I had to drop some stuff off to Dennis a while ago and he got his yellow maple/gum kit just set up and man...talk about TONE....I was already blown away but man I can't imagine how it sounds now with that new system in person. Absolute fire!
Excellent innovation with the new mounting system. It opens up the toms more and allows them to resonate fully! Well done Pearl!!! Also, great job Dennis!!!
I've been playing Pearl drums for the last 25 years. One thing that doesn't get enough credit is their customer service. They are incredible. Shout out to Al Percival.
LOL I love how the Pearl guy asks Chambers for his candid comments (given that he holds a legendary status amongst musicians) and all he does is riff some more and give him a “yea man…”. Thats some Old School bluntness!!! Lets his playing do the talking for him
Pearl. Lots of great companies making lots of great kits, but Pearl NEVER SLEEPS. Pearl is like MOPAR (Plymouth, Dodge, Chrysler) was in the 60s. Innovates... sets industry standard, other companies catch up and try to improve on the ideas... might have a moment of attention, and then BOOM, Pearl drops the new standard. Best engineers and designers for both shells and hardware IMHO. GO PEARL !!! Fell in love with drums in probably 1981 or 82.. Drum World in San Francisco was my Disneyland.. guy named Gene ran the shop. He was a drum WIZARD. He left Drum World in I dunno, early 90s? for a job at Pearl. I have a feeling he's been involved in keeping Pearl at the TOP. Wherever Gene is, he is a LEGEND !!! GO Gene !
We hope you'll try one of our series that uses the new R2 Air Mounting System to hear what a difference it makes in resonance. Of the three new Masters Series, the Masters Maple Pure's 4-ply (5mm) shells are thinner than the 6-EvenPly (5.4mm) Masters Maple Gum and 6-ply (7.5) Masters Maple. th-cam.com/video/eMm317ltnJ0/w-d-xo.html
I've always wanted a quality Maple/Gum kit. This is amazing! And who doesn't love every second of Dennis's playing. Pearl you need to hit up El Estepario Siberiano and set up a duo with Dennis.
I highly approve of this channel and video Dennis C Legend 🥁 and also these Maple gums are not cheap but sound amazing I have 14 pearl kit’s myself most of them are 2010 forum series models 2 are vintage 70’s kits 1 80’s export kit 1 crystal beat with the unfortunate discontinued black hardware 1 Chad Smith new old stock signature kit in blue back when he was endorsed by pearl if I could ever afford these maple gums I would totally get em
really happy to see Dennis looking good again. Hideous colour but that kit sounds great. Hilarious how Pearl is so proud of their "L arm" mounting system like other companies haven't been using them for decades already.
I love how this Snare drum sounds along with the entire set. I have been a Pearl set drummer for years. My question to you is; how do you match up the Batter “heads” on these drums to maintain the sound you are looking for and how it matches the shell.
I love maple drums, and Pearl kits are incredibly elegant. I own a Masters legend, and I wouldn't change for anything else. The only hybrid I tolerate is built by Toyota. But the hardware, the tom holders, are too stiff. I found a system to give it some flexibility, I don't know what these new holders are worth.
Because he entered the room from the side towards the rear of the kit. Plus, L arms isn't new. L arms have been around for at least 60 or 70 years. Pearl just hasn't used L arms for a while. I believe Pearl used L arms with their 1960's kits. Then they moved to copy the Rogers Swivel Ball mounts and then they went to the pipe mounts. The Pipe mounts made no sense because they had to cut a large hole in the toms if it had a long pipe going into the drum and then they had to cut a large diameter hole in the bass drum. I always thought that was a little silly. They were solid and the toms didn't move around that much.
This is all great , BUT , why not show what they sound like ON and OFF the mics and effects. I’ve heard Exports sound almost this good while going through a PA system. It’s great to hear em this way too of course, but it’s not the real true thing like this.
The best method is to hear the kit in person as even a phone or camera mic would still color the true sound. This and the previous videos are simply moments captured at our HIGH-END REIMAGINED event in order to share with the drumming community.
Not a fan of the snare drum. it sounds out of place. I don't know what the big deal about the "L" arm is. "L" arms have been around for well over 60, maybe even older than 70 years. I had "L" arms on my first drum kit, a '50's Ludwig drum set. Come on Pearl.
Our new GyroLock-L Tom Holders use the same design as our traditional tom holders and are very different from the ball & socket system which are the majority found in the market. th-cam.com/video/C1CQkMkPrM0/w-d-xo.html
@@PearlDrumsUS I'm not talking about the Gyro lock, that's a great design. It's just the L arm isn't a new thing, it's just new for Pear in that Pearl hasn't used L arms for many decades. BUT, Pearl did use L arms back in the 60's. Pearl's just bringing back the design so you don't have to drill large holes in the drum shells. Yes, I do agree that it's an improvement but I wouldn't be acting like you split an atom, it's just a new design tom mount that's more retro, only modernized to work with the R2 suspension system. I'm more concerned about the marketing hype rather than the design itself. Suggestions: The bass drum mount, that Pearl have a single hole bass drum mount vs a two hole mount. and then have a two hole bracket to put each GyroMount post into. Also, maybe a sliding bass drum mount similar to what Tama and DW have had would also be kind of cool too. One other suggestion for Pearl is to offer high gloss coating for inside the drum shells. Only a couple of companies have offered this and I think it improves the projection of the drum, plus it smooths out the harmonics in the drum to get a more pure tonal quality. Maybe experiment with different number of layers of clear coat inside the shell, but make sure you get the coats to fully cure as that will make a sonic difference. I think the Custom Masterworks drums should offer that as a custom option.
Dennis is looking much better , good to see the master is back !!! Long live Dennis Chambers
What a gorgeous kit, with a big sound. Of course, it's always a pleasure to see and hear Mr. Chambers. One of the great drum icons and Hall of Famer.
Glad to see Dennis looking good! And as always sounding good.
You know THE GOAT is one tough customer and perfectionist. Sales VP nailed the pitch. I'm sold.
That's snare sound is phenomenal! Whoever tuned that needs a raise or promotion at Pearl! Wow!
Very often dennis himself is tuning!!
Dennis is one of those dudes who continues to grow gracefully in his drumming. I hope he’s got many more years of singles and doubles left in him!
I like how close cameras always shake when Dennis is behind the kit!
Man, now that is a kit befitting the great Dennis Chambers! Stunning!!
That is one of the best sounding kits ive ever heard. Lively but focused like he said.
I’m taking this home right? Absolutely!
Words I always dreamed of when I imagined being a “blank” artist.
Truly he’s one of the greatest of our time🐐
The maple/gum may be the best sounding Pearl I've ever heard. So deep, full, and round. Just gorgeous!!!
That is one FANTASTIC sounding kit!! Well done, Pearl!!
The weight he puts in his swings … Gosh, he’s still such a machine behind the kit. Love it!
I need a Maple/Gum set now! They sound amazing!
I love how they've changed the mounting system. So much better! 👍👍
“Man, they’re exploding all over the place”
Phenomenal opening statement 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
There's Just something magical about those maple gum shells.

