In Korea this palace is well known to be built by the Great King Sejong, the creator of Hangeul(Korean alphabet). The one of the 5 Joseon palaces.

지금은 잘 개방하고 있는 것 같아요.
아! 이전에 동물원이었던 적이 있었다고 들었어요. 일제가 이씨 왕가의 위엄을 격하 시킬 의도로 왕궁을 동물원으로 만들어버렸다더라구요. 현재는 완전히 복구 시켜서 다시 왕궁의 모습으로 돌아갔습니다ㅋ
