- The LA Clippers lost Paul George and quickly made moves to pivot to what seems to be a more defensive style of basketball…fun? Adam, Will, and Chuck talk Nic Batum's return, what Derrick Jones Jr. can bring to the starting lineup, and wonder if the Clippers have one more big swing in them

If we have Zubac, Bridges, Kawhi, DJ Jr, Harden for the starting lineup then I'll feel like they can still potentially be a contender.

Yep. While the points per game from the horrible rockets wouldn't translate, shooting 37% from 3 does, and play the role of point guard too (not that we necessarily need that).

@@2000dpdpdp To be fair, it's very hard to judge where someone like him would go unless you were following the Rockets (which why would you)? For like 2-3 of those years, none of his stats really translated to roles on other teams (guys like Christian Wood went from leading scorers on the Rockets to bench guys for the Mavs). Then the last year or so (I forget if the Rockets were a horrible team or not but at the very least they weren't horrendously bad) his 3 point shooting numbers became legit. I forget what his defense was like but at the very least he wasn't abysmal. And those are the sort of thing that are easy to translate to contenders.
@@agentkirbYou have a reasonable take. Much different than what these guys were saying though. They (mostly the chuck guy) completely dismissed his potential production to the team.
@@2000dpdpdp I just think the reason why they dismissed it is he's someone who has had arguably 1 year of good stats in Houston and I can easily see them thinking that Houston was mostly mediocre so sometimes leading scorers on bad teams don't even make rotations on good teams. And it's only been recently that KPJ improved his 3 point shooting that he would make the rotation on a condender.
Bridges will be a huge pickup. KPJ and Dunn off the bench 😮💨

Clippers need a power forward badly. John Collins or miles bridges would be perfect. Grant Williams is too small and don’t rebound
I hope Nic Batum plays more than 20 mins, his stats and efficiency when he plays above 20 mins vs below it is night and day, most of his bad games last time with the clips are when he played under 20 minutes.
The Clippers have now become Lock 🔐 City for all the defense they added especially with Kris Dunn he's about to really turn some heads next season and beyond as a defensive weapon slasher and dependable playmaker on offense

I was thinking that too but T. Lue hasn't ever really played two big man line ups. Zu, Mo, Kai and Bridges look good on paper but will play it.

Gonna word vomit right here..If Clippers got Bridges, theyd be back on title contention. Dunn/KPJ are great POA defenders n overall good defenders. With KPJ being able to get his own shot. Batums high IQ and passing will feed the masses. Bamba is a much better upgrade over plum/theis - no athleticism/height killed the bench unit. The growth of Kai Jones is super underrated. I like the addition of demar - consistent scorer n passer (ty spurs) lavine would be fun tho… if clips lineup consists of DJJ/Bridges/KPJ/Jones we could be looking at Lob City 2.0 🤞🏽 also love the christie pick, 6’6 wing who can shoot the sht out the ball AND can attack closeouts 🙏🏽 post podcast p era, LFG

@@AyeGreggyy u might be playing too much 2k, 234 doesnt matter as it is for 1&5. with batum, u can have a catch’n shoot threat at the starting rotation and have decent height which was the problem last season with tmann since powell was necessary for the 2nd unit. b smart kid

Clippers had a few solid role players, so they're relatively equal to the likes of DJJ, PJ, Lively, but Harden, and Paul george aren't, at least no longer on the levels of Luka and Kyrie. And the better team won, and guess what? If the Mavericks won, that means they are the better team! 🤯
