This group is amazing. I really hope you have enjoyed this reaction. Request some more VoicePlay songs i will be happy to react to them. Thank you for the request.
They have a very robust and loyal fan base. I can guarantee that if you cover them and the bass singers personal channel you will get subscribers because we are a very close-knit group. I went ahead and subscribed in hopes that you’ll follow through and I know I won’t be the only one.
They have done a lot of different ones. If you like this one try the "My Mother told Me" and if you are into Dinsey and want to see what Geoff (The Bass) can do try their melody of "The Little Mermaid" and "Moana".
There are many amazing songs by them: the Halo theme, My mother told me, hoist the colours, wicked theme, if I were a rich man, Oogie Boogie song, this is Halloween, Queen in 5 minutes etc. Also check out Geoff Castellucci's (the bass) personal channel - Monster Mash, the Headless Horseman, God rest Ye Merry Gentleman, Shenandoah, Far over the misty mountains cold, the Bare Necessities etc.
@@RadioTeo Voice Play are a very theatrical acapella group They were actually discovered by Disney who assigned them as their acapella group for the Disney songs. Voice play owns Disney cover songs. With every song that voice play sings whether it be Disney or otherwise they always stick to the original song for the most part and always put a little twist of their own to it that way they can call it their own . You will never find a better theatrical acapella group than Voice Play. Please do a reaction video of Voice Plays version of I Got Friends on The Other Side.
Glad you found Voiceplay - I really enjoyed your reaction! The bass is Goeff (Jeff) Castellucci, and he has a channel of his own. He has a range of 5 octaves and 'clones' himself for his videos. 'Oogie Boogie's Song' , '16 Tons' or 'Blackbird' are great examples of what he can do. Eli (Ellee), the wizard, can sing anything - full smooth to rock screams. Cesar (the dark elf in chainmail) is the newest member. Layne is the beatboxer, and he is a full orchestra's worth of percussion. Omar (the wood elf) is a guest singer who has worked with them in 'Superstition' and 'Carry On Wayward Son'. One of their members (J.None) has joined the Navy but returned on leave for 'Friends On the Other Side'. Layne and Geoff do all the arrangements, Eli did the lighting for this one - they do everything themselves. 'Hoist the Colours', 'Queen in 5 Minutes', and 'My Mother Told Me' are some of their more theatrical ones. If you are a gamer try 'ACA Top Ten Video Games' and 'Halo' videos. Have fun - welcome to the Voiceplay rabbit hole!
I gotta tell you... Watching you start the video as if it was no big deal, and then to see your eyes open wide as Geoff started off ridiculously low, and then drop even lower... and to hear your awestruck "Whoa!!" ... I almost fell out of my chair. But then, I knew what was coming...
@@RadioTeo thank you for reacting . I love your reactions . I'd love for you to react to voiceplays oogie boogie song or carry on my wayward son if you wouldn't mind ☺️ have a great day
Everything they do is well researched and arranged by themselves. The main difference with VoicePlay is that often they include a theatrical element. They cover everything from Disney to game themes, and all in between. In older videos you'll see a differen line up. Ceasar de la Rosa is the newest member after two previous members left. They've been giong for about 20 yrs or so and the line up has changed a couple of times.
Welcome to Voiceplay! All of their productions are masterfully done! They are vocally on point, and very often in appropriate costuming. Their bass, Geoff Castellucci, also has a fair amount of solo work out as well. I would strongly recommend you search and listen to a variety of their work - you won't be disappointed!
My favorite thing is watching someone see and hear Voiceplay for the first time. Thanx for reacting to this, I really appreciated your perspective. They just did two Broadway medleys, Wicked and the Greatest Showman. Warriors and Can't Help Falling in Love are two of my favorites. I know you'll get to Geoff's solo work, his most recent is Shenandoah, before that he did God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. He's only been doing solo work for about 18 months, since the pandemic. Welcome to the rabbit hole!!
The bass with Voice Play is Geoff (pronounced Jeff) Castalluci. He's incredible. You might want to check out some of his solo work like Blackbird and 16 Tons. More Voice Play reactions, please! You may also want to check out two more a capella groups that are uber talented--Home Free and Voctave.
