Everyone seems to gave forgotten what malacia was like. When he firat came in he tore it up and displaced shaw who was playing shit at the time. Malacia then picked up a knock and Shaw upped his game as he had competition for his place. Thats when shaw started to look like the best left back in england. Malacia never really got back into the first team after this and then got this baffelling injury

I may be wrong but when it is an obligation to buy does it not sometimes mean that if the player meets certain criteria over the season they have to be bought but if they don’t then they don’t have to buy them
Sometimes there's conditions that have to be met yes, sometimes it's just a straightforward obligation! Hopefully we get some clauses in there with targets that need to be met like he has to play a set amount of games, or be available for a set amount of games.

Loan with an obligation to buy is not the same as a loan and mandatory buy. The mandatory buy is buy no matter what after the loan period, obligation to buy usually have conditions in the loan that have to be met before the obligation becomes mandatory, ie no injuries, number of appearances etc etc. The clue is what the words obligation and mandatory actually mean.

Obligation to buy means the player has to meet a set criteria over a set time period, where as mandatory to buy u have to buy regardless of the season performance, there is no objectives for the player/team to achieve.
