This is my interpretation: The man killed himself (note the letter he signed) by jumping off of a cliff and died by cracking his head open. Since some religions consider suicide a sin, he is now in limbo. He’s not bad enough for hell but not good enough for heaven so he’s cursed to be stuck in an infinite loop being chased by his thoughts, past life and his *Inner demons* . But that’s just my interpretation :D

I honestly love this song and the animation in the video. I love the macabre essence of the song, it reminds me a lot of the famous tone poem “Danse Macabre” by Camille Saint-Saëns 👌🏽
Man, I could not for the life of me remember what this song was called, but it’s so good! I love how both the songs and the music video are open to so many interpretations but no matter which point of view you adopt the main message remains solid.
So I think the Ghosts are representations of aspects of Social Status. White being the blind admiration of people who want your position. Black glowy eyed dude is a representation of those who want to take from you what they don't have. The uh, Fine Madame is a representation of Social Status itself, a controlling, and visibly evil force, that is still highly desirable. And as seen in the contract scene able to push people into making very bad decisions. The loops mid video are because when you move up a rung on the ladder you get to see how nice people have it at your new level. But there's always a higher place to get. The loop from end to beginning is because even when you're set back to square one you'll just follow that path, even if the steps end up different. And if you croak, well, everybody else will be on the same path anyway, another sucker for the grind. Or maybe I'm reading into it WAY too deep, I give it a 50/50 of either.
I keep getting back to this, it's such an underrated songs, from the catchy yet interesting composition and production, to the simple yet clever and well-thought lyrics, to the stunning and fitting animations. You better be proud of yourselves, cause I don't know you and yet I sure am!

I think another crazy little detail is that I don’t think the main character even realizes that he is, in fact, a skeleton. He’s clothed from the neck down so he can’t feel the skin on his head with the gloves on and since there’s no mirrors he never sees his own face. And he freaks out seeing ghosts and skeletons

I honestly enjoyed quite a bit of it more at 1.25 speed. Made the chase scenes hit much better for me, especially @ 2:19. Animation was definitely on point though, very cool!

I honestly enjoyed quite a bit of it more at 1.25 speed. Made the chase scenes hit much better for me, especially @ 2:19. Animation was definitely on point though, very cool!
