SDC2921 Voltage Mode PWM Controller for ATX power supplies. in this video i discussed layout of SDC2921 IC Most Common configuration as voltage mode PWM controller in maximum ATX power supplies, this microcircuit is basic component to generate different voltages in at or atx power supplies, it generates pulse width modulation and monitors the output of power supply for proper function.

i explained practical How to repair computer ATX switch mode power supply SMPS very easy. this PSU is using SDC2921 IC which is PWM and intelligent power supply monitor. i shared my easiest and perfect troubleshooting techniques practical troubleshooting. smps concept and troubleshooting repairing or understanding repair switching mode power supply basics and working principle. how to troubleshoot input electromagnet induction filter, EMI, bridge rectifier and capacitor. we get 330 VDC at main capacitor. after hat the +330 volts are applied to standby power, which is SMPS and makes +5V SB, these stand by voltage are applied to motherboard which pull down the PS ON green wire to zero level, so the ENABLE OR REMOTE ON or CONTROL pin of smps will go low that will enable pulse width modulation. and also i discussed smps basics. after watching this video you can capable to:-

SDC2921 is PWM controller with ATX output monitoring circuit.
but the tl494 is just a PWM controller, if we use it in ATX then it is compulsory to use Over voltage, over current, under voltage monitoring circuit. so TL494 circuit is much complicated with compare to SDC2921

13:20 Really I don't understand what for this two diodes from 5VSB and 12V going into a middle pin of tranformer, and what they doing. If you cold be do a simple explanation that wouldbe great. Much appreciate your effort and knowledge.

one diode rectifies 12 volt for providing 12 volt for start up switching of pulse transformer
and second diodes provides 12 volt (which are generated by main power supply) so the main power supply's 12 volt will used as 12 volt for pulse transformer (it is used to bypass the 12 volt generated by SB transformer
i will explain it in deep detail in upcoming video of ATX power supply, i planned to prepare a detailed practical tutorial on ATX
