@@elcambiollego whereas a competent jedi would have killed him without compassion - because it was bloody necessary - as all the competent jedi foresaw; but not good 'ol Obi-Wan, the damned idiot.
He’s my favourite. A true archetype of a jedi and really shows that Jedi aren’t only martial art experts but possess many other skills that have been lost lately.
This perspective makes me curious how his connection with the force might have changed if Duchess Satine Kryze had actually asked her 'Obi' to leave the Jedi order. He said that if she just said the words, he would have left the Jedi for her. Right before Maul killed the love of his life before his very eyes. That relationship makes me so sad, because i know Obi-Wan would have been truly happy with her away from the Jedi. Thus the question, would he still be able to maintain the perfect Jedi mindset and this insanely pure connection with the Force if whe had him leave?🎉
Honestly if Luke was anything to go by...yes. in fact that lack of a connection might have been the one thing he was missing to unlock ultimate power. Love (True love, not the objectifying possessive love that Anakin had) is essentially the ultimate manifestation of the Light side. It was Anakin's love for Luke that brought down Sidious and the Galactic Empire. Heck in the end of the Revenge of the Sith Novelization Matthew Stover wrote the following line. "“The dark is generous and it is patient and it always wins - but in the heart of its strength lies its weakness: one lone candle is enough to hold it back. Love is more than a candle.Love can ignite the stars.” The problem with Anakin's relationship was not love, in fact quite the opposite. He didn't really love her. He loved her as a sort of prized object a thing. Something he can call his and take ownership of. Heck if you look at TCW the two's relationship could be considered outright toxic.
Yeah love is ultimately benefits the light side and the Jedi greatest strength while the dark side doesn’t have any benefit all it does twisted it makes it toxic leads to Obsession. Looking at Luke and Obi wan true love it’s takes time not something to rush about like Anakin situations. It’s nothing wrong with loving Padme but it’s all about how he go about it is the problem the lack of trust, keeping the marriage secret and marrying before the war really led to emotional baggage for him. No doubt Anakin cares for Padme deeply but when he turn to the dark side love became discrimination he’s willing to kill innocents and betray his own order for so called power to save Padme but really Anakin only thought for himself like the novel said “There is no Vader it only Anakin Skywalker is you and only you”. That the trap of the Sith is selfishness.
Obi Wan’s emphasis on skill and technique, as well as enhancing his spiritual prowess through study and focusing on even the smallest details in terms of combat and Jedi principles made him a force to be reckoned with
My friend legally changed his name to jonbeoni kanobi, he sacrified his name for the force, the force is strong with jonbewon, im proud to call him a friend
Obi-Wan was all about the grind, which is why he is so revered. Beyond something a simple as having a high M-count, Kenobi pushed, trained and forged away. Honing himself into the Force itself.
"Luminous, a transparent being, a window on to a sun lit meddow" describing a truly enlightened individual with a purely serene crystal clear state of mind so clear he truly gives himself in his entirety over to the force that it's will be done through him, Obi wan doesn't need a high miniclorien count because he's like a transever receiving the force. Maybe it's like this one's overall miniclorien count doesn't matter, solong as they have a serene state of mind at the point of action/reaction they'll always receive more "the force flows into him" sounds to me that irregardless of the overall permanent count you have you'll always receive more when you act to carry out the will of the force more will always support you and this is what happens with Obi wan and I think the count realizes this.
To my mind (perhaps my own head cannon 😁), I have always seen the midichlorian count as a measure of potential rather than power. Despite a low count, Obi Wan achieved that potential and had no sense of jealousy or frustration towards the 'more powerful'. He embodied what it means to be a Jedi, whatever his count The Force was always his ally, and his wisdom allowed him to understand it better than most.
This was the biggest part. The force abandoned many jedi because of their behavior or turmoil. The force was always with Obi Wan. You could call Obi the forces true bro.
I attribute disability to Quon training the most in episode. One we get to see he forces him for lack of a better term to learn to be in the moment. At the end of the day, Obi-Wan has learned to just allow the force to use him how it sees fit, and if he should fall that day, then it does not matter because that it was the wheel of the force he steps in into every battle with the will and determination, body act as the avatar of the force at that time. That’s why I love Obi-Wan because he truly embodies a force user. Should be.
