I saw a tv show where several barrels were used. Two were left intact and were attached by a scribed piece of timber about two - three inches thick and was screwed to the barrels. This formed a bar for a recreational area of a room. Two other barrels were disassembled, the staves were dipped in a long tub of poly to seal the aroma apparently and then were brad nailed to the barter and to a piece of lumber like a 2 by 2 attached to the barrel bottoms. It was extremely handsome when done. I think some shelves were installed below the barter somehow. Other staves were used on a staircase banister. Beautiful work. If you have more barrels still in one piece you could break ground on another new project. Only 3 or 4 million people watched that show in the USA so you could be first in Western Canada. :)

I just came about your channel today and subbed. The 3d coffee table build fascinated me, and also made me contemplate the outrageous amount of work that goes into building something like that. not to mention the creativity and imagination. You need to believe that you are a woodworker...because you are. We never perfect our craft, we just get better and more experienced, and that's the way it should be. I'm a career carpenter of 40plus years now, and I'm 58 yrs old, been doing it my whole life, raised up in the business as my father was a contractor and I went to work with him even as a 10yr old kid. I'm just now getting into building furniture after all these years. Your young, stick to your passion,,,you'll be amazed 5 yrs down the road when you look back and see what you accomplished. Just keep plugging along. I can't even imagine what you can build with a crooked barrel stave...personally, I'd just burn them, but that's because I don't have your vision. You'll find your niche.

I saw those barrel ends and thought tables, bar tops, stools, round cutting boards,…the list goes on. I wish I lived close enough that I could pop n for a day and help with some of your needed organization. Alas I live in central Arkansas which is truly close to nothing.

If you are looking at making another table you should look at making A gaming D&D table. A lot of people like myself Is looking for people to make them a nice table with A TV or a oh drop in the middle apartment for Dungeon maps to put in too. I know I would love to see your outlook and view on making a good gaming table. So far your craftsmanship is amazing I love seeing all the details that you put into your woodcraft

Keep it up Ryan. I foresee big things in your future. Love watching your content and how you progress with everything. I have built a table with soft pallet wood lately myself. Not as involved as your work, so I can appreciate the sweat you put into yours. Cheers brother! I’ll be waiting to see your next video.

Can't wait for next week's video gonna really help me as this is kinda similar thing to what am trying to start. Granted a don't have the shop space or all the equipment or all the wood u do but am working on it but can't wait see what your thinking. Another thing for u incase you hadn't looked at it with the staves over here anyway clocks are really popular with the barrel staves. Just a thought. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍

I would love to get some used wine barrels. I’m in Southern California and it seems nobody wants to part with them for less than $100 each. I can’t even find anyone that will part with pallets, and hardwood costs a fortune, and I don’t have a hardwood dealer near me. Yeah, I know, I sound pathetic.
I’m an older beginner woodworker, and disabled so can’t spend much on wood, so not sure what to do. You can only build so much with pine. There are so many people making the same products, so thats another problem I face. What sells that everyone isn’t making? Getting into woodworking is a bit more challenging than I thought, but I enjoy it so hopefully I’ll figure things out. Yep, still pathetic!
I’ve enjoyed watching you and look forward to seeing what you have planned for the future! Best of luck to you on your builds and channel.

Ok dude first you don't sound pathetic the fact that your trying to do it that's big plus in my book especially in the current climate of the world and being disabled I tip my hat to u. I have similar problems here in Scotland big companies know the value of wood and wanna charge u through the nose tor it. I am 32 no joinery skills but am trying set this kinda thing Like Ryan's doing up aswell on limited money can't put much into it an also on limited space ie right now working out my back garden and garden shed with very limited space and machinery and having do it once kids are in bed at night or when I have time during day. I have 3 young kids 2 of which are believed to be autistic so trying find the balance between doing this and being with them isn't easy. Pine pallets are all I find here in Scotland we try use whisky barrels but again people don't want let them go cheap. And I will never ever ever get the prices of boards that America and Canada makers can sell things at over here. One thing I've found especially recently is eBay is great place to find off cuts of hardwood exotics or even look for blanks you can glue together makes it cheaper or FB market place seems be a good one aswell. Keep plugging along though dude you'll get there. So yea me (pathetic)🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍

@@michaelwillson6847 Thank you sir! I appreciate your comments. I can certainly understand your challenge finding time to work on projects, and the limited space to do it. It’s difficult to find time to work on anything when kids are awake, especially woodworking as they’ll want to be out helping dad. I’ve collected tools over the years, and now only buy a tool if I need it for a project, and even then, I try not to buy it unless I know I’ll continue to need it on future projects. The problem is that most power tools aren’t cheap! Thank you for your suggestions on potential sources for wood! I wish you the best on your wood creations. With so much negative stuff going on around the globe, and the challenges we all face everyday, It’s nice to get away and lose yourself making something, if only for a little time at night.
