Agree! Also is nice to see more women representation in this field that was traditionally overcrowded by males. This also reflect the growth in popularity that cycling is having among women. :D
@@zendragallhauser5056 sports journalists I'd say? Many sports have ex players as journalists, some good, e.g. Lineker, Greavesie, some not so good...sure you can think of a few.
This is the kind of video we want to see surely, someone just enjoying their ride, not too worried about PB's or speed, just 'real' cyclying...enjoying the journey, lovely ☺ more like this please 👍
Graham Fielder and here at gcn you need one of these heart rate monitors to make sure you’re not riding too hard *awkwardly unzips jersey and camera zooms in to the heart monitor* *points at bike computer and camera zooms in* you also need this to keep an eye on your kph
I know a TH-cam channel with two guys driving motor bikes and having a chat about all kinds of things while driving in lovely scenery. Perhaps GCN could do something similar.
Whoa. 😮 . Wonderful work Ms Lloyd. I can barely get my phone out of my jersey pocket without running myself off the road. You live in a fantastic country. Stay blessed.
Nice one, Manon. I watched this with my 11 year old daughter while we are on holiday and cycling together around Quadra Island in BC. It's great for her to see a female role model as inspiration and encouragement towards her cycling with dear ole Dad. So important for young girls these days. Thanks for that!
Night rides round Goodyear/Avondale area (West Phoenix) were always fun, and then I went back home to Upstate New York...miss them adventures! Lots to gander at, even in the nighttime, and no cars! It was lovely to chug around every time.
Manon is a fantastic addition to the GCN team. While she brings an impressive palmarès, better still is her humility, accessibility, and sense of humo(u)r. My wife and I are quickly becoming fans.
She is a very natural, enthusiastic and engaging presenter backed up with cycling credibility. GCN is lucky to have her on the show. Keep up the good work.
My Family is from Wales. I went on Holiday there in 2018; it’s a beautiful country! I live in the Ozark Highlands in Missouri, USA. Perhaps I will visit again for a cycling tour. Thanks!
You have a lighthearted spirituality that flows in a way that honestly touches the the soul of why we should ride....to bring us joy and back again home....every time...
Lovely. Enjoying my annual pilgrimage to Monmouthshire. Cycling, fishing, castles, cider, pretty towns ...... when it's not raining it is heaven and when it is, well you just wait a bit.
Thanks Manon. My great grandfather left Wales years ago and now I know what he was missing. The language is a beautiful as the countryside. If you ever want to ride in the sun, come try the coast of Southern California!
Manon: "Gonna do the welsh alphabet. Let me just clear my throat" *Clears throat for next 10 seconds* Manon: "Phew, I'm out of breath. Right, lets take in more views"
Thanks so much Manon! GCN videos are great and it is great idea to take us to Wales! I am french currently based in Singapore and I love Cycling. I might move to the UK and I am actually quite excited to cycle in Europe and discover This beautiful country on my bike. Your video was really a great source of excitement! :)
Manon that is a beautiful place you grew up in. I really like watching your videos and you’re a great presenter. One of my favorite rides is ocean drive in Newport Rhode Island then out to second beach and back to home. Keep up the good work and stay safe out there.
"It's so sunny and beautiful today." - literally looks like a thunderstorm is coming up any moment. The view is indeed very nice and that descent looks so fun!
This is one just fantastic bit of film. I have just finished watching it for the 3rd time. How can you beat it when you've got a really good and entertaining presenter riding through such beautiful countryside. She inspired me to think about having a cycling holiday in Wales next year and also to have a go at making Bara Brith. I've just finished making my 3rd one and I think I've now got it right. Great stuff Manon, get some more films like this made.
I love Wales. I was born and grew up in Cornwall and Live in New Zealand. Wales has the best bits of both of these places, and I do love a Welsh Breakfast! Spent a week there with my Mountainbike the other year. So good.
Here's a tip for these pandemic times we are living through - removable zip ties - I always carry 4 or 6 of them wrapped around my handle bars so that, had I called in and got some Welsh Cakes or Bara Brith (which looks tasty), then you can easily zip tie the wrapper onto your bars or even the bike frame/fork legs. Only last week I called in at my local Amazon locker to collect what I thought would be a jiffy bag and ended up with a 10inch by 20inch carton and by simply using my keys to puncture a hole through two corners and threading a zip tie through each hole the box stayed on for the 5 mile trip home.
My stepfather is Welsh and he took our family there when I was a kid. It's absolutely gorgeous. I remember the hilly roads of Neath and have since dreamed of going back to ride as much a I possibly can. Hopefully I'll be able to shortly after this pandemic reaches its conclusion.
Thanks for the inspiration Manon, planned a route including Dryslwyn Castle and the Black Mountain on my last long ride. Thoroughly enjoyed it! I was lucky with the weather as well - bonus.
@@chicodiflora Looked at over a year, the weather in Southern Ontario would cause one's head to pop off. Can be an annual 65-80 degree difference in temperatures (if winter is really cold, and summer really hot it can hit 80 - usually it is closer to a 60-65 degree high/low range).

Manon well done, I enjoy the educational and entertaining videos of all the GCN team, but you bring to the show that something more, Bravo and thank you.
Love this Manon. The stretch alongside the river at the start of the climb on the north side of Black Mountain is one of the prettiest sections of road to ride in Wales. It's Black Mountain (singular) though, not Black Mountains. The Black Mountains (plural) refers to the range of mountains on the eastern edge of the Brecon Beacons stretching from Abergavenny, Crickhowell across the border to Herefordshire. Nevertheless, fantastic advert for the great riding we have here in Wales. Thanks Manon.

Fun video! Nice to see Manon in a more intimate, unscripted video where more of her personality comes through. Manon, love your videos. Thank you for showing me around your beautiful home.
"It's not famous, just another castle around here, you know" NO MANON I DO NOT KNOW 😍
Britain has thousands of castles just randomly throughout the countryside
Most of us live in castles
For Americans, ANY castle is pretty cool. I've never actually seen a real castle (not counting Disneyland).
Just stumbled across a documentary about castles on the telly the other day. Apparently Wales has the highest density of castles per unit area.