VoicePlay is terrifically talented and creative a cappella group. They tend to be more theatrical in tone than the other a cappella groups- most of the members have former experience as Disney performers (the group is based in Orlando, Florida)- but that takes nothing away from their top tier vocal performances. With their background, and the amicable relationship they have with Disney, they tend to do a lot of Disney covers and medleys, but they also have more straightforward performances like Bridge Over Troubled Water, Carry On Wayward Son (this one also features Omar Cardona, the archer in this video), We're Good, Bang, and so on. One of the things that I like most about this group is their creative control over the entire process, and their willingness to take some risks the other a cappella groups don't. Either Geoff Castellucci (the bass) or Layne Stein do 99% of their arrangements (this song was arranged by Geoff), and whoever arranges the song also directs and edits the video, as well as doing the initial sound engineering before sending it to Ed Boyer for the final mix. Eli (rhymes with 'jelly'; tenor extraordinaire in the hood) Jacobson does the lighting effects. Cesar De La Rosa (the guy with the gauntlets) is the newest member, replacing J. None who left earlier this year to join the Navy (J. None himself replaced Tony Wakim about five years prior- I mention all these guys because if you go down the rabbithole, you're going to wonder who some of the people are). VoicePlay is still down one permanent member since Earl Elkin Jr. left them in 2020 (hence the featured artists), but they haven't let that slow them down at all. They're still looking for their fifth permanent member.
@@RadioTeo Sorry- was editing my reply and spewed a ton more extraneous info. I hope you continue to enjoy these guys. Oh, and definitely check out Geoff Castellucci's solo channel. He's got around a 5 octave range, and performs songs where he sings all the vocal lines in 4 or 5 part harmony. It has to be heard to be believed.
For their Disney stuff, I highly recommend their Little Mermaid medley. Geoff as Ursula is not to be missed! They often collaborate with a 5th or 6th singer, like Rachel Potter as Ariel. They made Hoist the Colors from PotC with Jose Rosario, who tours with Hamilton and went to school with Cesar, the newest VP member. Geoff started letting his hair grow long just before his son was born in April 2017. He's also been working on singing deeper. His current record is a B0 in their cover of the Halo theme. The a cappella community is a big family and often work together. Geoff sings Mr Grinch in Peter Hollens' video of Christmas Movie theme songs. Peter has sung duets like Greensleeves with Tim Foust, bass singer of Home Free, as well as with the whole HF group. Avi, former bass of Pentatonix, did Ring of Fire with Home Free, and then makes a cameo appearance in Champagne Taste (On a Beer Budget) which Tim wrote. Rob Hollens, tenor from Home Free, appears in Voiceplay's Top 10 Movie Themes. In Just Sing, Voiceplay invited many of their collaborators to join in the song that's a fundraiser for musicians out of work because of the pandemic. You also get to see Geoff and Tim sing side by side. The two groups did a video together in full makeup and costumes, Zombies vs Hillbillies - Survivor. It's a hoot.
Welcome in kind sir. The Acapella fans love Pentatonix, VoicePlay and Home Free. This group as you've seen is bit more theatrical, Home Free also has five members, a phenomenal bass and competition winning beatboxer as well as three other singers. Home Free are very down to earth, country-ish guys, though they sing other things as well. Can't go wrong no matter who you listen to, they're all that good.
The analogy of the three groups is PTX is the student council, Home Free is the cool kids you like to hang out with and Voiceplay is the Theatre department
who that bass is? well, that would be Geoff Castellucci. he has the same range as Avi from PTX and Tim from Home Free, but has a richer timbre and resonance which can make it sound as if he sings deeper. he also has a solo channel where he sings solo with light instrumentation, also worth checking out. Voiceplay currently consists of Geoff on bass, Eli on tenor (the bald guy), Layne on beatboxing and Cesar on baritone (chainmail in this video). being one member short currently they will feature other artists as the fifth person in their videos. Hoist the Colors is a nice video to react to next :-)
@@RadioTeo Avi has sung with Homefree (Ring of Fire) as well as appeared as a cameo (Champagne tastes with a beer budget). If you enjoy listening to the bases there is the Bass Gang (their song the Emperor's new clothes is amazing). Each of the members have their own channels but Tomi P is up there with Avi, Geoff and Tim Foust (Homefree's base singer and there is a video of the concert where Tim actually breaks the speakers with his voice alone)
@@danis4817 A member of that Bass Gang is the operatic bass, Peter Barber (also with a Master's in Music Theory, who moonlights as a Reactions and Analysis commentator. He teaches you a lot so you may enjoy him.
The bass is Geoff (pronounced Jeff) Castellucci. He also has his own channel of solo work. The main beatboxer is Layne Stein. He also plays a mean violin and sings. He and Geoff have about the same (5 octave) range. The one with the beard is Ceasar De La Rosa, baritone but he can get up there. The bald guy is Eli (pronounced Ellie, like jelly), high tenor but he can go pretty low. The fifth one is the featured artist Omar Cardona from Voctave (another acapella group)
It's hard to believe, but that is really Geoff Castellucci's (Jeff) actual voice. He actually hits a lower note in HALO but you can't hear it nearly as well. He did all the arranging for this one and about half the others. He also has a solo channel and does incredible work there too. If you want all bass, try Misty Mountains. Layne, the beatboxer, does the other half and a lot of the set work. Eli (Ellie) the necromancer, does most of the lighting and hits those amazing high tenor notes and can sound like a rock star. Cesar, the dark elf, is the newest member and has an incredible voice to add to the mix. That chain mail he's wearing is 20 pounds. Omar, the wood elf, is a guest star and has done two other songs with them. LOL Welcome to the VoicePlay fan club! They are known as the #TheatreKidsOfACappella because of their sets and costumes. About half of their videos are like this one, the other half are like PTX. This is a really deep rabbit hole and anything you pick to listen to will be amazing! Hoist the Colours from Pirates of the Caribbean was my favorite until this one and will also blow you away. If you listen to HALO please listen all the way to the end. There's a message after it that is a tribute to a friend and fellow gamer that passed away last year.
