When Candidates don't have direct work experience, I often look at volunteer and other experience, or coops, or other side projects which demonstrate initiative and creativity. The reality is that it will come down to either the ATS that screens you, or the recruiter who looks over your resume. Each may be different on the flexibility they require for their posting. I always encourage people to apply and let the company decide, rather than themselves self-selecting out. After all, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Good luck! Though I have 15+ years of experience, with 6 years in project management, but no experience in digital marketing. I want to pursue a career in digital marketing in Ireland and perhaps have my own venture down the road. However, getting my first job in digital marketing seems to be really challenging.
I became interested in digital marketing almost 2 years ago but I kept exploring other fields like business, medical field, computer programming even graphic design. while doing those I always had digital marketing in the back of my head because I didn't know what to do really I felt stuck I guess its time to take initiative and continue where I left off 2 years ago because to this day I am still interested in it. I love your content you just inspired me to continue thank you!

I’m currently working for a non-profit as a coordinator. I did one PR internship in college. I am volunteering with my church’s marketing/communications team with website development, and other tasks. I am also currently taking a business and marketing writing course, and will be starting my digital marketing certification program in February. I have reached out to my marketing department at work twice to see if they need help, etc. They had said sure, but never got back to me. Are there any other recommendations you have? Will that give me an advantage over other candidates to land me a job? Should I just say small business without mentioning dropshipping I’m afraid they might ask if they do interview me?
