This was a song about her boyfriend (Angus) that was moving away at the time. MAPS stands for My Angus Please Stay. It was rumored that during the video shoot he showed up to see her before he left and that is when she saw him and thats when you see the tears.. Other Yeah Yeah Yeah songs - Zero, Gold Lion, Down Boy.. Tons of others. Similar bands around this genre - some suggestions. Alt-J - th-cam.com/video/rVeMiVU77wo/w-d-xo.html Santigold - th-cam.com/video/rHrGgt1C4Qk/w-d-xo.html The Strokes - th-cam.com/video/_l09H-3zzgA/w-d-xo.html Black Keys - th-cam.com/video/a_426RiwST8/w-d-xo.html other artists - The Kills, Lorde, The Dead Weather.
Just saw this reaction. I love YYYs! Very underrated new millennium New York post punk band - just like many of that shortlived scene, really. Hope u listen to more of these guys, they do a decent live show & Karen is sweet and interacts a lot with the audience. BTW no bassist, just the three!
Btw I wanted to add, their debut studio album Fever To Tell (which Maps is off of) actually is one of my handful of no-skip albums. But! Maps is their sad, soft, lost love ballad and very unlike the band's typical sound, which is loud and raw and punk and a bit spicy. You'll see!
Big Shout out to Jimmie V!! ❤🔥Thank you for the request!!

This song is beautiful, my favorite song ever, just simply fantastic.
During Covid lockdowns she did a performance of this song live-streamed from her closet and it was amazing.
