You have no idea what a BREATH OF FRESH AIR you both are to so many. GA/AL border here. Like the no politics, happy attitude and positive at all angles. Thank you.
Thank you Jason and Brooke. I am so excited because I have packages arriving to my house from my mom for Christmas and I know its full of Cog Hill Farm goodies!!! I just sent my mom back some simplymakingit Goat Soap! :) You'all have changed my life for the more joyful and better. Thank you for your love and your spirits. My time with you on these videos is my bit of heaven on earth.
Funny joke about Piggly Wiggly. I grew up in South TX with Piggly Wiggly grocery stores. Then, a new family-run grocery store chain sprung up called HEB (founder's initials; Howard E. Butt). The joke was HEB bought out Piggly Wiggly...what was the new store called...Wiggly Butt!!! 🤣🤣🤣
We got a bunch of different used stuff because dad worked at city dump. It was always nice when he took me with him. I found a metal doll house in great shape.
I have a Raggedy Ann that my mom made for me and my baby sister. I still have it now and I'm so glad I do . We lost my mom a couple months ago and when I see it all these wonderful memories come flooding back. She was so crafty an avid sewer, knitter, crocheter and needlepoint. I remember just sitting and watching her create these beautiful things.
I'm in Phoenix, AZ low this morning was 47 High was 76 on Wed 12/4. We just paid $9.99 for 5 dozen cage-free at Sam's Club so we got a total of 10 dozen. They have a limit of 2 boxes per customer. My daddy worked at Piggly Wiggly when he was in high school in Waterloo, Iowa about 80 years ago. TFS! Blessings to you my friend. Have a blessed week. ✝🙏🏼💕
@16:10...BROOKE...!!!😂😂😂 I almost spit out my hot chocolate! What a belly laugh!!! Thanks, Brooke... A good laugh ALWAYS makes a person a little bit lighter...😁💜
🎄 I loved hearing about your childhood toys. Laughing because I could picture every toy. I am 72 and I remember getting a Chatty Cathy doll for Christmas. I loved my baby dolls, they had a unique smell. I had snuck downstairs and “sniffed” the presents. I found her and pulled the string to make her talk ~ not a smart thing to do at 2 am. My Dad yelled at me to GET BACK TO BED! My Mom came to my rescue and allowed me to bring her to my bed BUT I had to keep her quiet 🤫 😂. I loved my Spirograph too…. Colorforms was another favorite. Thanks for reminiscing…put a smile on my face. 🎄
That was THE BEST live that I've ever watched y'all do!! I've been watching every episode since the day that Jessie came to the farm from AFH, but that live was SO fun! I'm 58, and loved remembering all the toys and games. I mean, who could forget the excitement of PONG?! Sending love from KY...thanks for the memories!!
I really really liked your video/podcast today. Reminiscing Christmas past and the good ol’ toys. Was so much fun. And Jason’s laughing made my day. You all are such good people.
Just wait until winter sets in in Arizona. I was a snowbird who went to Arizona for winters for 30+ years. In fact this is our first winter home & enjoying it. Winter in Arizona can be very cold. We’ve even had snow there but it does not stay. It gets cold, rainy, windy that chill you to the bones. It still was warmer than where I live in Canada & I’m going to miss it.😊
Hope you see this. Jason, your kids' video was amazing. It is great for the kids to learn about the farm animals. You are inspiring a whole new generation.❤
I'm many years older than you and Brooke but I do remember getting many of these toys for my children who are about your age. Fun trip down memory lane. Terrific live...thank you!🤗
The best thing t remember about the Piggly Wiggly we shopped at when I was growing up was the green stamps! Mama would let me help chose what we were going to redeem the stamps for. Of course it was my job to tick the stamps in the book!
