A particularly good video, I think. I'd seen many maps of the older circuits, but I believe you are the first to mention that the circuit was anti-clockwise, and thank you for that!
In Bucharest is a abandoned circuit in the middle of the city centre and there are some remaining parts of the old circuit. The circuit name is bucharest ring
The Google Earth views are a great idea, they help put the track in context to the current one (and the last one). Perhaps if you could put the whole track on a satellite view that would be great. I used to live near there in 1989, plus I attended the last race on the better track in 2002. I was at the Ostkurve. Walking the circuit afterwards it was surprisingly emotional standing by the memorial to Jim Clark....such a shame. So was ruining the track using Tilke.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm also planning a remake from the 'Old Hockenheim Today' video. But therefore I want to re-visit the track to film new footage, also by drone. So I think there will be also a Google Earth overview in the video.
Thanks for the video guys 👍🏼 I tried to look Hockenheim up on Google Street View, but sadly no images exist (Street view doesn’t cover much of Germany I’ve noticed). I’ve been curious to see what these roads were like, so this video was interesting to watch 🙂

You're welcome!
Thanks for the footage and story of the original Hockenheim track, hopefully you get better weather coming your way.😄
This version of the track is underrated in my opinion cool vid by the way
Thanks
Thanks for this. I never knew about this version of the track. Looks like an awesome but very deadly track. Keep up the good work.
You're welcome
@@Circuitsofthepast I might try and find a video on TH-cam of some racing on the 1930’s track

Interesting, thanks! I will do some research to it and maybe I go visit it. Bucharest in on my to do list anyway.
Good morning! I found this video very interesting, i arrived now because yesterday i forgot my phone at work, so i was disconnected. Ciao, grazie!

@@Circuitsofthepast Great! That will further improve a really good video. Ermmmm, maybe teach Simon to say Ostkurve ...eeeeek. Lol.
Thanks for the video guys 👍🏼

thank you man! amazing video.
Thanks!
Would be fun if it was like nurburgring where they kept the long part for other races but make the short one too
I actually expected they would do so whit the 2002 reconstruction. Untill I heard what was done :O
1:55 "I can barely speak english" this whole time I thought it was your first language mate 😂
and Herman hold the 2021 record of Hockenheim, 11:50
5:10 post race wars. Everyone’s favourite war haha.
Well noticed! I hadn't even noticed. I checked the written text but there it is good, so it was Simons mistake :O :D
@@Circuitsofthepast great channel man. Just found it and working my way through them.
@@mattw1393 Thanks! I'm glad you like it.
At 5:11 he says “post race wars” not post war races. Btw no hate
Yes that's a slip of the tongue from Simon.
Everybody doesn't know that Simon Smith is doing something not important 🤣🤣
What Simon does is very importatnt. It gave my videos and my channel a huge boost.
@@Circuitsofthepast i hear simon made a joke Herman
Simon always makes jokes ;)
First comment YAY!
Applause for yourself
So many f1 regulation took aver so many great race track Just because européen don't like street racing !!
In this case it has nothing to do with F1. It was because of the new Autobahn. Formula 1 came to Hockenheim when it was already a permanent track.
@@Circuitsofthepast OK sorry I miseared, the story !! Stupid autobahn !! 😁 Thx for the answer.
