Have to say the original neck gels best - more smooth and mellow, but they are all good, easterns noticeably brighter and edgey.

Listening to this. I am kind of wondering, why even include the room sound? It was pretty disorienting and didn't actually help tell the difference between necks.

I understand your point of view but I recorded the sound of the room in order to evaluate the 2 different aspects of the sound due to the neck. Projection and spread. The proximity microphone captures the first feature, the ambient microphone the second feature. Each of those necks has its own characteristics. The original "CONN" ones generally have a more spread sound, the "POWER NECK" necks have a more projective sound. Then I noticed a lot of difference between the 2 pairs of necks. The C10 neck seems to me the most projective of all, the copper one a cross between an original CONN and a C10 (the copper is my favorite). Among the 2 original CONN necks, the Transitional one seems to me the most spread ever, while the 10M neck is much more projective. These are feelings that are difficult to describe and record. I tried my best.

@@friskaletto I get what you are saying and it makes sense. I just imagine you could have had a much better result if you had completely separate sections for each individual sound test. “Recorded vs live”. Mixing it up just made it harder to hear than it needed to be. It felt pretty random to me.

I did my best but I probably could have done better. Thanks