Watching replay. Love 5:56 y'all and been a constant watcher for a few years now. Yall were still down at the first Cog Hill Farm, and Mary Carl was just a little whipper snapper. Im on the weather struggle bus, from way down in the southwest corner of New Mexico, been in the mid 60s to low 70s here. Similar to AZ. Little town called TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES..no kidding..cant make this stuff up. Just wanted to say Hi..usually dont comment much..but God Bless y'all ❤
Oh my, but this was a fun one! I had Creepy Crawlers, Tinker Toys, Breyer Horses, Cooties, a Tonka dump truck, stick horses (about one a year), a sock monkey,
At one time there were Piggly Wiggly stores in Canada. In 1935, all 179 Canadian Piggly Wiggly were also sold to the Canadian Safeway division, which merged with Sobeys in 2013.
My friend’s son came for Thanksgiving from New York to California. They thought he had food poisoning and he went to the emergency room because he was so sick. It spread to everyone around them and they are all really sick. They had the stomach flu. Emergency gave him IV, morphine, anti nausea medication
Thank you for an enjoyable hour. My jaw hurts from smiling so much! Your stories about older toys/games really took me back to fun memories. I love the connection between you two. Thank you for all the work you put into these videos. God bless you! Vickie from WA state where it was 29 degrees last night
Yes . Simon . The perfection was tiny lil yellow shapes &a timer !😊there was 8 kids all varied ages so we did get a big variety of toys !! They do still make easy bake ovens !
Hi from western North Carolina. Please pray for the people affected by Helene. Many people still do not have shelter and it is cold. Had snow in many areas last night.
My daughter graduated high school in 1981. She had to have one of those fancy calculators. Not sure why. But she had a part time job. I was a single mom of 5. I think hers was a Texas Instrument.
Western Oklahoma had a Piggly Wiggly's back in the 80's and 90's, I worked there keeping the floors swept and helping people carry there groceries to there car..
When I moved to the Philippines fifteen years ago, I gave "no snow" as one of the reasons why I wanted to move. They asked, "What will you do if it snows there?" I answered, "I will be laughing at you because you will be under 1,000 feet of ice in the US." Here on Cebu, it is in the 70's every night and in the 80's every day. Eggs are about $3.20 USD per dozen here on Cebu.
I remember sliding down hills in the snow as a child with toboggans or a steering wheel sled. Or see who could jump the longest with ski. All the kids in the neighborhood had the most fun in the wintertime.
Spokane, WASHINGTON got up to a high of 34 degrees, a low of 25 to30 tonight? ❤ I finally got enough coat layers on today to be mostly comfortable. Prayers for health and safety!🙏❤️🙏
I caught a wild river rock and tamed it. I loved my pet rock! LoL Rockem Sockem Robots ad said, "You knocked my block off!" LMAO I got a pony and cowboy outfit in 1968. I don't know how Santa managed THAT! I loved my Dancerina dancing ballerina doll!
I'm 73. When I was a kid we had a Piggly Wiggly in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. They've been gone a long, long time but I remember Mom taking us there for groceries for many years. :)
Red light therapy for any pain and immunity issues. LUME Box is amazing. Just got one 1/2 off for my 50th from my family!!! If you could avoid cortisone shots, you should. Temporary relief with long term side effects and make your joint worse as you age. I know I have had 4, 2 in each shoulder. Prayers for health and healing. Try the Lume Box♥️
Where I live in Western Australia I pay up to $10 a dozen. However, I prefer to pay that for eggs than crap food. My son will come home from school crack an egg mix it up a bit then put it in the Jaffle maker (sometimes with bread so it becomes an egg sandwich) and puts some grated cheese ontop. Sometimes he adds diced bacon or ham as well. Much better than a bag of chips.
