For those talking about it in the comments here, the artist who originally designed Fury (Joe Mad) did her re-design for Darksiders 3 as well, though he isn’t working at Gunfire full-time (he’s actually working on his own game, Battle Chasers).

I personally like her redesign and really the only real super change is that she has actual armor on and it is absolutely 'Darksiders' style armor! I hope we get to see her horse really want to see it!

I wish it could have survived what Radical did to it with Prototype 2 "story":D
Their publisher still has rights, so when hack&slash will start going up in popularity again(upcoming God of War 4, Darksiders 3, maybe Konami will sober up and make Revengeance 2 instead of some crap... though that's less likely then Prototype 3 now), they might remember about it. Activision/Blizzard has no shortage of money or developement teams full of skilled members after all(even if I view their products as being too casual last decade) so I wouldn't drop hopes for P3(even though it'll most likely be a remake of first game and not third part).
I wish Kingdoms of Amalur survived the closure of 38 studios. I've heard rumors of the ip being bought, but I wouldn't hold my breath

totally agree. the world of these games, dungeons, puzzles, common and boss battles, character upgrades and of course the mythology and story of Darksiders are godly epic. Too much hype for this game, finally is coming.

Really glad that THQ Nordic brought back the Darksiders franchise. It just didn't feel right to end on Darksiders 2 with Fury and Strife still not having their own games/stories. I am hoping DS3 sells well enough to make a Darksiders 4 with Strife as the main character and then optimistically a 5th game where all 4 horseman are playable and finish off where Darksiders 1 ended

Pre-alpha, this is nowhere near the final release. Combat will be just as good as Darksiders 1 & 2
Oh I know this is just pre-alpha footage, and I have every faith they'll pull through; still, with Furys whip looking more like a dead fish than an implement of destruction, I had to say it at least once xD

Finishers are the mvp of Darksiders. Killing the regular enemies in
brutally epic fashions and the bosses in awesome cutscenes are all I ask from this game.
and it was great how they did in DS2. Not 100% and you got a bonus when you did do it.
Yes, it was great but only 2, maybe 3 different finishers moves. And we want to see much more in this one.
aesthetically yes they could use more. I'd also like some gameplay elements added to such as a finisher that causes an enemy to explode or you throw the target at a nearby enemy.
Finally ... The reveal of Darksiders 3 was something I had given up hope for.... Darksiders is such a great and criminally underrated franchise... Here's hoping 3 will be great as well ... Oh and please bring back Jesper Kyd for the soundtrack... His work for Darksiders 2 was amazing.

I just hope they fix fury's design. I'm sure the game will look good, but the old art director is gone I believe and you can definitely see the effect of his departure in fury's design.

That's disappointing. She looks like something League of legends left on the cutting room floor. They can do better than this, but at least the gameplay looks solid.
The Procrastinator they changed Fury's design. Originally her hair was black, her face was normally proportioned, and her skin was white. I'm really hoping they change her design back completely to Joe Mad's.

bought Darksiders 1 Darksiders 2 Darksiders 1 warmaster edition and Darksiders 2 deathinitive edition. We are eagerly waiting for Darksiders 3. My humble request to the developers is please take your time, refine and polish the game before you release it. And also please remodel Furys weapon to look more prominent like the chains of Kratos from God of war. The chain/whip looks so thin and insignificant in the alpha build trailer that I doubt it would even hurt a fly.

what I say should be improved! hopefully it's better in the next 1½ years!
1) combat- make it more fluid like DS2 (since it's in pre-alpha I can almost guarantee it will be way better) loved the combat in DS2 ♥️
2) her face... this is just a matter of preference! I don't mind her face, but as some people say it could be better, maybe the skin color to match the other Horsemen or like Lilith ♥️
All this we're seeing is very early-release type stuff. I'm sure they're not finished with the final character model, or the combat. As you say, it's pre-alpha; the combat will be MUCH better in the final release.
Also: Make her skin just a tad lighter. I'm not saying she needs to be a white chick, but her basic concept in the DrS1 artbook showed her having much lighter skin. I think it fits her better than this weird brownish tint.

