The drummer is fantastic
I have been a fan since 1972! I am now 79 and still a fan, top class musicians! They can play any styles Classic, prog rock, jazz!
Apart from Thijs van Leer this has nothing to do with the well known Focus.
@@TravelPointDotOne-ku4eh As far as I know Van Leer and the drummer are the only original members left? I saw them in Glasgow a few years ago! Still fantastic musicians! ❤️🎼Fraser
@@elsaarmstrong-zp6ng You are right. Pierre van der Linden was in the orinal band. A pity that Jan Akkerman and Thijs van Leer are no longer on friendly terms.
@@TravelPointDotOne-ku4eh I met jan Ackerman a few years ago at a guitar festival in Scotland, When I asked him about the breakup he said it was all about what type of music they wanted to move on ! Van leer was classical and prog rock , Akkerman was jazz with classical so they drifted apart! Seems childish to me but probably finance had its part too! Akkermann has his own band now and they are very good! Van Leer and linden teamed up with another guitarist and bassist! Forgot names? Still doing gigs as far as I know!

What is the amazing piece that Thijs plays before going into Hocus Pocus? Is he improvising with the vocoder effect?
I think it is via a midi converter with a sequencer. When he sings you hear a choir. Once I saw a guitarplayer playing and heard a chamber orchestra with violins al over the place. I saw that he used a mix of midi stuff.
