    I been a MRI tech for 4 years! If you have high anxiety I have a few tips for you! Bring a friend or family member to come in room with you! Ask if they have music for you to listen while getting scanned, cover your eyes with a wash cloth or ask for a sedative before the test. Remember breath normal

    What is contained in the contrast substance? Barium or iodine?
    How loud is very loud? Can it have an adverse effect on your hearing?
    I do not understand. You muffle your hearing, but then have music is your headphones?
    This looks like an unpleasant experience.

    • @Decopainterandtea
      @Decopainterandtea 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can use earplugs or the headphones. I had one done yesterday. I asked for a cloth to put over my eyes and used the earplugs. I was fine. It is loud but managable. I was in about 40 minutes.I don't know what they use in the contrast. I had it injected when there was about 10 minutes left.

      @@Decopainterandtea I had a brain MRI recently, done with light sedation with Ativan, and the tech put a warm washcloth over my eyes before she enclosed my head. It was also a larger bore MRI than I had had before, and the combination of all of those things helped tremendously.

      It never feels good to get an IV port set up, but once it’s in, it should be relatively OK. I have had it done multiple times through the years, and have had multiple scans with contrast, and so much of that depends on how skillfully the IV is set up.

    If radiologists really believe gadolinium in the body is safe. Send out the disclaimer documents along with the full name of the contrast weeks prior to the procedure, so patients can make an informed decision at their leisure, as opposed to 5 mins before the procedure. which is absolutely ridiculous. Im guessing most radiologists know of chelated gadolinium risks and would not have it injected in them selves.
