Harriet I'm really enjoying the advent calendar seeing what's behind the" door" you are such a great painter such precise drawings, a great brush you have.
@deWintonPaperCo Harriet, what an amazing job you've done with this. You make it look so simple!! When I suggested this, I meant to drop a picture of a collection that I saw in a shop window a few years ago, but I got distracted, sorry. I've just put it in the photo category and will attempt to attach one here. The Spaniards arrived in the southwestern U.S. in the mid- 1500's (still Mexican territory at the time). If memory serves me, I believe that the Spaniards brought this craft to the indigenous peoples of the region. I lived in a Mexican household on a Junior High School exchange program in the '70's and spent a Christmas with them. I don't remember them having a tin tree, but I do remember a perfect "Charlie Brown Christmas tree"😊.
I am enjoying watching these videos and look forward to each day. I was not prepared to paint along but maybe I will try to make a advent calendar at a late date.
wooow 🩶 this one looks amazing! had no idea such a beautiful tradition existed 😍 once again, many thanks and appreciation for all the education you bring to our lives, dear Harriet 🙇♀️ can’t wait to paint this one, although my first instinct is “how in the world am I gonna be able to draw such an intricate thing?” 😅😟
How interesting. Watching you drawing always helps. Day 15 has worked out beautifully. This is also my first time working with one color of paint. Needs a bit more practice but your explanation was great. Thank you.🌲💗🌲💗🌲
Wow, This one is gorgeous! I have never heard of these before and did have to look them up. some have such amazing work on them... I am quite excited (tho extremely nervous!) to start painting it now! edit: yep..deffo easier than I thought! I did struggle getting some of my lines crisp and even, and my colour values went a little on the wonk at some stages..but by the time I'd finished it looked almost as lovely as yours! Thank you for this one! (oh, I added a tiny bit of silvery metalic paint (xmas treat for a card I tried) into the first stage of grey and its given me a bit of a shimmer undertone.. my first bit of experimentation)
To be honest, it was really hard to see and even with the zoom you couldn’t see it till the end beautiful concept love the idea thank you sincerely Ohn
This might seem a little tricky but just follow the drawing guide and you’ll be fine. You can always pause the video and take a screen shot to trace!
Harriet, You are an amazing painter! You are always WoWing me... To paint such detail on such a small painting! Love it!!!!! ❤❤❤
Harriet, Thank you for bringing the joy of painting to me/us during this Advent Season. Merry Christmas to you and this community you've created.
