    I have a 4070 ti super and I feel like that its more than good enough for 4k on ultra settings
    Every single game from last gen consoles play native in ultra settings with 120+ FPS
    And for the newer current gen games I still get 70-90+ FPS at least on ultra settings and DLSS on quality
    Even Alan Wake 2 which has to be the hardest to run game on its Highest setting, 4K with DLSS ultra I get near 70FPS on average and that's without frame Gen.
    The Last of Us Part 1 on ultra settings with DLSS quality I get over 80 FPS which is another really demanding current gen game
    Resident Evil 4 remake on its highest settings with RT on native 4k I get around 80FPS
    Dead Space Remake on its highest settings on 4k DLSS quality I get over 90FPS
    Ratchet and Clank a rift apart on its highest setttings on 4K DLSS ultra I get almost 100 FPS
    then on competitive FPS like Fortnite and Warzone with not the greatest settings because I want more frames in those type of games I still get over 120fps in 4k DLSS Quality, over 150 actually
    and in Apex Legends I get over 160 native 4K at its highest settings
    so yeah I don't think as a 4k gamer like you said you'll always be stuck buying a $1,500-$2000 card.
    the $800 4070 ti super is more than good enough, there's event he 4080 Super for $200 more if you want a little more performance
    I always see comments like this "4k isn't worth it, You'll need a 4090 to even utilize a 4k monitor for gaming" and yeah that's not true at all
    Shit if Nvidia wasnt so greedy and put 16GB of VRAM on the 4070 Super that card would also be able to play almost all games in 4k with DLSS and get 60+ FPS
    but the VRAM makes that impossible for a few games likes Resident Evil 4 and Rachet and Clank
    Then if you look at AMDs side, a 7900 XTX is as powerful as the 4080 and costs as much as my 4070 ti super. as long as youre okay with FSR instead of DLSS then you have amazing 4K gaming for $800. Or a 7900 GRE for $650 is as powerful as my 4070 ti super with the same amount of vram then you're 4k gaming at $650.
    Gate keeping 4k gaming to stupid expensive cards is not right

    Ill be the first to say that 4k in games is definitly noticeable, but 100% not needed. However a 4k panel for everything non-gaming related is way better than 1080/1440p. I bought a 3080 for $900 2 years ago (i think they go for $700 new today) and i can play relatively demanding games like Destiny 2 or Forza at 100-120 frames. Also 4k at 27in screens are definitly worth it. I switched from a 1440p 240hz 27in screen to a 4k 144hz and instantly noticed the difference in pixel density.

    I have an Asus ROG Swift PG32UQ 4K HDR 144Hz monitor. I got it mostly to be able to play my PS5 at its maximum resolution and refresh rates. I ended up getting an RTX 4090 as well, because well, I wanted 4K on my PC too. Now I too am stuck in the knowledge that my upgrade cycle will always include a $1000+ GPU to keep the performance I expect from my system.

    you said your locked into a 1500+ dollar gpu at 4k but you didn't mention the 7900 xtx even if it is slower than a 4090 in raster and considerably slower in raytracing it can still provide good enough fps in standard raster 4k titles like halo infinite and cod while being around 900-1000 usd

    • @EverTechReviews
      @EverTechReviews  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Fair enough, I was looking at it from the perspective of the 4090, and what maintaining that performance would look like for future years. But you are right, even the 4080 can handle 4k, it’s just not the same elite level.

    It's so so worth it if you arent an esports player. We have alot more games then just shooters out here. I don't play any shooters. All I do is play 4k even on my strix 4080 super. Inpy games I'm below 60 on is cyberpunk with ray trscing and alan wake which is like 55fps. But its an easy fix. I'll game at 1440p ultra sometimes but it's rare. For me I can't go back haha.
    The people who don't get 4k or don't undrrstand it I should say have never had a card that truely can do it without scrubbing textures or looking like 1440p. The 4080 super is the first card I've owned that truely looks better in 4k it doesn't scrub away textures it has much less shimmering and floaters. It actually is a nice difference in image quality when switching between all resolutions. And of course the display matters lol. Even my 4070 super in 4k didn't look as good as it should hsve so I stuck to 1440p with it. But man I itched for true 4k gaming so I pulled the trigger and I'm happy I did.
    I do need an oled for 4k gaming though which I do have.
    Also what is your whole setup you may be bottlenecked with your cpu if you have the same cpu from when you used the 2080ti. Just saying you may be missing out on even more performance since you talked about the lows the only reason the lows go down is due to a bottleneck. My 4080 super lows are never low unless I'm playing alan wake at 55fps then it's like 35fps lows. But if I'm over 120fps my lows never go below 100fps only time they did was when I used a 13400f with my 4080 super.

    • @EverTechReviews
      @EverTechReviews  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have a 7800x3d, and my performance is never really bad with this configuration. I mostly play shooters with single player stuff on the side so my perspective skews in that direction! As I said in the video, I am a bit of an frame snob 😅

    • @stitchyrichie
      @stitchyrichie 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oc your card or just do some bios settings

    • @reviewforthetube6485
      @reviewforthetube6485 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @stitchyrichie the only issue was the 13400f and you can't overclock it. I did end up buying the 13600k legit right after this and it almost took the entire bottleneck away but my 4080 super even with the 13400f in 1440p ultra and 4k was already beasting out and OC my gpu wouldn't have helped it would have made the bottleneck worse but yesh now with the 13600k almost 0 bottleneck.
      I'm getting very very close performance to a 4090 and yes I could OC my strix 4080 super and I could even raise the power lint to 420watts thanks to asus board power limit going so much higher then the normal tdp. But I'm good right now. Temps are insanely good noise is so good I can never really tell it's even running. So I'm happy af.
      I didn't need to do any of this though for 4k gaming as I was getting 98% utilization of my gpu and it was performing as well of not slightly better then most benchmarks I've seen.
      Only reason I bought the 1360pk was to be able to play 1080p shooter if I choose to which won't happen often but now I don't have to worry about being as cpu limited and or as bottlenecked.

    No you're not locked forever into $1500+ price bracket.. More like $1000 every 4 years since the 80 series card will be fine 4k performers going forward. The 4090 is only 30% faster than the 4080.

  • @CherryColaWizard

    If you’re playing competitive shooters it makes zero sense to play at 4k at 120-150fps when you can play at 1080p or 1440p at 480+fps and a very high refresh rate panel. I think 4k gaming should only really be used for immersive single player games to get the most of out it.

    • @EverTechReviews
