I'm so glad that you were able to get the diamond pattern in the finished product. This was so interesting to watch. The pendant turned out to be incredibly detailed and beautiful.

I’m just wondering why not take the silver clay fill the two house and then paste them together when they’re still in the silicone let it dry completely in the silicone and they’d be connected already. Just wondering out loud.

Great video! Just occurred to me while watching, would cutting away some of the extra Silicone on the outside of the mold near the trail end make that end of the mold more flexible so the tail is easier to demold? What a cute seahorse! Your silver replica looks amazing 😍👍🏼

@@jamaicanapple Good question, and perhaps, but thin areas in molds have their own issues, like they can stretch to accommodate more clay than they should while filling. That’s a fine place to experiment! But after doing so myself with this kind of silicone material, I prefer a mold of this thickness + slow, slightly awkward removal :)

@@BlueDotJewelry Agree, there's a fine balance 👍🏼 silver clay takes a really gentle touch. Your editing is great too, making a tutorial video is a lot of work 😊 thank you for sharing. This gives me inspiration to take on some more delicate projects 😃

Wow that is incredibly beautiful and such an honour to a delicate creature. Is the bale made from wire or snake clay that you shaped into that spot?

@@designbyeloine Thank you! The bail is also silver clay, but wire would’ve worked, too.

Just wondering out loud. That’s so delicate. Do you think a syringe with paste in it might help as well. I think you have to have small fingers.

@@catherinemartina6469 This is a great question and I hope I can explain it clearly, but basically, when molding an item that’s a little complicated like this, it was most important that the edges came together cleanly and I wouldn’t really be able to see what I was doing or refine on the minute level that I would want to until it was too late. If it was a simple object like a sphere I might do it that way, but I needed every ridge in the back of the seahorse to align on the other side, for example, and it would be taking too big a risk that they would be misaligned.