Happy to have you in the VoicePlay Rabbit Hole! They are my favorite group and Geoff is my favorite singer. For the group I would recommend Hoist the Colours and Carry on My Wayward Son for Geoff's solo stuff I would recommend Shenandoah, Over The Misty Mountains Cold and 16 Tons. I subscribed and can't wait to see you react to these.😁
Welcome to the Voiceplay rabbit hole! I would love to see you react to Geoff's 'Misty Mountain Cold', you were impressed by Bass singing... well, Geoff can bring it! Voiceplay are the 'theatre kids' of the acapella groups, and they don't just sing, they bring us a full production with every new release. And every new release from Voiceplay has lately been... just... so... good! You were talking about the structure of acapella groups, and it goes back to Rockapella in 1986, who set the standard for this kind of musical interpretation. You break the music down to percussion (Layne doing vocal percussion), a Bass line (Bass singing by Geoff), and then you build chords, and chords seem to reach for three note chords.. they just sound better when you have three higher singers (Eli and Ceasar, and a guest), supported by a bass singer and percussion. That having been said, Voiceplay has had a LOT of different guest singers through the years, and they always mix it up. One thing that is amazing is that they do their own arrangements. Everything you hear from them is arranged by Layne or Geoff (Check out 'We're Good' for an exception to this rule!). The quality of their arrangement is world class. Their singing is world class, their production values are world class. They have really stepped up their game lately, and I'm really looking forward to what you react to next!
OK, looks like other commenters have introduced you to Geoff. The other singers are, from left to right, Cesar De La Rosa (baritone/tenor), the amazing Omar Cardinal (featured guest-he’s worked with them in other videos), Eli (ELee) Jacobson (killer tenor), and Layne Stein (beatboxer extraordinaire). Geoff arranged this song (he and Layne take turns). Eli did the lighting which is as good as I’ve seen by people who do it professionally. They keep a lot of this stuff in house and yet put out videos that look like they hired a big production company to do it for them. Other songs you might like (someone mentioned most of the favorites on Geoff’s channel so I won’t repeat): Hoist the Colours. Halo Theme, My Mother Told Me, and come Halloween you should probably check out Oogie Boogie’s song from Nightmare Before Christmas. Great reaction, and welcome to the rabbit hole!
Welcome to the 'rollercoaster' that is VoicePlay...Once you start down their 'rabbit hole', it may take you a while to emerge from the other side. Go to their TH-cam channel, check out the volume of performances you may want to wade through......>^^
Look this group up, VoicePlay has been active for a couple of decades and are legitimate contenders for the best acapella group along with Pentatonix and Home Free. Geoff Castelluccu is the magnificent bass (has hit A0) and arranger par excellence, Layne is the beat boxer (also violinist and nice voice when he's not using it for percussion), Eli (pronounced L.E) is that incredibly high countertenor with strong voice, Caesar is fairly new to the group and lovely voice (check out Hoist the Colors). VoicePlay lost 2 singers, one to family medical issues and one to the armed service. They use featured singers to round out the 5 - in the case Omar Cardona but all are spectacular. Geoff does singles or sometimes 4 or 5 of himself when he needs backup. I found this group in October when TH-cam put a link to the video Monster Mash (one of my favorite Halloween songs). From there I listened to some more of Geoff, then his group VoicePlay. I was gobsmacked. Some of my favorites are the aforementioned HtheC, Blackbird (Geoff only), Oogie Boogie Song, Friends on the Other Side, Phantom of the Opera, My Mother Told Me, Tennessee Whiskey, Daddy Sang Bass, Halo Theme, The Man in the Mirror. Hundreds to choose from. Don't stint yourself. Geoff has worked in Universal Studios and Disney so has a fair grasp of staging and costuming.
@@bjspeck4337 Adding to your note: Geoff , Layne, and Earl (the high tenor who is no longer with them )met in middle school and performed through high school releasing their first album under a different group name in 1997 when they were still about 17 years old. Earl left in 2020 due to health complications after 23 years, and Geoff and Layne of course are still with the group going strong.