Such a good video. He doesn’t get enough flowers in my opinion. Definitely one of the most diligent, hardest working and pious Jedi’s ever to exist. Like SW probably only Yoda surpasses him. But what Yoda had in natural ability, Obi Wan had to work like a dog to get to the status he did. The 🐐
You can actually see how much Obi-Wan values training and hard work when in the flashback during Kenobi in which he tries to get Anakin to embrace the light side as he does, it's unsuccessful but it does show he understands what makes him powerful and has a method of trying to pass that along to others.
OWK is the best, fam. He held onto the Jedi ideals of compassion and justice despite everything that happened to him. Bro was too good for the Jedi Order and should've left to join Satine.
Obi Wan is by far my most beloved Jedi. Hard Work and Focus does win over Talent and Natural Ability most times. His Cunning, Tactics, Doctrine and Battle Field IQ we’re also 2nd to None
While his midichlorian or mc or m or c count was low he was not one of those high potentialed individuals in Legends at least like The Skywalkers, The Solos Under Leias Line, The Mereks, Sidious, Yoda, Malgus, Dooku, Mace, Plo Koon, Yaddle, Farleen Snee, Maul, Or Asajj but he made up for it with making up for the things he did have yeah.
It is as any great hero.. Circumstance and choice of the correct path brings the force to you. Once you are on the path with the force, you become immovable...
i think it would be interesting if you did videos of comparisons between star wars jedi theology and irl theology, if that makes sense. just a thought. anyway love the videos!
Obiwan’s whole mind set was don’t focus on what you can do but improve on what you can’t do. It’s why he always seen as weaker to his opponents and allies but we as the viewer/reader/whatever knows he’s improving in every facet of a person and jedi. He understood the force arguably more than anyone else, even Yoda thanks to his training by Qui-Gon.
He was low when compared to people like mace, skywalker, yoda, dooku, palpatine, etc. but he had higher counts than people like Ahsoka. He wasn’t dismally low. He still had a lot more than the average Jedi. I remember seeing a Disney released count and he was higher than I thought it would be.
In that graph, he had more than Mace, almost the same amount as Dooku (difference by 100) almost as much as Luke, so I'm just tired of this statement that he had a low count. He was like Anakin when he was young, and couldn't find a master because he was so hot-tempered, not because he was weak.
I think everyone can agree that if Obi Wan was gifted with shatterpoint he would have been the premiere duelist of the Jedi Order above Dooku and even Anakin
Well knowing shatter point wouldn't hurt. I also don't think it would have made much of a difference for him. That skill is mainly for breaking near indestructible material and nobody Obi one fights even uses such material. Vadar's armor is Plasteel and durasteel which aren't really anything special besides their slight resistance to lightsaber damage.
@@billfred9411that is only a small part of the shatterpoint ability actually. Its main focus is seeing and recognizing key points within the universe. This is what allows the user to see the small points that allow objects to shatter. Recognizing these key points extends to seeing key events approaching. I feel like I’m doing a horrible job explaining it but mace windu saw the shatterpoint surrounding anakin skywalker during his battle with darth sidious. The future of the galaxy hinged on the decision that anakin made. I feel like this part of the ability would pair perfectly with Obi-wan’s mastery of the defence form which focuses on tiring out your opponent and weathering the storm until you find that moment where their guard falters.
The quintessential Jedi, who never let his ego get in the way of fulfilling the will of the Force. He worked every day to get better at being a Jedi. If his saber didn’t cut you down, his wit certainly slayed many a Jedi and Sith.
Obi-Wan for me, and like to many others, was the definition of a Jedi. I think that the RotS novelization is great on depicting Obi-wan. As is this video. Unlike all the Sith, and many Jedi, even Yoda included, Obi-Wan never in battle really "used" the Force, he was just a perfect vessel of it, going absolute along with it. If the Force would have let him die, he would have. And he would have done it without ever contemplating it. But, he was to fulfill his role in the life of the Chosen one and his son, to balance everything, so Obi-wan never lost a battle were his life was as the stake. In the end, one can also see how Obi-Wan was actually also a tragic character. He lost so much. In a way, even more than Anakin. Of course Anakin had the children to top it in the end, but otherwise, these two brothers really lost everything. Difference being, that Obi-Wan never lost his faith in to the Force. Maybe, kn a sense this way one could understand the Jedi rule of no attachment. But to be fair, there were not enough Jedi like Obi-Wan to truly live up to it. And yes, I have of course seen the Disney Canon series. Like everything else SW related, Obi-Wans character was yet another example of Disney not really understanding shit about the IP they had in their hands. I still only consider Legends true SW canon.
