GMC Motorhome Rear Bed Mattress

We've been using Edna for a while and the only real complaint we have had while sleeping in is the comfort of the rear bed. The buttons are really hard and not fun to sleep on, some sleeping mats made this better but now we have a really nice 4" mattress and it's a huge improvement.

I bought one based on your recommendation and have been sleeping on it the past couple weeks (I am living in my RV as I get it ready for a long road trip) and all I can say is THANKS! Very happy with it, although just a little softer than I would like, but otherwise it is great! And I got the case and fitted sheet all at the same time. well worth the money- I had slept a few times on the original surface, and this is going to be a definite plus long term.

I would also recommend a mattress seam sealer. Ikea sell one the Siggrud 40272353 is so the matress base your wife sleeps on is different squishiness and yours is firmer. This goes down the 2m gap length wise between the two single bed bases so the mattress doesn't dip. You can use it in fold out camper beds on the joint.

Great idea, I didn't think about using something like this to help prevent the gap and sag that happens between the benches.

Sounds like a great solution, just got back from a lumpy camping trip so I can PERSONALLY relate to your upgrade lol! My coach is a 77 Palm beach and has a storage cabinet on the passenger side and the 6" wide or so shelf/wall on the driver's side. I could measure it again, but my notebook says the bed area when the benches are folded down comes in at 69" x 44" - have to sleep diagonally to sort of fit and I'm about 6'. Is the rear bed area larger in your model? Oh and BTW, the bed of the dimensions you purchased is "currently unavailable" through Canadian Amazon which generally translated to "sorry sir you are S-O-L". The smaller sizes are available but not the "full" 😕

I think most coaches that are still in original condition have the cabinet and shelf you describe, I plan to recreate them some day but I think the mattress will still fit, even if it's a little squished at the end. It's too bad that the mattress is out of stock, It went out of stock once before we got ours but came back after a few days.
