The XA-21 exhaust note is I’d say my second favorite exhaust note in the game. My #1 favorite would have to be like the one from the Buffalo STX, Picador, a nice beefy V8 sounding to them.🔥
I was really surprised by this but the OG mustang ( Dominator) that you can just steal off the street has an amazing, very deap, growl/rumble sound when you max it out!! I agree with your top 10 almost to a T, but the OG Dominator would have to be a special mention for me just because as long as I've played this game, I didn't realize how well rounded that car was maxed out and how amazing it sounds until just a few months ago. Wouldn't let me edit my comment for some reason but another car that not only sounds really good but in my opinion is very underrated is the Deviant .... You have to be a muscle car enthusiast to get this but once you learn how to drive/ get comfortable with this car, its an absolute beast!!! And it also would be a special mention just outside of top 10, for me at least....
Unrelated to GTA, but NFS Heat's exhaust note customisation was amazing. I was always experimenting with metallic resonance and overrun, especially on my favourite muscle cars. Managed to get my Mustang's exhaust to sound almost like you were driving through a never-ending tunnel. Great picks - this is making me wish I'd picked up a Blackfin before it got removed. Thankfully got the XA-21 recently, though.
I feel like the Albany Virgo is definitely underrated when it comes to exhaust notes and idk why, it has that deep classic V8 and it has crackles (granted no where near the same level as stirling and black fin) especially when double clutching and letting off the throttle
The Calico GTF start-up is one of the best ones in the game for sure. The way it rev up when you start It and the turbo sound just after it is Just too good to hear. It's a good onorable mention. As you say there are a lot of cars with amazing engine sounds and it would be really cool to see another top ten or another list with vehicles with good engine sound (cars like the GP1, the ETR1,...)
Not sure if u forgot to mention, but on the blackfin, if you double clutch and while it's bouncing off the rev limiter, letting go of throttle makes some crazy loud overrun, almost like the sound is glitching out, super unique
LOVE the mamba. I like to drive it around like I own it, because one crash will cave that car in. It's a nice little challenge, and it looks and sounds incredible.
I recently got the XA-21 from Simeons and when I first drove it and let off the throttle, I was just amazed how much overrun it could make, I just couldnt stop listening to that awesome sound! I do own most of these vehicles on this list and still my personal favourite is either the Stirling GT or the Fränken Stange. But the startup sound, the idle and rev on the Striling GT, all of it sounds so awesome combined.
I don't own any electric cars because I can't enjoy their silent engines. For me, the sound of a car's engine is a huge part of what makes it enjoyable to drive.
The clean version of the rat truck sounds incredible. Super aggressive and throaty for a v8 in the game. I think it’s the only car to use that sound and that’s a shame. Also the faction sounds really good too.
Personally I think the Grotti Stinger is the best sounding car in the game, it just sounds so addicting, and then also the vapid stainer sounds very addicting when you over rev it
maybe you've started doing this in your more recent customisation vids, but im really glad you've finally turned up the ingame sound when talking about it. You used to keep the volume low when you get in the car and it starts up and I can never properly hear the engine sound :P
Why? You whine loud enough as it is. If you want to play a car game go play need for speed or something. The cars in GTA are simply fluff for the game not the main focus
Some constructive criticism - the footage for each car doesn't do their sounds justice. Would've been super easy to go to a more isolated part of the map (or set up an empty custom race) and used the Rockstar Editor to put the camera closer to the exhaust - that would eliminate all of the ambient noises and NPCs and would allow you to hear the finer details of the sounds way better. Still, your car picks were good!
I agree with that. The amount of detail you hear when you use rockstar editor and put the camera very close is amazing and sounds 10x better honestly 💯
Wanted to mention the schwarzer, it had it exhaust sounds changed from ps3 to ps4. The sound change made me instantly store it in my garage and still drive it these days.
1 of my favorite exhaust notes that I don’t think I hear in other cars is the vectre when u let off the gas at high speeds , it makes a Audible rumbling/popping noise.
when the Blackfin pop up in my Mod Shop... I straight up buy it because it's a Corvette and when I drove it for the 1st time the sound blew my mind and it is now my main cruising car replacing the Dukes... the Paragon R sounded very nice as well in my opinion...
You can manually shift DCA at the top of the rpm let off the throttle then begin to push the throttle again and it will sound like a manual and shift to the next gear

I actually have all but one or two of these cars that you mentioned. I probably gravitated to them for this very reason. They sound amazing, most of them look awesome if you're a car guy that likes classic cars. They don't all drive great, but there's no doubt that they're fun to drive! Especially if you have a good Soundsystem
The ZR350 rotary will always be my favorite. I'm so happy they finally changed the idle noise to actually sound like a rotary! You say the Sultan RS sounds like the Subaru it's based on but it's actually based on a Lexus IS300/Altezza which uses is a 2JZ GE inline 6. I never understood what all the Subaru rally mods you could put on it were for because the car only takes minor styling choices from an Impreza 2.5RS Coupe where as the entire car is really supposed to be the Altezza.
900R is so good too. Unique V10 sound that reminds me of the E60 M5 and the overrun is unreal when it does the rapid fire bangs - I don’t know another GTA car that does this.
@@Stress_._Free I use the inside of the car view unless I'm driving an armored kuruma or an insurgent in which case I usually just switch over to chase cam. I also lack the skill to effectively shoot at things from the in car cam so when the bullets start flying I switch to chase cam. After a small adjustment period I found first person driving is way more satisfying than chase cam. Things can get a little sketchy when you're hauling ass and cresting a hill because you have no clue what's on the other side until you get there.

I admittedly do have favorites with some of the car sounds but my biggest beef with GTA V ever since the day I finally gave it the chance to be played was sound diversity even nowadays I find there's way too many cars that recycle the same engine sounds and that really deters me from broadening my horizons and my garages outside of some OG vehicles and specific favorites

One of my favorite ignition start sounds is the Turismo R and one of my favorite idle sounds is the Entity XF.