@@RadioTeo a few suggestions halo theme song (watch the whole video. there's a tribute after the song), daddy sang bass, oogie boogie song from the nightmare before Christmas, what's this and this is Halloween. last 3 songs are all from the same movie
I love the way your eyes widened at Geoff’s opening notes. It’s also impressive that they learned the game’s language to sing in. And all of Voiceplay’s work is good, though you’ll find different members through the years. Right now they’re at four steady members; Geoff (Jeff) the Bass the one with the chain mail, Cesar, their baritone the guy in the robe, Eli, (pronounced “L-E”) their tenor And Layne, the Beat Boxer. Omar was their featured singer, the elf. They have a wide variety of music, from simple “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” to theatrical, of which this is a PRIME example.
In addition to arranging, doing the video, and taking lead as director, Geoff also did costumes on this one. Eli (carrying book and scroll) did lighting, special effects, and took the lead on set design. Their vocals have been extraordinary for a long time: lately each production is more complex and professional visually. I think you'll probably also like their theme song for Halo.
@@RadioTeo he hits his lowest note so far, a Bzero. Do watch the end it is a memorial to one of their production assistants and it really tells you a lot about what kind of people they are and how close-knit they are. Just Sing is another one that shouldn’t be missed. Be sure to put the captions on. They did this one about two months into the pandemic and it was a fundraiser for musicians who were out of work. It covers a lot of the people who’ve collaborated with them in the past and it’s pretty amazing to see the quality of people that have worked with them. Several have toured with national companies for Hamilton and other big productions, and one is a three time Grammy winner. No lack of talent there!
Voiceplay are amazing they are my favourite you haven’t even scratched the surface of Geoff’s range! If you want a more country vibe also try home free they like voiceplay do serious and silly in equal measure and if you look a long way back you can find voiceplay and home free together doing zombies v hillbillies ❤️🏴
You should check out some of Malukah's Skyrim content. Her fans loved her Skyrim and Elder Scrolls Online covers so much that they successfully petitioned Bethesda to have her made a Bard in Elder Scrolls Online. (Her covers are very Bard-like) Peter Hollens also does several of Skyrim's songs with her and solo. His solo cover of this is beautiful. His cover of the Skyrim theme with violinist Lindsey Sterling is epic.
I enjoyed this so much! Subscribed, and going to go look at your earlier reactions. Others have told you, but the bass is Geoff Castellucci and VoicePlay is fan-tast-tic! They're the "theatre kids" of acappella. I especially recommend Carry On Wayward Son and Hoist the Colours.
Wow! You picked a heck of a piece to start out with. This is easily their most dramatic and probably most complex piece they’ve done. They do an amazing assortment of styles so don’t expect full costuming and total craziness on every piece. They do a lot of Disney pieces they do a lot of medleys they do a lot of pop. But they also really love the theatrical pieces. Welcome to the craziness that is VoicePlay. The language they are singing in is Dragonspeak. You can find the words and translation online. The composer Jeremy Soules came up with it for the game. I’m not a gamer, but the Dragonspeak is shouted and the shouts you hear (huh!hoh! and FUS DO RAH) are Dragonspeak that the Dragonborn can use for power. Check out the reaction by What It Do Dave for more in depth. He LOVES Skyrim and explains it so well. At one point I think he has tears in his eyes because they were so true to the spirit of the game.
Welcome to VoicePlay's world, and Geoff Castellucci's world in particular. They always deliver amazing performances, and Geoff absolutely kills it on his solo channel. You should look into some of his work. Maybe Sixteen Tons, House of the Rising Sun, or Shenandoah. You'll be completely blown away. Either way, I tend to like VoicePlay more than I like Pentatonix. Pentatonix feels too... serious with their productions. Like, they're just trying too hard to be intense. VoicePlay... they play with it and have fun, and that's just all there is to that XD Like, as killer of a performance as they give, you can just feel the fun they're having performing at that level. It makes the experience for the audience just more enjoyable and easier for us to have fun with as well.
I wanna react to both of them because they are amazing. New world of music for me because I've never heard a capella groups like this before is unreal to me.
@@RadioTeo Please don't leave out Home Free. The three groups are good friends and sometimes work together, doing production or maybe one appearing in another groups video.
The reaction of someone hearing Geoff Castellucci's bass voice for the first time (and the look of astonishment) is always fun to watch! Geoff also does solo work, where he arranges the songs (he helped arrange this one) and will film and record multiple versions of himself to provide the accompaniment and harmonies. Those videos aren't acapella, but they are well worth looking into - try Misty Mountains or Sixteen Tons.
Halo Theme. Hoist the Colors. Oogie Boogie Song. Mr. Grinch. If I Were a Rich Man/Girl. Bang. Pretty much anything they do. VoicePlay are the theatrical singers in the a cappella universe. Left to right - Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci (Cast tell oo chee) - bass with amazing range. Cesar de la Rosa - tenor/baritone. Omar Cardonna (guest performer) - high tenor. Eli (Ell lee) Jacobson - tenor with amazing range. Layne Stein - beatboxer/baritone.
