Thanks i have done this recipe. It was super easy, and delicious. Some notes: Cut the chicken for small pieces, and bake it in the pan long enough to be sure it is done. When it is 80% add the souce. / i have served it with ramen noodles not with lettuce what was a good idea. thanks again
Chef? Is there a special reason to use white sugar? I only use brown one. Same question for salt. If possible i use only seasalt w/o flour or other fancy stuf. Thank you 💭🍽👍
Brown sugar is also ok. In commercial chinese kitchen, white sugar are easier to scoop than brown one. We seldom use salt since our seasonings are already a bit salty. Thanks for asking and also Thanks for watching
Is it just me, or does another cook just love the loud clanging of metal to metal when stir frying? I just love the process. It's almost as good as eating it! It's the best cooking method for ADD cooks. Lots of speed, noise, and excitement!
Lot of viewers like the actual sound from the kitchen / cooking sound effects. I know some dislike it. Thanks for appreciating my video style and also thanks for watching.
It is definitely not just you. I love to watch and hear wok cooking. The sizzle of the food and the clash of the chan with the wok is part of the whole experience.
When I was young ( toddler ), every time I heard those clank clink kitchen sound. I know my parents are cooking again with delicious stir fry cooking. Those are like musics to my ears. Thanks for watching.
Please let us know the heat settings besides time when cooking. For example, med hi, or med for 10 min etc. Otherwise i would leave the heating too high or too low then the recipe comes out wrong. Thank you. Great recipe and better cooking instructions versus other videos. Thanks
Set stove to high during stir fry chicken meat. And lower heat to medium high after the sauce is boiling. Thanks for asking and also thanks for appreciating my cooking video.
Not good idea. Cornstarch is better for sealing juice inside the chicken meat . Also necessary for making slurry. Thanks for asking and thanks for watching.
Got a terrible Hoisin Sauce packet from the supermarket. Think I will marinade the chicken with soy sauce and Five Spice beforehand now. Thank you chef.
Less is more. No wine in the marinade. No vegetables. Let the five spice powder dominate the dish. I like it. I like simplicity. I will definitely try it.
I been woking since the 60's. skill accumulated for about 6 decades. Retired now. Just sharing my skills to you guys. Just lucky I learn some english to be able to post these cooking in english ( rather then in chinese only ) thanks for watching.
Chicken breast are easy to work with, But I would recommend chicken thigh. Although you need to do extra work by removing bones, but they are the most flavored part of a chicken. They do have marbling fat, between lean meat. Thanks for asking and Thanks for watching.
You are right , it show on the line up ( 0:47 ) . It was an error, I shouldn't include that in the line up. Yes, omit that. I actually didn't use white pepper in this cooking , neither include in my list of ingredients. Good Observation, you got a sharp pair of eyes. Thanks for watching.