The Midi count while cool kinda ruined the power scale, it seemed to mean that you would never be able to become more powerful than a certain lvl. Like saying Goku your midi count is 1000 so you will never become more powerful than Raditz cause his midi count is 1350, no matter what you do. And yet we see cases like Obiwan, and other Jedi and Sith from all time eras of Star wars starting off weak but becoming extremely powerful, and vice versa some Jedi and Sith who started out strong but never got much better than your starter level of skills. so the Midichlorian thing doesnt make much sense anymore, then again, Disneys own canon is a mess that should just be ignored all together in the end.
Great arguments ... SOLD ! grand speculation supported by published script (cannon) ... well done. Thumbs up. Alos, Obi Wan Kenobi is uber awesome because he's played by Ewan McGregor. I would have gone with Mathew Modine to avoid the Ewan McGregor's accent however, like the nose in Ocean's 12 ... "it plays" (Re: ewan's accent).
A line in a New Hope that stood always stood out to me is when Vader said “Kenobi is here and the force is with him”. Think about that , Kenobi obviously has the force but even Vader felt that the force was just not something Kenobi could use as a tool… but that the force was an active ally of Kenobi… and Kenobi was a part of the will of the force.

This explanation makes so much more sense for everything that happens
I love obi wan, probably my favourite jedi, the battles he had throughout
This was fucking beautiful man. Best video on Kenobi yet. ❤️🔥
He was ruthless as a jedi and did what he must.
Somehow that same trait is praised in Obi-Wan and vilified in Anakin
He said he could not kill Anakin but left him pretty much dismembered and over cooked without even wanting to do it, he even warned him, good job.
@@Matt-yg8ubi must kill children doesn't sound a good trait
@@elcambiollego whereas a competent jedi would have killed him without compassion - because it was bloody necessary - as all the competent jedi foresaw; but not good 'ol Obi-Wan, the damned idiot.
He’s my favourite. A true archetype of a jedi and really shows that Jedi aren’t only martial art experts but possess many other skills that have been lost lately.
Really interesting video for someone who doesn't care about star wars anymore. Thank you
Its simple hard work beats talent when talent dont work hard or to caught in anger emotions
Obi-Wan Kenobi of Stewjon, you have ability to overcome great Fear. Welcome to the Green Lantern Corps.
Or hope or compassion or even love but for me it’s more hope/compassion/willpower
Love is more than a candle.Love can ignite the stars.”
The problem with Anakin's relationship was not love, in fact quite the opposite.
I think he would have severed his connection to the force and devoted his life to his wife
Obi Wan’s emphasis on skill and technique, as well as enhancing his spiritual prowess through study and focusing on even the smallest details in terms of combat and Jedi principles made him a force to be reckoned with
This is the most spiritual and positive video I’ve seen in a long time. Thank you, great job, and may The Force be with you!
Obi and Yoda are my absolute favorites!
A beautiful discribtion and inspiring. Thanks. 🌞
What a beautiful description and analogy to the Divine Light.
This was great. It's nice to see that Obi Wan isn't as slept on as I thought him to be. He is that dude.
Everyone knows he took Super Force Vitality.
😮 🤣 Good one
Great material, thanks! :)
My pleasure!
Obi was almost always in control of his emotions. It was when he let loose was when he showed his true power and connection to the force
Very cool explanation. Thanks for sharing.
He's amazing. He's completely in the Force. Amazing. May the Force be with you too😊
A thoroughly admirable character. He personifies the Force with especial clarity.
“I am one with the force and the force is one with me”
I attribute disability to Quon training the most in episode. Should be.
I like his light saber design best.
Excellent use of the great wealth of information on Obi-Wan. There is much we can apply to our own lives.