The bass singer is Geoff Castellucci. He is one of the founding member from 1997 and the group usually consists of four members and a guess. Very impressive VoicePlay from Orlando, Florida!!
Congratulations on discovering Voiceplay. Try Hoist The Colours next. They also do fun, Disney stuff. They were on The Sing Off the year after Pentatonix, alongside Home Free. If you're on an acapella journey, you'll find the top 3, Pentatonix are the choir kids, Voiceplay are the theatre kids and Home Free are the cowboys in the car park. Not seen Home Free yet? Well, there's another rabbit hole for you and another stunning bass and beatboxer. Try a fun one like Hillbilly Bone and then a serious one like How Great Thou Art as suggestion of range.
The bass, Geoff Castellucci, is also a 'singer'. As you see more of their work you see just how good he is. He has a 5 octave range, and has his own solo channel, with incredible work. Voice Play is unique in the acapella world, in that they do all the own arrangements, production, etc. Incredibly talented!
Their own arrangements, production, etc. and sometime have a hand in Home Free videos too. (And Avi appears in Ring of Fire and the Tim Foust (bass) original Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget (but not in its followup Full of Cheer).
As other people have commented the bass, Geoff, also has his own channel. Voiceplay is my favorite acapella group but if you enjoy bass, I suggest also checking out The Bass Gang. And for more voiceplay they also did another great game song from Halo. Omar Cardona also did a few other songs with them. I suggest Carry On My Wayward Son from Supernatural. Voiceplay is a fun rabbit hole. Enjoy~!
Welcome to the voiceplay rabbit hole.... They are the masters of a capella. Too many great songs to name but as a game player you might like their Halo theme... They have been vikings, Disney characters, boy bands and more. 😊
Voice Play is a very theatrical acapella group. They Doo all their own editing & production. They are and amazing. The bass singer is Geoff Castellucci ( Geoff is pronounced Jeff ). The beat boxer is Layne, either he or Geoff do the arrangements to all their songs. Check out their version of Queen In 5 Minutes, Hoist the Colors from Pirates of the Caribbean just to name a few. You will be amazed at their talent. Also check out Geoff Castellucci's solo videos where he plays all 4 Geoff's in his videos. He is amazing.
#TheatreKidsOfACappella. Welcome to the rabbit hole that is VoicePlay. Geoff ( Jeff ) Castellucci is the bass and he has his own channel that he does low bass covers. This is Geoff's arrangement. There are only four members at the moment they feature other singers to make the fifth. They also did another game theme HALO.
Hey, at 4:49, they were singing in dragontongue (dragonzul) and the lyrics translate too: Dragonborn, Dragonborn, by his honour is sworn, To keep evil forever at bay. And the fiercest foes rout when they hear triumph’s shout, Dragonborn, for your blessing we pray.
Quick tip for improving and growing your channel: TH-cam takes a look at the average watch time and viewer retention your videos get and recommends them accordingly. A video that is watched all the way through is more likely to get recommended than a video that gets clicked off of at the start. The reason I say this is because I noticed you repeat a lot of the same things, basically talking about the same few points the whole time without bringing up anything new. If you would like to make sure your viewers stay watching the whole time, I would suggest thinking of different topics to talk about throughout the video (and cut out the parts where youre thinking about what to say) Not saying this to be mean at all, you just seem like a nice guy and Id like to help out your channel
@@RadioTeo yeah Ive been trying to study how the youtube algorithm works and how to make my videos perform better, so every once in a while I look at other people’s videos to see how I can help them
If you look at a capella groups, five is a very popular number. Pentatonix, Voice Play, and Home Free each have five members. Voctave, on the other hand, has 11 members and they achieve harmonies that are just unbelievable. There is a really great solo a capella artist out there--Peter Hollens. He is a master at layering and harmonizing with himself. Check out his cover of "Shenandoah". He also does work with other artist. You may want to check out Peter Hollens and Tim Foust (bass for Home Free) doing "Misty Mountain" from "The Hobbit".
I'll look Voctave up. I have really been blown away by the acapella trio I've been listening to. (Hallelujah and Mary Did You Know? by Pentatonix, anything by Geoff or VoicePlay) Is there a female group of comparable quality?
Geoff Castellucci says he's a baritone who does bass. He did this arrangement. I love Geoff's "House of the Rising Sun" video; see that one. Also VoicePlay's "Hoist the Colors" and "My Mother Told Me."
Now you need to try Home Free ( another acapella group, they won season 4 of the Sing Off when Voice Play was also on ) try Man of Constant Sorrow or End of the Road
Now that you have added Home Free you have now covered the trifecta of A Capella groups. PTX, VoicePlay and Home Free. Someone may have already made this comment: If you were to put these groups together in a school setting. You could say that PTX is the student body, VoicePlay are the theater kids and Home Free are the guys you just want to hang out with at a party. They are all unique with their own styles.
