I love the color cubes and I also got her color companion. She has many pencil and some marker sets in there like Prisma, etc and it will tell you which exact pencil colors go with those cards. So handy! I have also used pencils from different sets together (like using Polys and Star-Joy Gold)since I have them all swatched out it makes it so easy. The negatives that you felt about the cards really shouldn’t be negatives on the cards, that was just your feelings of guilt for not using all the colors. That was more personal preference than a negative. When I use the cards, there are times that I don’t use all the colors on one card and other times I may use two cards and only use 2 or 3 colors on each card. There really is no set rules. You mentioned “mother” colors. I feel the picture on the card is merely a suggestion on how to use the colors. You could easily pick out a different color on a card and use it as the “mother” color even though it is not the same “mother” color that was in the picture. Thanks for showcasing these cards, I really enjoy them. We are getting ready to paint the inside of our home and I plan on using some cards to find color schemes in finding wall color and different decorations (paintings, throw pillows,etc.).
You did a lovely job on the monsters! They look so fun! I like number 1 and 4 the most. Side note... When I use the Color Cube I tend to have exactly the right amount of colors for most pages and never have to leave out, because most coloring pages have more elements than these monsters. Also, if you have trouble finding an exact match for the colors, just try to adjust the remaining colors in the same direction as the one you couldn't find. Say a color has more of a red undertone, try to give the other colors also a red undertone based on the palette you are using. This makes the colors match more evenly to each other. Thanks for the video and I hope this helps!
Hi Jennifer & Steve. I've had these cubes for awhile and what I really like is the color companion she has. Some of the more popular pencil sets she put together which pencil matches each color combo on the cards. That is what made such a difference for me that I love
SCAM ALERT!!! There are scammers contacting our viewers with an email that looks like it comes from youtube-typically in response to a comment that you leave below. I totally understand you by feeling guilty not using all the colors....I need my freedom to pick whatever color I feel like...thank you for showing this, I was curious how it works💜💜💜💜
I really love the colors of 2. I love muted colors, and my favorite color is purple. Honestly, I typically just figure out what colors I will use as I go along. It’s more relaxing that way. Trying to follow a plan tends to take the fun out of it. That’s just me though.
I actually liked number two quite a lot. For me it's a tie between 2 and 4. Both palettes give different vibes, but they're good. I also liked how the color palette for 3 instantly put me in the mood for ice cream, and then the monster design also happened to look a little like ice cream.
Thank you so so much for this video. I'm new to drawing, well I've been doing it for a while, though I'm really obsessed with drawing n. I've seen the cube time and time again. Watch your interview and demonstration did two things. Encouraged me to continue on my obsession and also how to use markets. I love you channel and have learnt so much. I'm only new to the you tube thing. I have been layed up for two months with a broken foot and your channel has taught me so so❤ much once again thank you l
I like the one with the pastel colors best. It's so cute! Don't feel bad for not having the "right" color or for not using all of the colors. I see the color cards as a guide. I use some of the colors, but not all, or if I want to add a color, I do that as well. They are a tool, so you can use them in the way that works best for you!
I love how in Sarah Renee Clark's digital versions of the Color cubes, the Color Catalogues, she's got the CC Companion which gives some of the different pencils her choices for matching the colors. The digital version, some of it is interactive too so you can put something you want to color in the search and see what it pulls up. I do have the Color Cubes too, they are so much fun and they do help me a lot.
I like number 2. I do like how they all blend together in each monster. I also have trouble with using all the colors on the card, but I would look at it as more of suggestion.
That was fun! I've been thinking of buying the Color Cubes with color catalogue for a year now. The exchange rate stopped me, but I really feel it would help me greatly as I find it difficult to choose colors, so I dont color as much because of it. Your test convinces me that it would be worth it! Monster 4 if my fav, but I really like the third one too. Thanks for the test and for the giveaway!
Your drawings are so sweet, they are lovely. These cubes are awesome, I don't have them but some time ago I've bought the book "Palette Perfect by Lauren Wager" and it's very useful, and I love pic the colors if a image using Photoshop.
#1 is my fav and #2 is my second fav. I love the colour cubes as I am terrible with picking different colours. Just remember it's to use a sa guide to help you pick colours. You don't have to stick to it. I usually pick 2 cards that have similar colours to have more range. Or I pick 2 random cards and go with it.
I am always glad when I see my other favorite youtubers 'cross streams.' I have watched Sarah Clark for a long while. Jennifer and Steve - if you could cross streams with Johanna Basford, Chloe Rose, and/or Lindsay Weirich, I would be in TH-camr coloring ecstasy.
I bought both of the Cubes over a year ago and have not even used them once...I guess my imagination works well for me without having to rely on cards to determine which colour palette to use...so for me it was a waste of money...I have given both boxes to two art students of mine so that they could hopefully benefit from them...I sure hope Sarah doesn't come out with a 3rd cube...because even though I haven't used the other 2 ...I will probably order another one because of my darn FSS !!! ...LOL!!! 🤣
I like the 4th monster the best. My least favorite is the 2nd monster. The colors are very well put together and overall the 2nd monster actually looks good but the colors are so boring. Thank you for a great and fun video ☺.
#4 is my favorite. Happy blue and green with my favorite flower colors of yellow and orange. Just lifts my spirit. All are very cute, but the vibrant one catches me best. Happiest.
Hi Jennifer and Steve. Love your channel! My favorite monster is your least favorite. I love that color scheme. And I also love the way you blended the colors in this particular monsters head. My least favorite is the pastel one, but that's just my preference. Ty for taking the time to do these videos. They're greatly appreciated and very helpful 😊
The colors on the all the monsters turned out sweet, but my favorite is color scheme number 4. I don't have the colored pencils you used here or the color cube, so I will try my Prismacolors and try to match them as best I can. I do have the Ohuhu markers. Looking forward to coloring these monsters. My Facebook account was compromised a few years ago so I no longer can use it. What a fun way to pick your colors. Oh I forgot to ask, where can I get the little thingy you used to draw the circles?
my favorite is #2 because of the background treatment. Brilliant idea of laying down a base color with marker and adding the shading with pencils, I've never done that before and I'll have to try that process on my next project. I would use the color cube with scrapbooking by looking for the dominant color in my focal photograph, find a corresponding card, then select my papers from the colors on the card.
They're all lovely monsters. I had a feeling before you said it, that number 2 was your least favourite. I feel the exact same way about the color cubes with leaving put colors but I still like them for inspiration plus i have the companion to help with the different sets of pencils 😁
Loved your monsters ,I really liked 1 and 4 you have given me new ideas with my color cubes. Could you do a tour of your desk / coloring space please 🥰
Hello This is the second time I have watched your channel. I am interested on how you used your color cubes. I would like to ask if you could tell me what you used to make the circle on one of your monsters? I could use a tool like that. Thank you I subscribed.😊
My favorite monster is # 3. I think she is a little girl monster and she looks like she is wearing a cute little outfit with a yellow flower petal skirt. I have been on the fence with the idea of investing in the color cube system. The images are so beautiful and inspiring. The back of the cards seem very helpful in choosing colors. Jennifer, you mentioned that you felt the cards made you use different colors than you normally would. It made me wonder if you enjoyed coloring as much as you usually do? Did it make you feel excited to take on the challenge of using different colors than your normal preference and help you to enjoy the coloring process even more than usual? Or did it make coloring a bit of a chore? That is what I keep going back and forth on. I like the idea of opening myself up to more challenging color palets, but am a bit unsure if it would make me feel that I might not be up to the challenge. What do you think?
Thank you for this demo, I'm not one for commenting often but love watching your videos they are always full of usefull info, the time you both take in making them and the personal cost to you to purchase these sets...thank you x

