Of course, this committee will likely bail, hide out and never take responsibility for including all the dead-weight instead of investing. Look at the Men's Sprint Team - bringing on a 16-year-old. He didn't perform VERY well but he also didn't fall apart. We don't know if his young psyche can handle this "too young" criticism - that is a risk, too. But that Sprint Team Managers/Coaches have now accepted it as THEIR job to make sure he weathers this storm OR find someone else. No one knew if LeBron could handle NBA play at his youngest age either... he seems to have done well BUT we've seen a whole lot more than didn't. LeBron is rare, therefore... I wish Women's Basketball could make sure they have proper investments AND proper counseling. After seeing Griner and TR out there, they couldn't have won a game if the team needed. sigh... but that IS what age and years in prison do.
What you said is very true and tho she got her 6 the gold, people in this generation, will always remember how greedy it was for her that she got the game but truly didn’t work for it and someways left out that deserved more in her peak time who’se no other than CC. She and Griner were unnecessary weights. I was happy to see teary-eyed Griner show appreciation for the USA F I N A L L Y in a form that almost seemed personally sincere. Since she's never done that before, though, it's hard to read his face. Griner had a physical presence that may have been useful but, then again, I'll bet a younger player could have accomplished as much AND gained experience for the next Olympics. That next team will have few Oly-experienced players. Oh well... give 'em a loss, fine. That's what THIS selection committee wanted... I bet NONE of them are on the 2028 selection committee.