Geoff Castelucci is the bass singer, he has his own Channel on TH-cam and does some of his own productions, it's worth checking him out. He has a 5 octave range which is phenomenal for a bass singer. On his channel, Blackbird really highlights his range, but the epic one from him is Misty Mountains Cold from the movie Lord Of The Rings. Voiceplay has the benefit of Layne (the beatboxer) part owning a studio, (Pattycake Productions) and so it's easier for them to do a complete production. Set, Lighting, Costume, Make-up and each singer in the group gets into character in most of the songs, so they sing straight from the heart. They go the whole 9 yards to do all this and make it look great as well as sounding spectacular. Check out their previous one, The Greatest Showman to see how far they go to make it special. Also check out the Moana medley and The Little Mermaid Medley to see them sing while completely in character. For a good peek at Geoff's bass, the Oogie Boogie song and the Halo Theme give you an idea of Geoff's ability to make your bass speakers walk around the room, although headphones are a must for fisrt time listening.
When they break into the other language it is actually a language created for the game. The english part in the beginning is actually the translation. If you like the bass i suggest you check out "oogie boogies song' and 'Headless horseman' featuring the bass here. Another excellent base to check out is Tim Faust who is in the group Home Free.
Tim Faust is TTF the Dogpound reactor. Tim Foust is the bass singer from Home Free. Pronounced the same but off by one letter. (Home Free just dropped two videos the last two weeks: Make You Feel My Love and Unchained Melody. And they sound wonderful as usual.)
@@nightthornkvala94132 I've encountered Home Free and Tim Foust. They seem to be a little more country so not always to my taste. I like Man of Constant Sorrow and the Tim Foust/Peter Hollens Misty mountain Cold
@@DrkStorm1 Yeah, I wasn't really into country either before this group. I think a long of their songs have a country flavor because 3 out of the five have them southern accents, especially Austin, but not everything they do is that genre of music. Check out their Butts Medley/Remix and Country Fried Pop Medley. Working for a Living, Love Train, When a Man Loves a Woman, and All About That Bass are pop and soul song covers. Guilty Pleasures and Songs That Didn't Make the Cut are routines from concert tours so you man see two or three different videos of these, slightly different depending on the venue and camera distance/angle. Misty Mountains by Peter Hollens feat. Tim Foust and I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For by Peter Hollens feat. Home Free certainly are not country songs. (Note: Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold is the same song as Misty Mountains, just sung by Geoff Castallucci, bass singer from VoicePlay. Worth checking out.)
Another a cappella group you should listen to is Home Free. They have been out longer than PTX. Home Free’s bass singer can sing really low as well. Brother In Arms may be a good one to start off with.
With Voiceplay you can't go wrong. You should checkout their versions of Hoist the Colours, Carry on Wayward Son, the Oogie Boogie song. As others have said Geoff Castellucci has his own channel and does some amazing work
Top 3 acapella groups for me are Home Free, Voiceplay and Pentatonix. Right now Voiceplay is only 4 members. They're looking for a 5th. In the meantime they have featured singers to round out the sound. In this case the guy with the quiver of arrows.
I haven't seen a recommendation for If I Were a Rich Man/Girl feat. Ashley Diane. Do check that one out, it's amazing. And don't forget Warriors (Imagine Dragons). It's the only one I know of where they do play instruments.
Geoff is probably THE best bass singer ever. Check out his own channel for his solo work. But for your next Voice Play reaction, please do the Oogie Boogie Song. Be prepared for bass note heaven.
Check out some of their Disney covers (Moana medley, Little Mermaid medley [Geoff is blue!], Wicked) as well as Queen in 5 minutes, Hoist the Colors, Friends on the other side...etc All the core members plus a frequent guest, Rachel Potter, have experience doing Characters at Disney Entertainment, several at Disney World. Pentatonix and Voiceplay are two of the triad of acapella god groups, the third being Home Free that does mostly country music. Pentatonix is more pop music whereas Voiceplay is more theatrical.

Thank you for the information and for the introduction to the members. Can't wait to react to some more!!!
I gotta tell you... Watching you start the video as if it was no big deal, and then to see your eyes open wide as Geoff started off ridiculously low, and then drop even lower... and to hear your awestruck "Whoa!!" ... I almost fell out of my chair. But then, I knew what was coming...

Wow this is a dedicated group can't wait to react to some more
I love the theatricality of it all. This is my first VoicePlay. Thanks for introducing them to me. Stunning voices!
I was introduced too man let's go into this journey together. Don't worry tho PTX won't be gone!!!
Thank you for watching I will!!!
Thank you this was amazing to watch
Definitely go down the voice play rabbit hole worth the time and the followers it will draw

Thank you for watching
Seconding both Home Free and Voctave! They're all amazing.