Monster #4 is my favorite!
My favorite drawing monster is three. My favorite color scheme monster is three as well. Reminds me of Easter colors with pastels. :)
Your monsters are so cute!!!

I love them all! But 2 and 3 are my faves.

I like monster #4 best, but they are all cute.
Monster 4 is my fav ❤❤

I'm picking number two - it is very cute, I like the colour scheme, and the monster plus the background is actually a really cool vibe
I like number 2. I do like how they all blend together in each monster. I also have trouble with using all the colors on the card, but I would look at it as more of suggestion.
monster #3, then #1. they are cute.
Monster 1 is my fav!

They are all adorable, but my favorite is Monster #4 🥰
Oh, these are so cute. I hope the paper you recommend comes soon lol so I can print these up.😊
Actually my favorite is the number 2😃love the muted colors and a monster looks great with them
I really like all 4!
I like number 3, it seemed to me the color card matched the monster perfectly!
Monster #3 is definitely my favorite! I love the fluffy belly and the pastel colors 😍 great job Jennifer!
You’re so creative. Such fun.
#1 is my fav and #2 is my second fav. I love the colour cubes as I am terrible with picking different colours. Just remember it's to use a sa guide to help you pick colours. I can't choose a monster - I would feel guilty about that! LOL They're all so cute!!! The cards are wonderful !!!
Wow the monsters look so cute ❤ I like all of them…but fav #4😊♥️

Never used my alcohol markers as a foundation for my colored pencils. I must try that. Love them all , especially the first one😅
Great job! My favorite is #4.
#4 is my favorite. Happy blue and green with my favorite flower colors of yellow and orange. Just lifts my spirit.
All are very cute, but the vibrant one catches me best. Happiest.

I love all 4❤
What a great video. Thank you. I recently bought color cube 2 and have struggled to use it. I love that first monster but they are all so cute.

3 i love the pastel colors
I loved how you used the colors from the cards.
They work like those paint samplers for decor. It's an interesting concept especially for beginners.
Monster 4 my favorite
I love 1 and 4
I liked number 4 the most! I like the colours of it!
Oh my goodness! I love the little monsters!!! lol they are adorable.
Love them all.
The cubes are such an amazing idea for all the things that Sara mentioned in her interview. She’s a genius ! Thanks for sharing.
They are all super cute. The 4th is my favorite. You did a great job.

My favorite color scheme on the card was 3 but my favorite translation onto the monster was #4.

Would you color the monster eyes what color would you use? I love number 3
I like Monster #4
Just bought the colour cubes and great to see how people are using it. What is the circular drawing thing you are using please?
Thank you for this demo, I'm not one for commenting often but love watching your videos they are always full of usefull info, the time you both take in making them and the personal cost to you to purchase these sets...thank you x
I can’t choose between 1&4! I think 1 :)