Obi-Wan is the perfect example of how important are discipline and consistency to achieve your potential. One of the greatest Jedi in galactic history
This is the best explanation of what I have been working to be for over 40 years. Working on it.
He is just clear and present…!!! Respect…!!!
Makes perfect sence and he is still my favorite from the 4,5,6 sagas
Missed an opportunity to say “Hello there” at the beginning
he allowed the force to work through him. an instrument of the force.
The dichotomy of him and the ‘chosen one’ with born potential vs earned potential
The 🐐
I love that pay respect to a Jedi master absolutely!!!!!
Oh yes, thank you nostalgia is a powerful drug.❤🙏😇
You can actually see how much Obi-Wan values training and hard work when in the flashback during Kenobi in which he tries to get Anakin to embrace the light side as he does, it's unsuccessful but it does show he understands what makes him powerful and has a method of trying to pass that along to others.
OWK is the best, fam. He held onto the Jedi ideals of compassion and justice despite everything that happened to him. Bro was too good for the Jedi Order and should've left to join Satine.
He wouldn't have been the same, and the galaxy would never have healed. He was where he needed to be.
Obi Wan is by far my most beloved Jedi. Hard Work and Focus does win over Talent and Natural Ability most times. His Cunning, Tactics, Doctrine and Battle Field IQ we’re also 2nd to None
Why do you capitalize so many random words?
@@Codeman09876 I Have No Idea
😂😂😂😂😂
While his midichlorian or mc or m or c count was low he was not one of those high potentialed individuals in Legends at least like The Skywalkers, The Solos Under Leias Line, The Mereks, Sidious, Yoda, Malgus, Dooku, Mace, Plo Koon, Yaddle, Farleen Snee, Maul, Or Asajj but he made up for it with making up for the things he did have yeah.
Another genius of hard work.
Those passages on how he feels the force essentially describe the living force. Qui-Gon's pupil indeed.
Make more videos about Obi Wan please!!! Talk more about how Count Dooku ended up being afraid of him.
It's not what you have It's how you utilize with what you have 😊
Well done. Well done as always 💪🏿
Simply thank you for the ode to Obi Wan
Fear not the mán Who has practiced 1000 kicks, fear the mán thar has practised 1 kick 1000 times
Easily one of my favs. Would love to know more about him.
I could swear he was considered a prodigy during his training years, before Qui-Gon took him as an apprentice
He is by far my favourite character in all of Star Wars. Legendary he is…
I'd like to see Obi-Wan go through a full battle blocking all shots. It's been mentioned but I don't think it was animated or shown
This is my favorite video from you yet ❤
He was low when compared to people like mace, skywalker, yoda, dooku, palpatine, etc. but he had higher counts than people like Ahsoka. He wasn’t dismally low. He still had a lot more than the average Jedi.
I remember seeing a Disney released count and he was higher than I thought it would be.
In that graph, he had more than Mace, almost the same amount as Dooku (difference by 100) almost as much as Luke, so I'm just tired of this statement that he had a low count. He was like Anakin when he was young, and couldn't find a master because he was so hot-tempered, not because he was weak.
The undisputed Master of Soresu....(and this is from Dooku)
The entire description was just poetry and for a second there I believed the force was real.
Obi-Wan and QGJ for me were the embodiment of the Jedi. As time goes on my respect for OWK grows.
It was the Tatooine Viagra my guys, that's some strong stuff 😂😂😂
George would be proud. Its all about flow.
It was this understanding of the force that the Acylate did not bring to the table!
All those fights and never lost a limb.
Wow that gave me chills
My favorite jedi. Not born gifted or with royal blood, but hard work, wisdom, and strategic thinking helped manifest his true power.
Waiting to watch the video but my pre thoughts are that he trained really really hard
Similar to either a chromium compounder or zinc compounder from Scadrial.
Brilliant take...
This video made me tear up
I see you qouting Bruce Lee alittle bit at the end 😎
I love it.He finally is getting his due
Good video mate ❤ move like water 💧
He was literally the embodiment of the light side of the force.
Obi #1 🐐👑🥇
“Obi-Wan no.1 G.O.A.T. King Champion”