@@RadioTeo Geoff Castellucci has his own channel too where he talks about singing so low.
@@r.d.stratford106 yes Home Free and Voctave are amazing too!
They are reallly talented I can tell. And I'm actually curios about listening to some Disney covers of theirs can't wait!!!!
@@CynicalTesuji definelty will man thank you for watching!!!
@@shirleykarr560 thank you for taking the time to type this up I appreciate it!
Legends say, at the end of all things, Geoff, Tim, and Avi will come together to sing a single bass note and wipe all of existence from the universe.
Hahahahaha😂😂😂😂
Welcome in kind sir. The Acapella fans love Pentatonix, VoicePlay and Home Free. This group as you've seen is bit more theatrical, Home Free also has five members, a phenomenal bass and competition winning beatboxer as well as three other singers. Home Free are very down to earth, country-ish guys, though they sing other things as well. Can't go wrong no matter who you listen to, they're all that good.
I'm happy to be in another a capella Journey can't wait to jump into it. Thank you for watching!
The analogy of the three groups is PTX is the student council, Home Free is the cool kids you like to hang out with and Voiceplay is the Theatre department
@@jill9837 hahaha well said
who that bass is? well, that would be Geoff Castellucci. he has the same range as Avi from PTX and Tim from Home Free, but has a richer timbre and resonance which can make it sound as if he sings deeper. he also has a solo channel where he sings solo with light instrumentation, also worth checking out.

The bass is Geoff (pronounced Jeff) Castellucci. He also has his own channel of solo work.
The main beatboxer is Layne Stein. He also plays a mean violin and sings. He and Geoff have about the same (5 octave) range.
The one with the beard is Ceasar De La Rosa, baritone but he can get up there.
The bald guy is Eli (pronounced Ellie, like jelly), high tenor but he can go pretty low.
The fifth one is the featured artist Omar Cardona from Voctave (another acapella group)
Thank you for the introduction to Voiceplay and thank you for watching!!!
Just a little correction. Omar isn't in voctave, it's his brother EJ. Who also did a collaboration with VP (Go the Distance)
@@cricketr4320 Must have gotten them mixed up.

Thank you for this comment. Voiceplay reaction is coming soon!
Thank for watching and for the information about this group!!!
Omar's last name is Cardona.
Welcome to the 'rollercoaster' that is VoicePlay...Once you start down their 'rabbit hole', it may take you a while to emerge from the other side. Go to their TH-cam channel, check out the volume of performances you may want to wade through......>^^
Thank you man can't wait to get it going!!!
Thank you for this comment they are dedicated and experienced I love it can't wait for some more!

I love the way your eyes widened at Geoff’s opening notes. It’s also impressive that they learned the game’s language to sing in. And all of Voiceplay’s work is good, though you’ll find different members through the years. Right now they’re at four steady members;
Geoff (Jeff) the Bass
the one with the chain mail, Cesar, their baritone
the guy in the robe, Eli, (pronounced “L-E”) their tenor
And Layne, the Beat Boxer.

Quick tip for improving and growing your channel:
TH-cam takes a look at the average watch time and viewer retention your videos get and recommends them accordingly. A video that is watched all the way through is more likely to get recommended than a video that gets clicked off of at the start.
The reason I say this is because I noticed you repeat a lot of the same things, basically talking about the same few points the whole time without bringing up anything new. If you would like to make sure your viewers stay watching the whole time, I would suggest thinking of different topics to talk about throughout the video (and cut out the parts where youre thinking about what to say)
Not saying this to be mean at all, you just seem like a nice guy and Id like to help out your channel

I'll look Voctave up. I have really been blown away by the acapella trio I've been listening to. (Hallelujah and Mary Did You Know? by Pentatonix, anything by Geoff or VoicePlay) Is there a female group of comparable quality?
@@bjspeck4337 Hallelujah is amazing still haven't reacted to Mary did you know
Geoff Castellucci says he's a baritone who does bass. He did this arrangement. I love Geoff's "House of the Rising Sun" video; see that one. Also VoicePlay's "Hoist the Colors" and "My Mother Told Me."
I will check those out soon
They were singing in the dragon language. Check out their nightmare before Christmas cover.
Gotta check that for sure
Now you need to try Home Free ( another acapella group, they won season 4 of the Sing Off when Voice Play was also on ) try Man of Constant Sorrow or End of the Road
gotta try it for sure
Good old geoff foghorn castellucci with his dragonborn bass boom
I was stunned by this
Now that you have added Home Free you have now covered the trifecta of A Capella groups. PTX, VoicePlay and Home Free. Someone may have already made this comment: If you were to put these groups together in a school setting. You could say that PTX is the student body, VoicePlay are the theater kids and Home Free are the guys you just want to hang out with at a party. They are all unique with their own styles.
