    3:50 the old brige is still clearly visible, esp from inside the dock area too which I think belongs to United utilites now

      Thanks for the info. I had seen that at least one of the abutments was still built into the wall in Google street view, from the road, but couldn't get the view from inside the dock as it is today.

      @@ing4trainz No problem at all, excellent video by the way, by the way I have written to both Steve Rotherham MP and both Merseytravel and Mersey rail about resurrecting our old railway infrastructure, and here's why, in the past we had so many more railway stations than we had now , more interconnections between stations, and, conversely less people / and a smaller population, now the population and housing stock has exploded, we have more people and houses popping up every where and where are the railways now that got removed? They are now Cycle paths and industrial estates, disgusting in a city that got Capital of Culture in 2008.

      I agree with you completely.

    Is there any chance of doing the CLC Hunts Cross to Southport Line, now that would be something! Especially as it connected via the Bootle Docks line near Aintree and I'm sure LOR ran to Southport on special occasions?

      Bob and I have the LOR route on hold. There is so much required that it would be more suitable as a group project. We are more model makers rather than route builders so the field is wide open. Any takers?

      Is that CAD software that you are using?

      It's Gmax, a stripped-down (and free) version of 3DMax. It has a Trainz/Auran exporter add-on which lets me create .im files. Another free 3D model-making programme is Blender, but I've never got the hang of it. Gmax has some limitations but I'm used to it now. Basically, you create a series of meshes, texture them with tga image files, add animation etc and then export it. The next stage is to create the package that Trainz needs to import and operate the model. This is a folder containing the meshes, textures, an animation file and the config.txt file. The whole folder is imported into Trainz using Content Manager and that's it. I just do it by way of relaxation - by trade I teach history :-)

      You bet! I am currently working on the tilting bridge which allowed tall road transport under the LOR, then the swing bridge which let ships into Stanley Dock. After that, more warehouses and Liverpool Riverside station and landing pier. Plus Waterloo Goods and some suitable wagons. Lots of models to come!

      @@ing4trainz A modeller has helpfully posted pictures of the Stanley Dock bridge on my RMweb site here; www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/121291-atlantic-dock-in-7mm/page/18/

      Many thanks! They give plenty of very valuable detail. I haven't begun the bridge yet. I've just completed some basic dock railway track in cobbles - I see a previous post was having fun doing that on a 'real' layout. Also, I need a Trainz volunteer who is expert in the art of scripting (closed book to me) to help me get my tilting bridge working, and then the one for Stanley Dock. About to begin preparatory work on modelling Riverside station and the Princes Landing Stage alongside.

    Are there more upgrades of this route?

    • @ing4trainz
      @ing4trainz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, it was a bigger project than Bob and I could manage, especially the cityscape, but all the released models are available on my website if you want to have a go: www.jatws.org/ing4trainz/index.htm

      @@ing4trainz that’s great, I got most of the models, even the 1820s ones, I loved those

      Your'e welcome. I'm currently working on the shorter 60ft rail motor and a couple more trailers, and then probably the GWR 2-4-0 Barnums of 1890.

    Are you aware of this video for any information / details for your CAD design? there looks like a lot of stations and building information in it