Dennis is just awesome. The first drummer to really demonstrate to me how touch really affects the sound and tone of the drums.
Great work Pearl very nice drums and the best hardware and to an amazing drummer Dennis.
Congratulations Dennis on your new kit, so beautiful, loving that color!
Pearl is always the best reason to play drums 🥁 and that kit has the sound that's in your face and tone that's killing 👊🏾
Those toms sound like cannons. Amazing sound. Love it
Probably the best sound of the news hi-end Pearl !
I LOVE how the toms sound!
Excellent innovation with the new mounting system. It opens up the toms more and allows them to resonate fully! Well done Pearl!!! Also, great job Dennis!!!
Dennis chambers is just one of the best
Fantastic. Powerful sound.
Dennis Chambers...GOAT
The Best! Dennis Chambers!
That's a beautiful sounding kit.
Dennis is awesome as always.
Cheers.
That's the man right there! Beautiful drums as always, Pearl
I've been playing Pearl drums for the last 25 years. One thing that doesn't get enough credit is their customer service. They are incredible. Shout out to Al Percival.
They sound incredible.
WOW!!!! I'm sooooo happy this brother is doing better. That was such a terrible scare what happened to him. The power of prayer.
Pearl nailed it. Sounds great
nothing sounded better than the yellow kit dennis played at the Buddy Rich Memorial Concert . BEST KIT EVER
Best his kit has ever sounded
The kit sounds amazing, yes. But man, it is even better to see Dennis looking like his old self.
LOL I love how the Pearl guy asks Chambers for his candid comments (given that he holds a legendary status amongst musicians) and all he does is riff some more and give him a “yea man…”. Thats some Old School bluntness!!! Lets his playing do the talking for him
That sound... Holy smokes!
DW guy here, but that kit sounds amazing...especially that snare!
I am taking this Home right! 👍💙
Que bom o mestre de volta.
First kit I've heard that gives Sonor a run for the money. This kit is incredible.
I just love the maple/gum kit!
Pearl.

Fantastic!!
I saw Dennis play with Santana. Talk about a drummer on fire when he decides to light up.
I've always wanted a quality Maple/Gum kit. This is amazing! And who doesn't love every second of Dennis's playing. Pearl you need to hit up El Estepario Siberiano and set up a duo with Dennis.
You can see in Dennis´s face. He is like, I gotta have me some of these
I love it!
Love his face at 0:39 !!!
lookin good sir!
Dennis lookin good these days!
Warm and poppy. Will cut through the band with golden accents like dewdrops from percussive heaven...
Unbelievable sound!!!👏👏
magnifico.💥💥💥💥💥💥

I would like to know the exact version of the snare drum 🥁 wow
That's the 14x6.5 Dennis Chambers Signature Snare Drum... pearldrum.com/en/products/snares/signature-snares/dennis-chambers

What exact pair of hi-hats he plays here? They sound awsome

WOW ❤

i think pearl for Mangini the best sounding..
L arms, nice, only took pearl fortever to move away from the tube arms. Great sound, the suspension system looks great.
Thanks but our Tom Holder Family just got a little larger... the traditional models are here to stay👍
They are really hitting the marketing hard lately.
What K ride cymbal is that?
Sounds amazing. Dennis is the goat. But L arms is massive step backwards imo.
Our Tom Holder Family just got a little larger... the traditional models are here to stay👍
Is it pink? or is that because of the lights?
Satin Rose Gold, so sorta. Looks a bit like Neil Peart’s “hold your fire” Ludwig kit.
Pink
Is a beautiful kit
Oh lord, I gotta give it to Pearl at least on the snares, snappy fatback f'n Dennis Chambs.
If its real, That sound better than an American
00:46 :O
He didn't even notice the L arms, how could you not after having the normal ones for decades 😂
Because he entered the room from the side towards the rear of the kit.

Rose gold colour 😂😂😂 there's was one for Thai drummer playing
So! Finally coming to reason. L arms after forever.
Now get rid of that over the kick rack bar. looks like a baby park or something.
If he says R2 suspension one more time
