Running out of time is such a lame argument as far as the club is concern. They have had 2 months to close the deal and that position of striker should be the 1st one to start with. I don't think Chelsea will go back to him, but Osimhen still have plenty of opportunities in top clubs in Europe.

Didn’t you hear what he said? They both had to compromise at the last minute. It is called negotiation. The problem was that Chelsea was distracted with the deal for Gallagher cos Atletico Madrid wanted Gallagher and that was pure profit and Chelsea wanted that sale to hedge Omorodion deal. The delay in that deal caused Chelsea Osimhen. And when Chelsea came along Osimhen wanted Chelsea to match PSG wages atleast.
Napoli wanted Osimhen to go to Middle East, the perks with the Arabian club buying him was advantageous to them.
It was a complex situation.
Towards the end, when the issue was clear it was already too late. If he does well in Galatasary, and Chelsea does well this season, since the negotiation ended on a good note, Chelsea is in the pole position to get him.

Good Mikel has cleared the air on Victor not signing for Chelsea last window. However Chelsea left it too late, they had all the time in the world to have sealed the deal before the close of the window.

While I applaud all that Jon Obi Mikel has done to help get this deal done, we were looking at Victor Osimhen in the summer transfer window of 2023. Now where were the negotiations to get him to Chelsea then? Or was that just talk? And I cannot believe that it took so long to finally negotiate the terms, that we failed to get this past the post by the transfer deadline. It seems that Chelsea fans are being asked over and over again to have faith in the system/ project/process that we have seen fail time and time again. Jon Obi Mikel talks about how much he trusts Paul WinStanley but we haven’t seen anything, from him that we can have faith in. We’ve needed a top quality goalkeeper for 2 summer transfer windows under Winstanley’s watch. But they didn’t get us one. We now have 6/7 keepers none of whom we can rely on. Thiago Silva leaves on a free transfer and rather than getting somebody of Thiago Silva quality we got somebody of Thiago Silva’s price. By that I mean Thiago Silva left on a free transfer and we brought in someone on a free transfer. But that person that we brought in is nowhere near the quality that we need.and yet again we have not been able to get a first class striker.
