I’m 17 and gonna be joining the Marine Corps. I’ve been through some boot camp events basically like mini basic training. It was in the summer and lasted 4 days but I did it 4 times and they had a Marine Drill instructor there for morning PT. We ran a lot and a lot of pickups and sit ups and carrying telephone poles and all of that kinda stuff. The drill instructor was a scary dude haha he yelled in our faces and screamed at us and we never could do anything right even tho we thought we were doing good. During the day we had constant physical work. Miles and miles of walking with telephone poles and sand bags. Lost of running and all that hood stuff. So point is I have a small idea of what imma be going through... I know it’s just a small one. Lol just earlier this Army recruiter tried talking to me but I was really respectful to him about it that I’m joining the Marine Corps

You're going to get a 2 minute haircut .🤣 . Get in the best shape possible . . Strength training and running is very important .. In the end . You will be handed an eagle globe and anchor.. At that moment.. YOU earned the title of a United States Marine.. This cannot be bought. .For no amount of money . It is not given. ITS. Only earned .God bless you.

Excellent advice. This is true all through life, though. I will tell you the worst I was ever treated, and the worst job I ever had was in the civilian world, not in the Marines. I got treated pretty bad as a non-rate too. Damn, every crappy job there was I did. I knew my place; I was the junior Marine. I would be catching all the dirty jobs. That only lasted for 6 months or so. I only served on mess duty once, too, for 15 days. Back then, everyone went on mess duty, sometimes a few times in a year and for 30 days at a time. I made sure they thought I was needed to do something other than doing mess duty, which is a lot easier than you would think; you just have to care about what you are doing and do a good job at it.

I deployed to Korea 5 or 6 times. It gets that cold there. We could not drink very much before sleeping, or we would piss all over ourselves in our sleep it was so cold. Then it gets hotter than hell in the summer as well. But Korea is good training and one of the few counties that liked Marines and America when I was in. We did a USO tour to Seoul in between training ops. People stopped in the middle of an 8 lane road in the city and thanked us for being in Korea. The PI and Tinian liked Marines also. Korean people are really good people!
ROK Marines are some really tough bastards too. They celebrated the Marine Corps birthday with us on a beach. I'd have to look the name up. Damn it was cold as hell that night! We traded uniforms, had birthday cake, and drank Soju together. Soju is like vodka. The next morning we were humpin fools. Then went through the mountain warfare school.

Think you had it bad? We did a 5 mile boot & ute battalion run because the Lt. Col. Was leaving. I was sick as fuck. I had to blow chunks so bad. We were running and we passed a row of porta-johns by the parade ground. I requested permission to fall out and shit. My platoon Sgt. Said "denied." Once the run was done we formed up again. I asked permission to fall out again. Permission was not granted. I was forced to take a shit at the position of attention as the Battalion Commander was giving a speech. As if that wasn't bad enough, we marched back to the barracks with that shit stuck in the blousing of my boots. Try living with that in the fleet for another 3 years.

Would I do it again?, hell yeah, because the Marines are the best. When I look back, I say to myself, "did I do that"? It's call ENDURANCE. You will always cherish those moments. Boot camp is so mapped out you do not even notice you are gaining a lot of weight or losing it. You see, you are always hungry no matter how much you eat. You are constantly tired no matter how much you get to sleep, also. Usually, lights out, and you are asleep in 5minutes, then it seems like 5 minutes later you are awake again. It would be wise to work on running before you go to boot camp, though. Work on everything you can before you go, and if you know you have a weakness, really dig into it before boot camp, it will pay off for you a great deal. Male Marines run a lot. We were always running somewhere when we were not drilling.

Hey I noticed in one of your videos you said if you could do it over, you'd choose the Airforce. I hear that a lot from people in other branches and Im wondering why that is. I've been thinking either Marines or Airforce to go to in 2024 and in the end my final goal is to learn how to fly a Jet. Its been my dream. But I want to join the Marines as well because I feel like it would break me down and build up a mentally and physically stronger person. I mean Marines bootcamp looks much more grueling than Airforce Academy haha but in the end I feel like that would be a better outcome. I'm just wondering what your opinion is on joining either the Marines or Airforce?

At this point I think he’s just trying to deter everyone from joining because he had a really bad experience, he pretty much told a story on how his higher ups were out to get him because he was making vídeos about the marine corps while enlisted. So this seems to be his revenge. I mean I’m sure the Marine corps has Its crappy moments but at the same time you knew what you were getting into especially active service. If you want to join but are unsure whether you want to fully commit join the reserves and you have the option to go active if you have a good experience.

    • @tonyperez8066

if anyone could offer some advice i would really appreciate it. i’m supposed to leave for boot camp june 14th but the only contract available for me is an msg contract but i really wanted to go infantry but the next infantry contract available is in september but i max pad for the dep in july and if i don’t go in june i’ll get discharged and i’ll have to talk with the recruiting co and sgt maj if i want to get back in. idk if i should go for it and take the chance of not becoming a marine so i can get the job i want or suck it up and take the job that’s available. it’s such a hard decision and i just don’t know what to do because i would give anything to become a marine but idk if it’s worth doing a job i don’t want for the next 5 years. if anyone could comment and help me out or give advice i would really appreciate it.

@@KaidenAT Listen, this is generally true, not always though, just like everything in the military. I knew Marines who went to school for one mos and never worked in it. I knew Marines that filled some need and got the best duty and promotions a Marine could ever ask for. Sometimes things do not work out the way they are supposed to. One way to get what you want is to be rated as the best in your class and or unit, then you have a much better chance of getting what you want. You also have to be a little realistic. You're not going to get stationed where you're mos isn't needed, or there is a small number of Marines there, then your chances are much less than if there were a lot of your most there.
