Friends just make sure you always check what dishes or any item you find and make sure it isn't something that is worth a lot if money or that is really old... Thats if anyone cares.. I have found some really cool stuff. Then again I collect so much, thank goodness i have a shed, attic and basement.
Seriously one of the best “Crafty” videos I’ve seen in a very long while. Especially, the “Mosaic Teacup Planter”! It’s absolutely stunning! I have dozens of old and antique tea cups and saucers... You can find a lot of beautiful plates and dishes at any Thrift shop

I have crafted with vintage plates in the garden but only with imperfect ones as some have value selling online if in good shape.
Love the mosaic tea cups and using it as a planter...and there was a few others I liked...
I cringed when I saw the destruction of those beautiful cups and plates.

I used to put my extra pot saucers in the edge of the yard along the road, like you did with the plates, just to keep the soil from eroding on to the curb. I used to get compliments.

If I put anything cute next to my road, it would be gone in the morning..I live on an old dirt rode and folks think if it's near the road it fair game.
@@joanwallace1373 That is frustrating. We live on a thru street so I've had quite a few bicycles stolen, but the pot saucers- I broke them in half and used the sharp flat end to poke in the dirt; and they would have been useless for anyone to steal.

My great granddaughter would love the sunflower glass. Sunflowers are her faviorite flower. I made her a three piece journal set a couple of years ago for her birthday that Washington full of sunflowers. She loved it !!

Another great video from Hometalk. After reading a few comments, it looks like there’s a bunch of hoarders out there that think it’s terrible to break up dishes even if they are unusable. I don’t understand why they watch these if it bothers them to do it.🙃 Great ideas, keep them coming. 😊
Why were the dishes and cups 'unusable? You don't have to be a hoarder to be reluctant to smash a delicate, beautiful cup or plate. Why not donate to Goodwill or another nonprofit?
Ya because if I went to Goodwill I would only buy them to make that AWESOME DIY she did

These were all so good! Very creative and fun. I was surprised how much I loved the watermelon. And like others said, I was shocked at first when she smashed the teacups but it was so beautifully done. Bravo 👏👏👏

I really appreciate how many different ideas were introduced in such a short video. But I do wish they had displayed the actual products used to make the crafts such as the different types of adhesives and clear coatings, the glass paints, and the weather proofing products…

I totally agree… and you said it much more succinctly than I did. Also I really don’t think many ppl (including myself) will take the time to search for the info which is a shame bc they really do have some good ideas.

you need to apply food safe sealer on decals put onto utensils or decal will come of with your gravy

You don't want to be eating or drinking off of any of these! Almost every one of these ideas is NOT food safe.
Yes they can be. If you bake the color pieces or use the dishwasher safe Mod Podge, all are safe to eat on. If you use a clear piece of dish-ware, do it on the back. I have several sets of dishes that I have designed for different occasions without any problems. However, my guests died after they ate on them. I’m just kidding. If you use a sealer, make sure that sealer is FOOD SAFE because most of them are not. Good luck and I hope this helps.

The glue in the packaging says "Fix-All" and she also had a tub of melted Hot glue stix.

Did a great job with those plates doing so many different challenges I think I like the border and the fire pit the best the mirrors are super cute too and of course the plate with the wreath was really Something different I’ve never seen before
I find it intriguing that Dollar Tree stores in areas other than mine have such great stuff to work with. The ones within a 5 mile radius of my home have nothing like the items I see being used in DIY tips, decorating tips or the monthly featured what's to buy this month. Actually 2 of the nearby stores always look like a tornado when through them every time I go in and then I just leave its so filthy and disheveled I don't want to shop there the others just have the same old same old week after week. But, I still like watching the vids to get ideas just have to shop harder to find interesting stuff. By the way I live in the 6 largest city in the US. So sad the sotres near me suck.
I watch haul videos of the UK equivalent Poundland, and I feel exactly the same, there is never the really good stuff in mine.
I was thinking ‘oh she lives by me’ until you said 6th largest city. Mine is filthy and complete junk too.

It looks like they used Mod Podge. I don’t see why you couldn’t use any acrylic sealer.
They make a Mod Podge that is dishwasher safe. Just be sure to let it cure according to the instructions. I went longer than it says to do because I wanted that extra time just to be sure it would I wouldn’t loose my design when washing and it really does work.
You really have a huge gift.
