Oh this hurts. I know it's going to be a lot easier to source parts for the V8 but, having had 2 Vipers in my family, the V10 is what makes a Viper a Viper. nothing beats that V10 sound! Please refresh that engine and let it live on at least!
This! The Viper just lost the core of its character by dropping from a V10 to a V8. The only thing that could redeem this move would be to rebuilt that V10 and let it live its best life in something nuts.

I might have a controversial view. Hellcat motors are awesome, but doing this kinda misses the whole point of having a Viper in the first place - the V10. Put the Hellcat in something that already has a V8. Like taking out the straight 6 in a Skyline and putting a 800hp boosted-to-hell 4-cylinder. Yea, more power, but the original character is lost.

The v10 is irrelevant now a days since it’s not in anything anymore and was only in the viper/viper truck. The red eye however is current and in abundance. Basically it’s for publicity
You’re only saying that because you’ve most likely never driven one. They’re not really anything special, they kinda sound like 💩. Especially compared to the hellcat motor.
@@Powersproductions130 entirely subjective there. I've owned multiple v8 sports cars and trucks and I love the sound of my v-10 powered ram srt-10. It's very unique as it sounds nothing like it's euro counterparts. It's just a different animal, which is why people love it.

My thoughts exactly! Maybe they do it because it is not a good platform for massive power increase? I always thought the V10 was a derivative of a heavy truck engine, so it should be able to handle a lot more power!
Why? The answer is that the cylinder head/valve design of the v10 does not allow for much benefit from boost. They are designed for a finite amount of air and fuel flow also there is no way to keep the heads from blowing off the motor if one tried to use more than a baby shot of nitrous ( ask me how I know!).

Definitely not the coolest engine ever made it’s literally just a normal old v10, I can think of numerous engines that are cooler that come before this, coolest engine ever made is the VW 2.8L VR6 where both banks have a shared cylinder head, much more unique and a lot cooler

At least it wasn’t a picture perfect viper. Also why did you get rid of your original hellcat engine to tavarish? Was this build not thought of at the time?

Huge Viper and fan of the V-10. However I am excited about this swap, and how it will perform when its complete. Even though this Rt/10 doesn’t have them I always thought how awesome it would be hearing the supercharged hellcat roar from side pipes right outside the doors.
I live in the jeep world and hellcats are swapped into jeeps like kids eat candy. It was cool the first 30k times, its now old and boring. Building that rare v10 into 1000 hp would've been a much cooler route. Although this is a quick turn around and will get you on the track, but still an over done swap IMO.
I really hope all new things are going on this car, headlights etc. I'm really excited for this build. Throtl version of a viper sounds insane. I'm here for it
Man I know it's your car and I would never tell a builder to go a certain way but I really wished you would have kept that V10 in the viper. That car was a childhood dream of mine I'm pretty sure every kid in my era grew up with a poster of that car hanging on their wall

If memory serves the T56 was originally designed an made for the Dodge Viper, so it’s thanx to her that we get to have that wicked trans these days, that said I’d have undone the trans left it there gone up top pulled the motor out an supported the box on a jack. Then pulled it out after the motor was out the way…
I love the viper, my favorite one is the newer acr extreme 🔥. But I’m apart from everyone else. I love this idea for the build. It’s different and it makes for good content. You’re still putting a dodge motor into the car. Now if this was LS swapped (and I love chevys more than anything) I probably would have been complaining as well. Plus more room for more power, and a supercharger whine!!! It’s so many older and semi new videos on the internet with v10 vipers but this channel got rid of that so it’s ok it’s only ONE viper lol. Most of their power tools is Bauer (from harbor freight) I'd say they aren't too concerned about the high end tool hype and get what they need, which is smart. Which explains the straps... they work lol
The T56 was built for the Viper, that’s why there’s the Sneaky Pete logo all over it. The Viper version is just a T56, not magnum. The original T56 held so much power that other manufactures had Tremec build versions for them. The T56 became so popular that Tremec came out with the Magnum, Magnum-F and Magnum-XL. It’s actually easier to get a beefed up to T56 for a Mustang, Camaro, Challenger, etc than it is for a Viper. The differences are mostly bell housing and length issues and there just wasn’t enough demand for a low production Viper. To this day the original drive train engineer John Donato builds beefed up T56s for the Viper. Incredibly nice guy and knows everything you could possibly know about building the perfect manual transmission for a Viper.

