    Absolutely
    I'm an American convert living in Egypt and it seems I know more about Egyptian history and Islamic History (Egyptian era) than Egyptians. It's a strange feeling.

      its because these western dictators/regimes have dumbed down their populations stripped them of their islamic personality and history to control them. They are struggling to survive so no time to gain knowledge. Also the disbelievers despise Muslims because falsehood despises the truth Allah swt says
      QURAN 2:217
      ...Tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter. Nor will they cease fighting you until they turn you back from your faith if they can. And if any of
      you Turn back from their faith and die in unbelief, their works will bear no fruit in this life and in the Hereafter;
      they will be companions of the Fire and will abide therein.

      This is Genghis Khan, dude. That guy was a military genius. His strategy would bypass any conventional army of the time....well, except Vietnam and India. But the first are notoriously good at humiliating superpowers and the second at winning land battles.

      victory and loss is from Allah SWT. It would not have mattered who was there as it was written for the mongols to be victorious. As the brother said the muslim empires and kings did not have a united front. That is a topic in itself and a prerequisite for any victory.

    Very informative video! I agree with you regarding the ummah being ignorant about the history of people of the past. They can definitely gain knowledge and strength from history. You should also talk about Islam in Southeast Asia and Australia too! It’s actually really beautiful how Islam spread throughout the region among a diverse community of Melanesian, South Asian and Southern Chinese people.

    Firstly, Tatar is an ethnic group, Mongols and Tatars are different. Secondly, Mongol invasion had nothing to do with religion, especially Islam.when he sent caravan with gifts hoping to establish trade, merchants and ambassador were accused as spies and killed. Chinggis Khan gave religious freedom to everyone and all religions were coexisted in Mongol Empire.

    I would respectfully disagree with the opening statement: the Muslims of Myanmar are not suffering genocide (the same goes for Kashmir, Palestine, Assam, China and many, many other places) because they do not know their history. They are sufferings because Muslim leaders are, en masse, either corrupt, incompetent, spineless or all three. Even more importantly, that leadership has lost touch with Islam and instead worked towards secularism and ultimately capitalist endeavors. Knowing when Hulegu Khan invaded which Muslim territory will not change that. Interesting lecture otherwise.
