Quality factory and product, and looks like a good place to work. Cannot help but believe this is the peak of internal combustion engines, there will be no more development of these engines, enjoy them whilst you can, however I could never afford one.

German engines,german gearboxes,german drivetrain,german electronics etc,etc,etc. Assembled in UK.
BMW and Rolls-Royce signed a contract in 2003 about BMW supplying engines, electronics and powertrains for Rolls-Royce. Hence why RR cars have a lot of German made components. Despite the cars are made at Goodwood in the UK, some parts like the aluminium body for the Phantom are handmade at the BMW plant in Dingolfing, in Germany.

What ever happened to good value for money. Rolls Royce's were good value for money when tthat was their aim and if you were fortunate enough to afford one. Today they appear to me to be made wel,l but they are way over engineered mechanically, and thus the depeniability could be threatened by this overengineering. Not mention the cost of unnecessary maintenance and repair costs. Isn't this why these cars now depreciate so much. Or have they just become an over priced Big Brand Fashion name. And we all know that fashion comes and goes.
Just to clarify, as it's a common misconception: BMW are licenced by Rolls Royce Plc to make a Rolls Royce branded car. They did not buy Rolls Royce.
What makes you believe this is true?
@@luccadukka well, it's just a fact because ownership of the brand name "Rolls Royce" and RR logo was retained by Rolls Royce Plc when they de-merged Rolls Royce motor cars in 1971, and licenced the brand back to RR cars. When Rolls Royce motor cars was sold in 1998 to VW, Rolls Royce Plc choose to withdraw the brand licensing, and did a separate deal licensing the Rolls Royce brand and RR logo to BMW for the purposes of branding motor cars. Hence, whilst VW bought Rolls Royce motor cars, going forward it could only sell a Bentley branded car (as the Bentley brand was owned by Rolls Royce motor cars) They subsequently changed the name of the limited company to "Bentley Motors Limited". Hence why BMW is only licenced to build a Rolls Royce branded car, it never bought the company. I believe there was an initial payment of £40m for the licence.
@@highlandmalt6368 I’m sorry but that is wrong. Bmw released a statement in 2020 to clarify that fact. Rolls Royce plc and rolls Rolls Royce cars are two completely separate company’s. The logo was originally on license. That is no longer the case. A simple search of the internet for that press release will explain that to you.
@@highlandmalt6368 if you google the images for rr cars and rr plc you will see the difference. One is blue and the other is not. A small difference I grant you but, it is significant and completely separates the two companies.

I just don’t get Rolls Royce cars 🤔
Yeah, but them with enormous egos, hedge funds, suitcases of, bundles of, and oodles of lolly do. Personally I think raising or lowering the roof while under way is a tad too much pandering to those same people.
Without Eastern Europeans this factory couldn’t operate. The staff are not generally highly skilled individuals (I make an exception with the wood guys). They are just assembling workers. The amount they are paid is no more than you’d earn at a dealership. Amazing considering the cheapest model is in excess of £250k. It’s my opinion that there is nothing British about this brand anymore. Germany and Bmw are absolutely its beating heart.
Very interesting compared to the way they were building them at crew in the seventies more workers took longer. I own my crew car but that Rolls-Royce I would lease. Too much Electronics when it becomes 40 years old how do you fix that kind of stuff how many electronic items have you tossed into the trash VCRs DVD players other electronic devices. It Dooms the cars and makes them non-collectible. Hold on to those old vintage rolls royces the ones where everything's analog and can be taken apart and repaired by hand. What's that hole in the dash oh that's for the electronic navigation screen used to be. I don't call it progress not for Rolls-Royce

Hmm…….VW, doctoring their emissions data, BMW, Audi, languishing in the bottom half of any reliability reports you care to mention.
Now if you said, Toyota, or Lexus, you may have a point. But I’ll stick with these British workers, their work standards are second to none.
