  • As winter gave way to spring the world watched and waited as the Allied forces prepared for Operation Overlord. Brave and daring, risking all, U.S. General Dwight D. Eisenhower took charge of the campaign to deliver the fight for freedom directly to Adolf Hitler.

      McIntyreBible. I used to work with a guy (RIP Frank) who was there in North Africa. He said he saw Monty many times and while hindsight showed that Monty wasn't the brilliant military strategist history has claimed, he did inspire his men, addressing them personally.

    Em 21:32 é que o documentário começa a fica interessante (e recebeu meu like), saindo dos acontecimentos militares (que já são bem batidos) para mostrar como uma guerra realmente é vencida: com a economia.
    As forças armadas alemãs eram as melhores do mundo, mas ter alinhadas as produções industriais de UK, US e URSS contra si, era questão de tempo até a matemática se mostrar implacável.
    É isso, amigos. A matemática da economia venceu a guerra, não o Inverno ou uma dúzia de batalhas, que foram onde o que era produzido foi aplicado.

Можно долго перечислять. Мой дед лежал в госпитале, приезжала супруга Черчилля дарила пежаму, дома до сих пор где-то лоскуты полосатые лежат.     90 % of all of victims of the Second world war took place in Russia. The whole continental Europe, an army of 5 million soldiers attacked the Soviet Union. The numbers of victims on the western front and in Pacific area are laughable in comparison.

      @@nistaffsubs6787 You are totally wrong. The Soviets cared about every soldier and Stalin was very competent military leader. All European industry worked for the Nazis. There were thousands of volunteers, the armies of Italy, Romania, Hungary, Finland, Slovakia were fighting side by side with the Germans. 10 million of them were victims of war. On the Soviet side majority of victims were civilians because the Nazis and Fascist took their food.

    It was America that turned the tide of both ww1 and ww2. With the man power and brain power and building power. The soviets would have lost too if it wasnt for American engineering ingenuity. America sent prefabricated tank factorys and armorys.