The news about this game is uplifting. I remember the 'what darksiders 3 could have been' article on this website; heck it's still there. I loved the first two games and despite what some say, the atmosphere and mood/ world of the second game is still stuck in my soul. I guess the chances of getting Jesper Kyd back are slim though.
i wished titan quest survived the THQ sellout too. Yeah grim dawn is good but i liked the mythical greece settings. Titan quest 3 with decent engine and multiplayer would be the best h&s ARPG out there :(
They say they wanna finish what they started then they need to make a Darksiders 4 as well. and possibly 5 where the riders rebel against the council.
Fury looks badass to me, and hot.

Excited doesn't begin to cover my emotions for this game. I was heartbroken when it looked like the franchise was killed, and now I couldn't be happier. I haven't felt this way about a game for quite some time, and probably won't again until KH3. Whenever that is -.-
All I personally want is the level of music of DS2 (not saying the first one was any bad) and the executions/finishers to be epic as usual. And the story to be solid as the first 2 games were, maybe bring in Mark Hamill again to voice different Watcher or other character? Other than that any modifications they make I'll be satisfied with.
I'm EXTREMELY excited about this game. Me being a huge Darksiders fan, seeing the third installment makes me really happy. Im glad that the team got back together and came thru for us! :)

I'm really excited for this game. I'm so glad they were able to come back together and make it. I went and bought the bundle on PSN to replay the first one, finish the second one and hopefully help support the studio and developers. Can't wait to get my hands on the new game!

I'm so beyond hyped for Darksiders 3, I loved the first two games. Relieved that the franchise isn't dead. Without Joe Mad as lead creative designer, I hope it'll manage to live up to the aesthetic of previous games.
Ever since I got the game on GWG, I have been in love with it. I played it for a while in my 360 but the bugs and glitches stopped me from playing it for a long while. Now, since it's now backward compatible on my Xbox One S, I can finally play it again with no bugs and glitches and finish it on time when Darksiders 3 comes out. Also, I never played the first one, only a demo.
Guys did you hear it ;/? One dude said "I started making games because i wanted to make others happy". This is a true gamer/game developer!! Not greedy companies which add to much money in-game perks. Never play a game of them, but im going def now!
i am so pumped to see that darksiders isn't dead. have platined 1 and 2 on ps3 and ps4, and when i heard little info about darksiders 3 i was skeptic but i was just hoping to be true. and now with the game revealed me and all my buddies are excited to relive the game again with a new adventure.
Nothing can surpass the Darksiders 2 Soundtrack, NOTHING, if they succeed in that the game will be awesome.

I absolutelly love those games and consider the first one as one of the best games I have ever played.
Huge expectations for this one though, hope it deliveres.
Here's to hoping they make the textures more realistic, Fury getting smaller eyes, and death animations. Like when you get your enemies at certain points of their health then you have the option killing them off in a stylish way like Death did in Darksiders II.

The amount of hype I have for this game is unreal, loved the first two and I was very hooked with the story. My only concern is the face of Fury, if they change it to be more gritty and without pupils, just yellow orbs like her brothers who have just white and orange eyes, then she will fit perfectly. (Sidenote: I wonder if she will have a weapon or magic attack related to Strife.)
honestly I think the whip would be better as a death grip type item, daggers, swords, or even a segmented sword would probably feel more impactful. I really liked the first two games and I don't want to see this series die until we meet all the riders and get a conclusion to War's plotline. but with combat being a primary focus of the game it needs to feel impactful, or it won't hold people's attention

Even if this game doesn't live up to the first two (Darksiders II had massive improvements over the original) I would not regret buying this game and I hope that regardless the outcome they make a Darksiders IV with Strife. The franchise itself has great potential from a lore basis and as long as that sticks around I can handle small things like Fury's model.
Hope this turns out good...Darksiders is such a good franchise. And you can see the passion on these developers.