Hahshah never heard that before hahaha
Voiceplay are not new. They've been together for over 9 years. They are so much better than any other similar style group.
they were new to me at the time
Stay voice play I rec my mother told me. A Viking shanty and Geoff the bass solo songs headless horseman I recommend keep up the good work
Thank you for watching
I reacted to the Halo theme also earlier today it was amazing. Jeff us is the beast man
This guy is Geoff ( Jeff ) Castellucci & the best out of all the groups.
He might have the best bass is crqzy
When they break into the other language it is actually a language created for the game. The english part in the beginning is actually the translation. If you like the bass i suggest you check out "oogie boogies song' and 'Headless horseman' featuring the bass here. Another excellent base to check out is Tim Faust who is in the group Home Free.
I'm definelty checking those out!!!!
Definelty will start the Home Free series soon
With Voiceplay you can't go wrong. You should checkout their versions of Hoist the Colours, Carry on Wayward Son, the Oogie Boogie song. As others have said Geoff Castellucci has his own channel and does some amazing work
Definelty will check this out
Top 3 acapella groups for me are Home Free, Voiceplay and Pentatonix.
Right now Voiceplay is only 4 members. They're looking for a 5th. In the meantime they have featured singers to round out the sound. In this case the guy with the quiver of arrows.
I see well I hope they find their 5th
Home Free is another great a capella group...
Gotta check them out too!!!
May I suggest you react to Hoist the colors by Voiceplay?
Suggest anything you want to see!!!!
@@RadioTeo Awesome! I really think you would enjoy that one 😁
Hoist the Colors! Must review!
I have checked that already
Check out Home Free as well. They have a country feel.
Home Free is VoicePlay song or another group?
Another group with another insane bass
@@superfamily3330 I see will check it then
I haven't seen a recommendation for If I Were a Rich Man/Girl feat. Ashley Diane. Do check that one out, it's amazing. And don't forget Warriors (Imagine Dragons). It's the only one I know of where they do play instruments.
Gotta check it
Bass singers are my favorite.
Same here
Geoff is probably THE best bass singer ever. Check out his own channel for his solo work. But for your next Voice Play reaction, please do the Oogie Boogie Song. Be prepared for bass note heaven.
I def will
You need to check out Home free - ring of fire (ft Avi Kaplan) also awsome
Gotta check that soon
Check out some of their Disney covers (Moana medley, Little Mermaid medley [Geoff is blue!], Wicked) as well as Queen in 5 minutes, Hoist the Colors, Friends on the other side...etc
All the core members plus a frequent guest, Rachel Potter, have experience doing Characters at Disney Entertainment, several at Disney World. Pentatonix and Voiceplay are two of the triad of acapella god groups, the third being Home Free that does mostly country music. Pentatonix is more pop music whereas Voiceplay is more theatrical.
Definelty will
What you heard was Dovahzuul or Dragon Tongue the language of dragons from the Elder Scrolls
Dovahkiin, Dovahkiin
Naal ok zin los vahriin
Wah dein vokul mahfaeraak ahst vaal!
Ahrk fin norok paal graan
Fod nust hon zindro zaan
Dovahkiin, fah hin kogaan mu draal!
It translates to:
Dragonborn, Dragonborn1
by his honor is sworn
To keep evil forever at bay!
And the fiercest foes rout
when they hear triumph's shout,
Dragonborn, for your blessing we pray!
Thanks for the info
@@RadioTeo no prob.
If you want to hear the full song I recommend Peter Hollens video. He has the Dova lyrics on screen and with the English captions giving the full translation
The opening song for Skyrim is iconic!
Great video btw
You should check out Home Free too. Their beatboxer can do an amazing harmonica. See Man of Constant Sorrows.
I already did I'm reacting to the big three PTX,VP,HF feel free to check my other videos at any time
Very good reaction, but time for the nerd in me to come out, the other language you heard is Dragonzul. or the language of the dragons in the game. the first verse of the dragon language translate to::
Dovahkiin, Dovahkiin
Naal ok zin los vahriin
Wah dein vokul mahfaeraak ahst vaal
Ahrk fin norok paal graan
Fod nust hon zindro zaan
Dovahkiin, fah hin kogaan mu draal

Dragonborn, Dragonborn
by his honor is sworn
To keep evil forever at bay!
And the fiercest foes rout
when they hear triumph's shout,
Dragonborn, for your blessing we pray!
Thank you for this!!!!!
Check out Voiceplay with my mother told me and hoist the colors!

Can't wait for this one hahaha!!!!
"I don't know what they're saying but.."
You don't know the made up language? This is like someone watching Star Trek first time and not understanding Klingon.
😂😂😂
Well, Pentatonix and Home Free are much better than Voice Play.
Hahaha well I'm definitely intrigued with this group too but don't worry I ain't stopping with PTX
