Jonah Hauer King has the sweetest look of a handsome man falling in love, and Halle Bailey is truly a beautiful mermaid princess in this movie. I loved the movie. and for all those people that hate the movie based on skin color, come out of the Darkness of Hate, and come into the Light, where there is sunlight warmth, beauty, love, joy, and peace.
It was a beautiful movie. I want to see it again just to get a closer look at some of the things I missed. When I first saw the trailers, I was not impressed with Jonah. They didn't show much of him, so I thought his role would be limited. But when I saw the movie, my impression changed entirely. Jonah did justice to the role of Eric. The chemistry was amazing. Did I care that Ariel was not the redhead from the cartoon? Not a smidgen. If people come in all sizes and races, then mermaids can too. I think the diversity of this movie is a great message to send to the youngsters watching it.

This movie has a strong message about diversity. It's more than about the love between a human prince and a mermaid princess. It's also about the love between two people of different colors who come from different cultures. Ariel is black, and Eric is white, but they don't let that get in the way of their relationship. Instead, they embrace their similarities and show both of their kinds that merfolk and humans don't have to live in fear of each other.
This video is really good and it makes justice to the chemistry between Jonah and Halle. For me this movie is one of the best live action from Disney. Thank you for sharing this video :)
the real little mermaid is a tale by Hans Christian Andersen and a bronze statue on the coast of Kopenhagen in honor to the famous tale. the 1989 movie is based on the tale and a honor to this statue (the rock scenes are a reference to the statue). The animated Ariel is not replaced by Halle Bailey. Lily James is also not the same Cinderella as the 1950 Cinderella. I still don't understand why everyone can accept Lily James as Ella, but is freaking out with a different Little Mermaid....