fun fact, the viper was the first production vehicle to come with the t56. Borg Warner designed the t56 to specifically handle the torque of the vipers v10.

This topic has come up more than a few times on the Vipers owners association and from some of the engineers and the ppl that built these cars on “team viper” they have all said that the engine won’t fit without a lot of work, that it’s too wide for the frame rails. Something about having to shorten the A arms for the hemi width which would screw up the handling. This should be interesting with all that’s gonna happen that I’m sure y’all weren’t counting on. Although I loved the V10 in my two GenIIs and I don’t think it’s a viper without the V10, fast is fast and can’t wait to see how y’all overcome these obstacles.
Lotsa hate for removing the V10.. but I understand this was a swap idea for the roadkill nights. Super cool build and one I considered myself, since parts are hard to source for the V10, and you weren't removing one of the forged piston motors. Ideal build in my book. I bet it's a hoot to drive.

Most of their power tools is Bauer (from harbor freight) I'd say they aren't too concerned about the high end tool hype and get what they need, which is smart. Which explains the straps... they work lol
The T56 was built for the Viper, that’s why there’s the Sneaky Pete logo all over it. The Viper version is just a T56, not magnum. The original T56 held so much power that other manufactures had Tremec build versions for them. The T56 became so popular that Tremec came out with the Magnum, Magnum-F and Magnum-XL. It’s actually easier to get a beefed up to T56 for a Mustang, Camaro, Challenger, etc than it is for a Viper. The differences are mostly bell housing and length issues and there just wasn’t enough demand for a low production Viper. To this day the original drive train engineer John Donato builds beefed up T56s for the Viper. Incredibly nice guy and knows everything you could possibly know about building the perfect manual transmission for a Viper.
Personally I would prefer the v10.

I feel you guys.. removing the v10 is a bold move. But wait till it's finished. Im 100% confident we all be blown away by the end result and are willing to forgive the v10 removal!
Don’t know if I can get on board with a hellcat motor in a viper… sure. Cool idea. But that V10 is what makes a viper a viper. It’s kinda like ford slapping a Mustang badge on a four door electric car 🙄

fun fact, the viper was the first production vehicle to come with the t56.
Borg Warner designed the t56 to specifically handle the torque of the vipers v10.
It's not like this is the only viper in existence... go with the hellcat swap, lets see some supercharged power out of that gorgeous car!! The sound alone will change minds! 🤘💯🔥🚀

This topic has come up more than a few times on the Vipers owners association and from some of the engineers and the ppl that built these cars on “team viper” they have all said that the engine won’t fit without a lot of work, that it’s too wide for the frame rails. Something about having to shorten the A arms for the hemi width which would screw up the handling. This should be interesting with all that’s gonna happen that I’m sure y’all weren’t counting on. Although I loved the V10 in my two GenIIs and I don’t think it’s a viper without the V10, fast is fast and can’t wait to see how y’all overcome these obstacles.
Lotsa hate for removing the V10.. but I understand this was a swap idea for the roadkill nights. Super cool build and one I considered myself, since parts are hard to source for the V10, and you weren't removing one of the forged piston motors. Ideal build in my book. I bet it's a hoot to drive.

I guess the car needed some front end work anyways but watching that front get slammed on the ground I was like ughh god poor viper and it’s getting a transplant idk if this is a totally ideal move for this car or if this is just a cool move for roadkill nights it’s still a sin tbh everyone mostly agrees the viper sound is intoxicating with the v10
