Haryana was merged into punjab by British. It was not part of punjab empire or sikh empire . Also many areas of himachal were merged by British into united punjab.

These were known as the Simla Hills States and four Punjab southern hill states under the Himachal Pradesh (Administration) Order, 1948 under Sections 3 and 4 of the Extra-Provincial Jurisdiction Act, 1947 (later renamed as the Foreign Jurisdiction Act, 1947 vide A.O. of 1950). The State of Bilaspur was merged into Himachal Pradesh on 1 July 1954 by the Himachal Pradesh and Bilaspur (New State) Act, 1954.
Himachal became a Part 'C' state on 26 January 1950 when Constitution of India came into effect and the Lieutenant Governor was appointed. The Legislative Assembly was elected in 1952. Himachal Pradesh became a union territory on 1 November 1956. Some areas of Punjab State, namely, Simla, Kangra, Kullu and Lahul and Spiti Districts, Lohara, Amb and Una Kanungo circles, some area of Santokhgarh Kanungo circle and some other specified area of Una Tehsil of Hoshiarpur District, as well as Kandaghat and Nalagarh Tehsils of earstwhile PEPSU State, besides some parts of Dhar Kalan Kanungo circle of Pathankot District-were merged with Himachal Pradesh on 1 November 1966 on enactment by Parliament of the Punjab Reorganisation Act, 1966. On 18 December 1970, the State of Himachal Pradesh Act was passed by Parliament, and the new state came into being on 25 January 1971. Himachal became the 18th state of the Indian Union with Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar as its first chief minister.

I have read somewhere that Churchill and Stalin were conversing with each other about possible disintegration of India soon after Independence. Stalin had no confidence in sustainability of state of India because of british instigation. Many available and missing links points towards the fact that it was british American conspiracy to divide India on many reasons such as religion/language and tribal origination. So Dravid movement /Extreme intolerance for Hindi and demand of separate Dravid Nadu and associated emergence of Dravidian party and wiping out of Congress from southern states in hands of Dravid and left parties and demand of language based states etc are testimony to this fact. This people are still suffering from that separatism in back of their mind. And they foolishly consider themselves different from India and Hinduism. Government should be cautious from these people who have separatist tendency and deal with iron hand against them.

Old Punjab (including pak & ind punjab) pr Britishers ka kabza 1849 me hua tha after the death of maharaja Ranjit Singh.
No Haryana was in history at that time.
Master Tara singh demanded old. Punjab because Punjab was not part of India, it was different at the time of maharaja Ranjit Singh.
Before partition you can check punjab on maps and after partion 70 percent goes to Pakistan and 30 percent was in India, from 30 percent politicians cut out himachal and haryana.
A big discrimination with punjab state from the beginning, we can not divide the state by culture and language as there are many castes in India but they existing peacefully.
90 percent Sikhs were martyrdom for freedom but we didn't our rights.
Bad politics always demoralizing punjab from time to time.
