Having him cover his mouth in shock and horror at the end is what does me in. I've only ever seen something like that in this production and to me it's the gut punch of him finally, truly understanding.
I feel mixed emotions when I watch this finale. Racette is a wonderful actress and a good singer, but her vibrato is too strong in this scene. The puppet breaks the tension required for this crucial moment: it is frightening and adds nothing to the drama due to its lack of expression. Too many people in such intimate moment. So....not the best production. Personal opinion, of course.

Who cares about production at this point. It is so moving and that's what is needed.
