but can you use all the amenities at Tulum and Coba if you are booked at one of these resorts? I take it Sian Kan and Luxury Akumal is separate from Coba and Tulum, amenities wise.
Tulum can visit Coba, but not vice versa. Correct, Sian Ka’an are in the Luxury category - so also not allowed to visit 🤷🏼♀️ they full list of rules is listed on their respective websites under “all inclusive” 👍🏻
You can visit all resorts if you book the luxury hotel.
Sort of lol Sian Ka’an can visit all others, but Akumal can’t visit Sian Ka’an even though it’s a luxury hotel 🤷🏼♀️
@@WherewegoingNext I feel you. I’m going to Sian Kan. So that’s probably why we can visit them all. Great video btw ❤️
Is there still a cigar shop at the hotel?
I believe you can get cigars in the main resort shop 🤔
nice :) I new friend:)
Welcome!
Is it a good resort for kids? What other kids activities are there aside from Kids water park? Also can we book excursions for e.g. Dolphin swim etc?
They have the splash pad, pools and kids club. Yes, you can book all kinds of excursions at the tour operator in the lobby.
@@WherewegoingNext Thank you so much! was the wifi at the resort good? Also, do we have to dress up formal for a-la-carte dinner bookings and how do we book those?
They wifi is great 👌🏻 you don’t have to dress super fancy for the ala carte dinners - just no beach wear.
Which of the properties is best to stay for a couple
We prefer the adults-only section at Luxury Akumal👍🏻
DEAR WHERE WE GOING NEXT,
GOD BLESS YOU MY FRIENDS. MERRY CHRISTMAS. I AM VERY PROUD OF YOU AND VERY HAPPY FOR YOU. I HOPE ALL OF YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE. I HOPE YOU HAVE THE BEST AND HAPPIEST CHRISTMAS OF YOUR ENTIRE LIFE. I LOVE YOU. I LOVE MR. ESPARZA AND ALL OF MY BEAUTIFUL FRIENDS. EVERYTHING HAS BEEN A MIRACLE AND FAR BEYOND MY WILDEST DREAMS. I FEEL LIKE CRYING WITH COMPLETE GRATITUDE AND JOY. 🙏
SINCERELY PETER
👍🏻
Im coming soon
Have fun!
did you fly into the Cancun airport and get a shuttle?
Yes we flew into Cancun and organized a transfer through Canada Transfers
@@WherewegoingNext thank you for the quick response! can anyone organize a transfer through Canada Transfers? I am looking to book here for the end of November, does staying here grant you access at all of the other restaurants because i see on their website they only allow you 3 a la carte reservations a week?
Yes, anyone can book Canada transfers. You can book dinner at Bahia Principe Coba’s restaurants as well - but only 3 per week no matter which hotel
@@WherewegoingNext thank you, we are booked at Grand Tulum for 8 nights, so out of the 8 nights we can only have 3 dinner reservations? I guess i was confused after booking since Bahia Principe in Punta Cana let us do a different restaurant at different resorts each night :/ so we can't do 3 at Tulum then 3 at Coba?
@@WherewegoingNext do you know where we can eat on days we dont have reservations? are there any 24/7 food places in Tulum resort? can we access the food truck as much as we want since it does not require a reservation.
What if anything did you have to pay for on the property? I know it’s all inclusive, but is every free?
They have a few special shows that cost money, some premium wines and liquor, excursions and dinners on the beach to name a few. We’ve never felt the need to buy anything extra, but you have the option if you so choose. The full list of inclusions and exclusions is listed on their website 👍🏻
@@WherewegoingNext much appreciated 🙏🏼
Hello, I’ve read some reviews that a couple shows in the theatre are extra $ . Is that the case and if so how much?
Yup. It’s true. I believe it was $10 per person for origin. The other show blackbird was free while we were there, but I did hear they were going to charge for that one too eventually. 🫣
@@WherewegoingNext ok good to know! I planned a big family vacation… I’m sure I’m going to get a little grief about that haha but 🤷🏻♀️. Been to many all inclusives and have never experienced shows costing $ Thanks for the info! Can’t wait to go! 😄
I know, we haven’t seen that before either 🤷🏼♀️ but I guess they are putting a lot of work into making these shows really good 🤷🏼♀️ you do have other entertainment options, so that’s good.
@@vanessakohne5767 we were a bit surprised by the move too. The shows are good. You can tell they did put some extra effort into them. Enjoy!
@@WherewegoingNext well I will say… “Origen“ looks worth it. I’ve never seen a show of that caliber at a resort. I was impressed watching the clip you showed! Probably wouldn’t pay for others 😆.
Are there nighttime activities for families as well?
Yes they have family friendly shows at the theatre 👍🏻
what month did you go?
This was October, 2022
Which would you recommend for a family of 4 with a 12 year old and a 14 year old.
Important to us:
*Great variety of food options that are easily accessible
*Great Beach with a good swim area
*Great pools
*Nicer more spacious updated rooms
*Good entertainment
*Access to excursions
*Fun and welcoming environment for families
Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa
Riu Palace Mexico
Bahia Principe Grand Tulum
Riu Palace Riviera Maya
Dreams Jade Resort & Spa
Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa
@mrs.hiddenheightsfarm9119 you’re welcome. You can do day trips to those places from the Riu as well 👍🏻
I’m looking at the cost of the in-room Wifi of $16./ day.
@tiggerlou9252 they must have not updated their website in years lol!! We’ve been to this resort 3 times and had free wifi every time!!
only one swim up bar?
🤷🏼♀️yup
How much did the shuttle Roundtrip to and from the airport cost to this resort?
The resort doesn’t have a shuttle, you have to arrange your own transportation. 🤷🏼♀️
Oh okay thank you. I asked because it says on their amenities there's round-trip airport shuttle but surcharge.
We’ve never heard of that 🤷🏼♀️ maybe it’s new 🤔
I just booked and it was about $50
Wow that’s a great price!
Another question for you, do they have dolphins here?
No they don’t.
Welche Hotels dürfen Gäste vom tulum mitbenutzen?
They can only Tulum and Coba 👍🏻
Hello. Do you know if parents can accompany their small children down the slides at the kids waterpark?
Yeah that’s fine 👍🏻
time share arrasement ?
I do believe there is someone in the lobby selling premium club (I think that’s what it’s called)
Très beau film dommage que ce n'était pas en français
Merci!
Nice but I prefer the Akumal resort at this resort
Yeah, Akumal is beautiful
place sucked in my opinion as a person who experienced Cancun more than once. Reservation process sucked, buffet was repetitive everyday, my suite was eh and the place is understaffed and it showed. Much better off staying at a AMR resort.
Sorry to hear you had a bad experience 🤷🏼♀️ we thought it was much improved from our previous visit
Besides the buffet what restaurants can you eat at everyday that is part of the all inclusive? Is the truck free everyday?
