  • We return to Shawn's junkyard in Conroe, Texas to look at his new inventory of vintage cars. Since we were last at his place he has picked up about two dozen more old cars. Most of them are odd and unusual 1960s-1970s Fords and Mopars.

Pretty cool video guys he didn’t have no Pontiac stuff. I’m just a 100% Pontiac guy I like how all the boys are into turning balls and messing with this old stuff. Super cool kids.

Thank you for the kind words! We have two more junkyard videos coming out in the next week or two. Those will definitely have at least a few Pontiac's for sure!

Definitely! Every single one of them. He is always rotating his inventory with new stuff. He is definitely a good contact to keep in mind for cheap cars and parts.

Sorry for not giving out the contact information in the video you watched. If you go to the end of my video titled "East Texas Junkyard full of cheap project cars" you will see his contact information. Now would be a great time to contact Shawn. We were up there 2 weeks ago and his yard was packed with many more cars than in my videos.

Your best bet on finding those would be to contact the guys at Brownes Auto Salvage. I did a video on them, but you can Google search them and give them a call. CTC might also have it, but they would probably charge more than Brownes. Good luck finding them.

I lived across a chrysler dealership from that time period, and I'm sorry but these cars were garbage few years after being bought new, and rusted away since at least the end of the 80s here. They had all kind of issues with electricity, door lock and handles, and that's only what I've seen myself. GM and ford weren't any better. They rusted out very quickly. So I can't imagine anything good there. The 70s were really a sad time for American auto makers. It's still a good video and it's not against you of course, but I don't have good memory from that time period at all.

Japanese cars of the 70's and 80's rusted within 6 months back then, huge issues with them too..Even Volvo's rusted fast..about 45 minutes from here for some reason they had a bunch of Volvo's in the 70's and 80's rolling around, and rusty..
My parents and Uncle had Chrysler products of that era, they were reliable...The late 70's the lean burn computer could be problematic, but just swap it for a normal distributor, ecu and swap the carburetor you got a lot more power too,it was like you swapped the engine!
GM products always had broken door handles and never had door panels..Square body trucks and GM vans rusted the most they were dotted all over top to bottom with rust after 2 a few years! Major rust patches 6 inches around all over! Ford trucks always had electrical issues with the tail lights, the 78 and older trucks were like that..Not as rusty as the gm trucks.Dodge trucks of the 70's didnt rust as and GM square body were the king of rust!
GM their G bodies always had frame rust and frame issues, welds coming undone etc..ditto with all frame GM cars from the 60's up serious frame rust..Their 350's were junk eating cams all the time,305's were not much better...Chrysler just had lean burn computer issues but a cheap and easy fix, that most didnt know about sad they got screwed buying new computers..
Out family had lots of Chrysler's and GM vehicles not many Fords,we have a huge family! Dad has 7 brothers and 3 sisters so its a huge family..He is the youngest of them all at 79.
Uncle had a plumbing business and only had Dodge vans they never had major rust or issues all engines form 318's to 440's,he liked the bigger engines most vans were 0ne tones....He had a few square body trucks as well those rusted fairly fast.Shame because I liked them,oh well...He then bought Dodge trucks and vans as I mentioned.
