Hi! Sorry to inform you but you cannot use fish sauce to substitute "Belacan" (Shirmp Paste) but try using fermented shrimp In a bottle. It wouldn't be the same but it gives that flavour ever so slightly. Good luck!

Oh! It's really simple. You need to blend equal parts of ginger and garlic into a fine paste. Can be stored in the fridge up to months. Use when necessary and properly store back. Hope this helps you out.