I've seen so many games die out thanks to their companies closing. Kinda like the PROTOTYPE series ending in a cliffhanger, still wished to see Heller go after Pariah (or at this point, just rebooting this game back to Alex again)
I personally liked Alex more than Heller. Mercer had so much potential at the end of the first game, but I feel like they really wasted it by shifting the focus to Heller.
They didn't transfer what happened in the comics for a second movie, and just shoved a new character in progressing the storyline after all the things he saw while looking for Pariah. I REALLY wanted to see him go after it in a second game that never existed, that's why i'm hoping at least for a reboot that still stays fateful.

To the developers, if you read this. Thank you for making Darksiders 3! I can't wait to continue the saga.
in addition to using X,Y or ⬜,∆. I feel the right trigger on controller should be the special fierce whip properties for example if u press the right trigger and hold it would either hold the enemy by impaling them straight thru and than either pulling it out causing chunks of flesh to come out or entangling them in whip and could choose to swing them around into objects and enemies while controlling the movement with the right analog stick. Or in either hold u can do fatality finishers. And lastly since she has magic she can imbue her whip with magic by pressing Left trigger for example while holding the enemy entangled or impaled I can press left trigger and u have a choice between lightning amd fire or whatever that will engulf their bodies and than possibly swinging them and throwing the enemy into other enemies for extra damage and also this could factor into puzzles too... But going back to the face buttons if u combine those combos into the right trigger whip hold move could cause different levels of hold moves. Just a thought lol.
Super Pumped for Darksiders 3. Loved 1 and 2. Always had hope that a third one would be made and became convinced of it when they released Darksiders Warmastered. HYPE!
After War, Death, Fury and Strife, I personally want a couple more of these.
I just hope the combat will look and feel better than what was shown in the pre alpha. Maybe add some more visual effects and a better soundeffect. idk I am not a game designer. otherwise, it looks really good so far. Really looking forward to this.
Really happy we are getting three. I remember playing 1 and 2 when they both came originally came out on last gen. Hope this does well and we geta fourth one with strife and a co-op for the last game.
So glad that the Darksiders franchise lives on. Hopefully with Darksiders V, we get to play as all four horsemen and finally move beyond the ending of the original Darksiders.

A long road to get the Darksider game focusing on the Horsemen of Famine side of the storyline. In a poetic twist getting this game to be created was probably like suffering through famine itself.
Well I'm glad they're coming back. I loves the first two games, though they felt short gameplay timewise. The story was good the art was amazing. I can't wait for Fury and Strife afterwards. Keeping pushing through.

That said, I wonder what weapons she'd borrow from her brothers. In DS1 War had Death's Scythe. In DS2 Death held Strife's Gun. Maybe Fury will hold War's Sword in DS3

I really hope that they give Strife his own game too. When playing DS1 war's gun was left by Strife on purpose, on DS2 Death's gun was also left by Strife internationally. Strife's story seems more interesting. I bet fury will have a gun too, left behind by Strife. Fury now it is your turn. I love this game. @IGN
I have faith in the gameplay and Story of DS3 in the future, it will most likely live up to the name of Darksiders.
What I do have an issue with, is the character designs. I Pray that a miracle happens and they bring back the Original Comics artist, Joe Madureira.
Check his Original Designs of Fury, she was so fearless and flawless. This new art style, makes DS3 and Fury like they were a League of Legends or Overwatch character, instead of the gore driven Hardcore style of Darksiders.
True I will agree with that Fury's OG design from the comics and DS3 concept art is a lot better.
actually joe mad did the revision and personally i like this design better than the comics cuz she looked pale AF........and there is room for only one PALE RIDER in the FOUR HORSEMEN of the APOCALYPSE
