    I'm in the UK and found a 1987 Suzuki vs 750 intruder with 8000 miles on it in near mint condition. My first big bike after passing my test and it runs so well. 3 months after buying it, I did a 6 week tour of the UK equalling around 7000 miles total and this bike didn't miss a beat even when I was in the saddle for 10 hours a day.
    Aside from a service at the halfway mark and an oil change, it just kept going.
    Handling back roads and dirt trails just as well as it did highways and motorways.

    I found. 95 Intruder sitting in a guy’s garage with only 1,860 miles on it. It looked like it just came off the showroom floor because it had been garaged the whole time, he just never rode it. I got it for $500! New battery and some tires and I’m good to go. She now has 19,000 miles on it and counting!

    Great review. Found one for $900 but getting it for $650. Runs perfect and has been converted to a bobber. Paint job ain't so great but a quick black plastic dip mat will fix that up for now. Coming off sports bikes and wasn't sure if this had enough power but as soon as I got done watching this vid I hit the guy up that I'm coming tomorrow to pick it.

    I have a 95 intruder 800 bobber and I'm in love. I thought at almost 300 pounds I thought I'd want to get something bigger as soon as i got comfortable but I have no interest in getting rid of this bike anytime soon. I only have 2 "complaints". 1. I'm in high gear by 45 MPH. A 6th gear would be great, and I don't care for the placement or size of the pegs. Another inch or so wider and slightly more forward or back would be nice.

    It's interesting how in US or UK people talk about 800 - 900 displacement bikes as beginner or "girl" bikes. Here in spain a beginner bike is a 125 cc, normally people jump onto ~600 after that and bikes like this are considered serious business. A matter of culture, I guess.

    Question to VS 800 owners - and maybe 1400 too however I've owned 800 only:
    Did you experience a noticeable or even strong vibrations at higher speeds? Mine had quite acceptable level of vibs until around 80 km/h, and anything above that - vibs keep getting stronger and stronger. Both feet and hands, I think feet were receiving more severe numbness and quite quickly too. Short evening ride for fun and I really had to rest for a bit allowing hands and legs to return back to work :) damn. I loved everything else about this bike, just like BoB says - lightweight, fast, agile, cheap - but vibrations were killing all the fun. Planned some longer trips but they never went into effect because of that vibrations disabling me after one hour. Or riding max 75 km/h all day, which does not make much sense...
    What's your opinion on this? Was my particular bike defective somehow, or this model just have it like that? How about 1400? I would still love to ride one, but maybe the problem is even worse there?

    • @xnielsda1
      @xnielsda1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i've done drives of 120km/h for 1,5h on mine but no numbness or extreme vibration. but doing 160 or so is vibrating for me. but you could check about wheel balancing. ive hear that it could be possible that they are out balance and cause vibration

    • @korzbro35
      @korzbro35 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xnielsda1 Thanks. No, it definitely was coming from engine, the kind of high frequency vibrations that you can get instantly when revving. Wheels would rather introduce some stronger but low freq vibrations, and here I got numbness and "ants" on feet and hands. I don't own that bike any more but thinking about returning to the bigger brother, 1400, in some time.

    • @motorandom9857
      @motorandom9857  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the question and sorry for the late response. In my experience the vs800 can be a tad...buzzy? I guess...I don't find the vibes of the 800 to be crippling per se but after an extended period of time, say, an hour ;) it can induce some fatigue. Adding weight to the handlebar ends can help reduce the effect but everyone's tolerance will vary. The vs1400 however is pretty much a jackhammer at almost any speed. Every time I ride it I ask myself "how did we ever put down thousands of miles (mostly light touring with my wife) on this ridiculous machine?!"
      ...And then I twist the throttle and smile...
      Cheers :)

    • @motorandom9857
      @motorandom9857  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I rode an XV535 for awhile. It was my sisters...seriously lol but yeah...To hopefully answer your question, the Virago is a much smaller and lighter bike than the VS800 and from my experience ALL bikes get tossed around by the wind to some degree.
      Typically the heavier a bike is; the less effected they are by the wind, although it varies from one bike to another. Even bigger bikes like our H-D Fatboy get blown around, like on the Bay Bridge for instance...gets pretty windy up there.