I also remember driving through Arizona in many feet of snow. Through flagstaff the icicles hanging off buildings were as big around as a man. This was Dec 1967. 2 or 3 years we went to Holbrook, Az in January and the heater went out in the car, my mother in law told me the next day that my lips had been blue. 😳😱🥶
Hi Jason and Brooke I loved going down memory lane with y'all Jason the game that you are talking about with The mouse and the marble is called The mousetrap it came out in 1963 I do believe and you can still buy it today. Catch you on the next one❤❤❤❤
My father in law got stung by a honey bee and he said it helped with the pain in his elbow he also used WD-40 rubbed in and said that helped ease the pain
My neighbor sells her organic free range eggs for 8 dollars a dozen and has for years and has a waiting list for her eggs, I watch her animals while she is on Vacation and she pays me in eggs for helping her. I would do it for free but I appreciate the farm raised eggs
@@jbs454 unbelievable we have a free ranch flock of beautiful hens, we feed 22 percent protein and crack corn, they are on 2 acres to hunt and peck on. We sell our beautiful eggs for 2.50 a doz.
I know i am rewatching this but you all are the same age as my son and the toys you are remembering are the toys i bought for him . he also had the TI99 4A
Feed last winter went way up to almost $30 A 40 back pound Bag of 18% layers pellets$30 a bag for chicken scratch$26 a bag for rabbit feed 17% I think they're 30 to 40 pound bags it was cost to me over $200 a month to feed 14 chickens and maybe 20 rabbits and hey was $35 a bail 50 Pounder and that was for Timothy Hay and it was really crappy Timothy Hay chickens wouldn't even eat it was mostly all stem right now it is$15 for a second cut hey that's what I like rabbits eat it and the chickens will even eat it but that's gone down in price it was way higher than that last year
You asking about Christmas presents reminded me about my poor sons 5th Christmas. He wanted a Tomahawk Chopper bike (not sure if they are called that in the US) and come Christmas morning not much enthusiasm. So over to visit his granny and he kept grizzling. So of course granny said let him stay with us for the night. Well anyway long story short poor boy had Mumps. So, much to his delight, he ended up in granny's for the holidays. We live outside the village and they were in the middle of everything, close to his friends so he had a great time when the worst was over. x
I caught the latter part of the live. Now I’m watching what I missed. I remember visiting my daughter and grands in New Port Richey, FL, just north of Tampa in January one year and the temp was in the 20’s. Brr.. I told her I could have stayed home in Oregon for that. But she and the kids weren’t there.
My grandmother raised bees, and naturally got stung from time to time. She said she would put some honey on the sting, and that helped. Natural antibiotic in honey.
Watched your live and got a call towards the end, so just watching again!! Just thinking how people are going to need eggs for baking during the holidays!! Too funny, Brooke got Lester!! I think we had pretty cool presents, not a lot. Remember the wood logs to build cabins/houses. Tonka trucks were all metal and rubber tires!! First Atari with pingpong!! Wasn't there a rockin sockem boxer game? I loved the old light Brite! Operation was fun too, you would think we were really doing surgery! Did you have pick up sticks? Remember Simon says too! What about those hockey games. They had puppets, dog on a stick. Battle ship was great. Now, kids want Lego sets and technology, phones, high price! It use to be fun to actually go shopping! My kids loved their big wheels! Brooke was being hot wheel momma, Lol! What were those fancy foot scooters? So much fun stuff, kept us busy!!
Pleasant day here in Mesa Az. The dry heat is easier to do with summer temps. But low humidity causes for dry skin and not that dewy southern belle complexion. 😊
OMG, reminiscing about the old school toys! So many mentioned that I had forgotten about. We used to have die-cast cap guns (revolver style) and my sister & I would play Charlie's Angels with the other girls in the neighborhood, posing like the silhouette from the TV show and pretending to talk to Charlie, fighting over who got to play Jill (Farrah Fawcett). No one would get away with playing with toy guns today...EEK!! Wow, major memory unlocked.

We got a bunch of different used stuff because dad worked at city dump. It was always nice when he took me with him. I found a metal doll house in great shape.
Everywhere I turn I hear about how bad the bird flu is right now and I have been in almost constant prayer for protection of the animals at Cog Hill.
