She is great in this role but, for some reason, her voice sounds pale and not so dramatic as it should be in this scene. This is happening with most sopranos these days. True spinto voices are now very rare to find.
@@michaelfuting2403 I beg to differ from your opinion my dear. If I wanted to see an artist interpreting a dramatic role only by facial expressions I would go to the theater. Opera is mainly about singing and emotions should be expressed by the voice. Well, it used to be this way in a not so distant past. Just a matter of personal taste, though.
I disagree, the video has a low volume so her ability is not appreciated as much; although Ermonela does not have a very powerful voice, she stands out for her ability to transmit feeling (not only through acting, but with her voice itself), it is not for nothing that she is the most awarded and best-rated soprano in general of our era.@@ESilva-gw9ig
A pale reflection, colorless performance. Hayashi's Butterfly eclipses this performance on all counts, acting, voice, the ability to, even in the death scene, show resignation and still, strength. This was over the top almost amateurish.

Yes, this is how Madama Butterfly is done.
It’d be a long time before ANYONE tops that performance.
jam krenar per kete soprane te mrekullueshme shqiptare.
MARAVILLOSA
Nobody like Ermonela to act the distress and desesperation of a character
The ending was acted like an old silent movie.
Very beautiful... but this is messed up
Brava!

It is dramatic enough! Look to her! It's not a matter of only hearing...

@@ESilva-gw9ig He said her VOICE sounded pale.
Absolutely agree. Requires a bit more spinto

Wow, I would love to see you give a better performance 🤨
